[SOLVED]There is no recovery mode in LG K420n? - LG K10 Questions & Answers

I tried various buttons combinations but none of them worked. I can only enter something called 'emergency mode'.
Is this means that I can't install TWRP?
Also I have question how to enter fastboot and download mode.

- TWRP: use vineethp guide, or flash it automatically with Cris Kernel (root requiered)
- FastBoot: not officially unlocked, but you can make it available by adb shell (I think)
- Download Mode: while device is off, press and hold volume up key, then plug the usb cable to your PC and then to the phone, after that the phone will startup in download mode.
Note: You can also enable/install/access to fastboot and twrp from just download mode, but for this will be necessary to use some adb shell commands.

Help I bricked my Oneplus 3

Hi, i played around with my new OP3, and i wanted to root it. Since i'm noob at rooting, it went wrong. (i did it with twrp)
So first it just went in to bootloop, then i was still able to get to rcovery and stuff, but i followed a guide to fix bootloop, and that ****ed it even more up. The guide i followedet told me to use "OnePlus3_Unbrick_Tool"
After using "OnePlus3_Unbrick_Tool", i now cant even go into recovery anymore, the only thing i can do is go to bootloader, but when i'm in bootloader now, it wont connect proberly, so that i can use "flash twrp", so that i can use twrp recovery.
Also when i try to boot it, it because of "OnePlus3_Unbrick_Tool" goes into something, where it says "md5 checksum failed", and then restarts and does it again and again.....
I hope it's not bricked forever, pls help ))
have you tried re-flashing the stock or twrp recovery with adb sideload command?
if not give it a shot, it might work.

Just boot into bootloader mode and through command prompt check if your phone is detected by typing fastboot devices. If its detected then you flash a new recovery again. Forget the toolkit, just look for instructions on how to install a custom recovery.

Hey!
I'm not the expert but I have played with my 1+3 enough to have some knowledge.
First of all, do not use "all in one tools", those do not put you in control.
Cool, so fastboot is detected, though you can't get into the recovery?
Step 1) make sure you have the latest version of "fastboot" and "adb" (Android Debug Bridge) and unlock the bootloader. This tread should be helpfull: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/oneplus-3-how-to-unlock-bootloader-t3398733
You need to do this, because otherwise we will not be able to proceed (i.e. the phone is to be 'unlocked' for what we are about to do).
Step 2) If you are ready than let's flash a new recovery (TWRP):
This is also step 2 in the thread mentioned above. Very important: "Once the flash has completed, Don't use the "Fastboot Reboot" Command Instead Unplug Your phone then Manually boot it into recovery by keeping Power + Volume Down button pressed."
So once you have flashed a new recovery using fastboot, than you should reboot your phone into the new recovery!
step 3)
Once in the new recovery (TWRP) go to advanced and to ADB sideload. Make sure your computer detects your device with the command "adb devices" and flash a new ROM. Just for simplicity use the official OOS 3.2.4.
This should do the trick. Before you go and try make sure you understand EVERYTHING I have written. Let me know if you have questions.

So I have the bootloader unlocked and I can enter the bootload and my computer detects my device which is nice.
when I flash twrp on my phone trough CMD it doesnt work, my PC tells me that everything is okay but my phone will not boot into twrp and instead it will give me weird errors.

this fix worked for me,
On the screen when the phone failed to md5 checksum, you've got several partition failed right? in red text.
- download this : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24591000424942573
and then extract.
- download platform tools attached below. extract in the same folder with first file you've downloaded.
- Boot your phone to fastboot mode, plug your usb, make sure adb and fastboot driver are installed.
- on the folder, hold shift and right click, click open command here
- type fastboot devices
- make sure your serial number appear.
- now flash the img of the missing file according to the partition in red text on your ms5 checksum failed one by one.
- e.g. "fastboot flash boot_aging boot_aging.img.
- make sure you flash all the missing partition.
- type fastboot reboot.
this will boot you to oos 3.1.2.
unfortunately I couldn't extract the newest oos dat. data. but you could always take the OTA

Hmm bad try installing all op3 drivers and see whether phone is detected or not. I was in the same situation previously. Pushing zip through adp terminal is painful process. I got device offline first, after solving that i got service not recognized issue. For solving that usb debugging needs to be enabled i stuck in that step.
can you enter recovery trough fastboot mode? I.e. if you are in fastboot mode you van use the volume keys to select recovery.
100% sure you can't enter recovery?
you can try Fast and pro's option. let us know!

You have triggered the downgrade QFUSE. There is nothing you can do apart from trying to unbrick it like it was dead, but that's not guaranteed to work. You should have researched more before attempting this. My prototype doesn't have a QFUSE, so i am free to downgrade via TOT to kitkat or lollipop.

I second you on this. I just uninstalled MultiROM and got the secure booting error. Depending on the ROM you have, find a bumped kernel and flash it. Most of the kernels on XDA are pre-bumped unless the developer states so. Boot into recovery, tutorials on the internet, then flash the kernel and voila.
if you can use twrp or you're able to flash, use mr_bump.zip: https://mega.nz/#!DNwhRBrK!Ki6zIzXca0KjPShi6L2oaCYIr0CkmH8sEymEt-0Q3ys

Hello, i got the same probleme and i've trying a lot of things but not resolved..
My phone is a LG G3 Beat F470s..
Please help us..
Dowblnload adb and fastboot drivers
Download laf.img for your device
Download LG Drivers
Get you G3 to fastboot mode. Hold volume up and connect it to PC
Open fastboot and adb folder in PC, ctrl+shift+right click and open cmd. Type fastboot devices...if ur device is listen then proceed, if not u did not do something cotrectly...if yes just flash laf img to your G3 and voila
I remember me that I was in the same situation:
No TWRP, no download mode, so i have use in pat this thread:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1752270
And an other that i haven't found again (xda thread), in some lines:
=> download the last img file from: https://eu.dl.twrp.me/d855/
=> no download mode available so no possibility to flash manually twrp file from an LG Flash Tool
==> so setup an adb connexion to the phone, cp command to copy the img file on the sdcard or where you want
=> command: "flash recovery twrp-2.8.x.x-xxx.img" (https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-twrp/
=> if it's as worked, you could reboot manually in twrp, make again the partitions if needed and flash any ROM.

[SOLVED] Could not install TWRP

Hi,
I want to enable dualsim on my singlesim device and for that the TWRP has to be installed. After checking many threads, which less or more describe the same steps, I managed to unlock the bootloader and downloaded an "unofficial" twrp image for the Moto Z Play. But on the last step while trying to flash it I got the error "Image not signed or corrupt" and the image is not installed. Here is the output by flashing:
Code:
D:\Programs\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot.exe flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-addison.img
(bootloader) slot-count: not found
(bootloader) slot-suffixes: not found
(bootloader) slot-suffixes: not found
(bootloader) has-slot:recovery: not found
target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
sending 'recovery' (11374 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.255s]
writing 'recovery'...
(bootloader) Image not signed or corrupt
OKAY [ 0.246s]
finished. total time: 0.510s
Is there a way to avoid this error ?
Use: "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" no quotes. I change the filename to just "twrp.img" less chance of typing something wrong.
and no the .exe you did.

It makes no sense then to flash it. Why don't you just use
fastboot boot twrp.img
when you want to start it? Then no flash will be involved, and twrp will be just booted for this single usage. You can repeat this whenever you need it.

After trying to flash Pie my G7 stuck in fastboot mode. Download mode is unavailable so I not can reset the stock ROM.
After it reboots it boots into only to fastboot mode and is stuck in a loop now.
An even bigger problem is that now the bootloader is locked and the unlock.bin file can not unlock the bootloader.
ADB mode is not working!
DOWNLOAD mode is not working!
SYSTEM mod does not work!
There is only FASTBOOT mode that is in the loop
Does anyone have any suggestions?

how i can do this?
My G710EM has a problem with my lockback BL. I can't boot the system and it will prompt "Your device has failed a routine safety check and will not boot. This may be a temporary problem. If this message occurs repeatedly, visit this link on Another device and refer to the red case:g.co/ABH Your device will power off automatically after a while.” With LGup brush kdz brush does not go in, fastboot “fastboot flash unlock unlock.bin” prompt is invalid

I don't know what to do.
I had the very same problem as OP. I tried to install pie with LGUP (G710EM20b_00_OPEN_EU_OP_0508.kdz) but ended in fastboot loop.
After whole night of trying different things (being a noob means less sleep) I managed to run the phone in download mode. Starting from there I was able to install my previous rom. Both failed update and rescue operations were done on Win 10.
What I tried and didn't work:
- Fastboot --set-active=a
Code:
C:\ADB>Fastboot --set-active=a
Setting current slot to 'a'...
FAILED (remote: Slot Change is not allowed in Lock State)
finished. total time: 0.003s
- Unlocking with unlock.bin. Didn't save the msg but saw it somewhere in another thread. I needed to install/point drivers first because the device was not recognized in Win.
- Solutions for G6 for going into download mode. The download mode icon was displayed for a second and then going to fastboot again.
- LG Flash Tool 2014 - I just followed a guide for older phones but it didn't work. Didn't try again.
What did work:
1. I found this post on reddit (remove spaces or PM me, I'm not allowed to post links):

At first, you'll need a working fastboot environment, you'll find out how to set it up on your own. Then you'll need the laf.img, I can upload mine if you want or I could help you extracting one out of a kdz file. Put the laf.img in the same folder like your fastboot.exe, then hold shift and right click, then click on "open command panel here" or however it's called in English. Type "fastboot flash laf laf.img" (Edit: It would probably better to use "fastboot boot laf.img" instead because of the bootloader lock). If that works, you at least have a working download mode.

2. I used LG_Firmware_Extract_v1.2.6.1 and extracted dz file from aforementioned pie file. The I extracted two laf files for the kz file. In my case they were: laf.img_180534 and laf.img_81990.
3. I took one of these files (sry, don't remember which one, but they have the same size - didn't check if they're the same) renamed it to laf.img and put a folder where fastboot.exe is.
4. I did
Code:
fastboot boot laf.img
and voila: the phone was in download mode!
5. After that LGUP the previous rom and the phone is working again. Here I needed few tries. At first the were some problems, then I tried different combinations (1.14, 1.15, w/ and w/o uppercut). I think LGUP 1.15 (1.14 with patch) did the work. I was able to "refurbish" the phone.
Hope it's useful for others. If anyone could prepare a guide from this description or/and tell why it worked - please feel free to do so.
I think I will wait some time before trying pie again

Thanks for you guide.. I follow it but unfortunatly after "fastboot boot laf.img" I get this message from my LG:

I recall I also had some error msg, it could've been the same. Now I don't remember what I exactly did next as most my actions were more or less random. Either I tried the same command but with other laf.img file (from the rom I used before), or I tried to restart the phone into download mode (vol- and power together and then vol+ after screen goes black) or tried the same file again.
Hope it helps.

Check if the phone is recognized in LG Bridge. If so, then choose update error recovery from software update tab. Again, I don't remember if it worked immediately or did I need to reinstall drivers and/or choose a proper driver in device manager (generic ADB vs LG...) and/or restart the phone.

Based on other threads, e.g. https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/restore-v20-to-100-stock-bricked-devices-t3524903 and https://www.reddit.com/r/lgg6/comments/axd17d/lg_g6_eu_glh870_bricked_after_update_your_device/
try:
install the LG Bridge updater software on a computer, go to updates, click the "correct update errors" button. Then plug in your turned-off phone while holding down the volume up button. It should switch to download mode and reinstall all software from the PC. Yes, this will erase all data but it should unbrick your phone (unless the hardware's broken I guess)

Have you enabled USB debugging?
To enable USB debugging you need to enable Developer Options in your phone first. To do this: Go to Settings > About phone > Software info > and then tap the build number about 7 times.
Edit: I can see you have downloaded the Android SDK Platform-Tools on the desktop. Try to run the command under the correct path ( C:\Users\XXXX\Desktop\platform-tools_r33.0.2-windows\platform-tools>

Indeed. I have definitely lost my mind.
Use android flashtool. You can't downgrade on official a13 and I think you have to flash it to both slots or use flashtool

Yes i have bootloader unlock. But totally blackscreen now. Any button do not work.
If ADB and Fastboot still work (and since your bootloader is unlocked), then @fil3s suggestion to use the Android Flash Tool is the best option to try.

What were you trying to do, and at what point did this happen?
Is your phone recognized as a Android device, or is it showing up as something else?
Does holding down the Power button + Volume Down do anything?
