Automatically toggle Boomsound when music app starts playing - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

I was wondering if it was possible to automatically toggle Boomsound into music mode when I start playing music in a particular app (poweramp). I keep it in theater mode otherwise because I like that better for videos, but when I go to play music, it would be nice not to have to change it manually. I block the persistent notification, so I would have to change it via settings.
I use Tasker and the Autoinput plugin, but I can't figure out how to automate it. Any help is appreciated.

[Q] in-app equalizer turns off? spotify/google all access

Streaming music apps like spotify/ google music have in app equalizers that really make a difference, hence I use them. But every so often the equalizer turns off by itself reverting back to a loud/flat sound. But as soon as you go to check the equalizer, it says it is still on and the sound reverts to your settings in the equalizer.
Has anyone else encountered this?

[Q] How to mute media playback controls?

I don't like having the media notification on my watch with the little play/pause action, I prefer to just handle that with my phone. I tried specifically muting Pocketcasts and Spotify in the Android Wear app, but that doesn't seem to do anything.
Any ideas? Is there a different app that I need to mute to make this happen?
what app are you using for music? for me the controls don't appear if i disable the lockscreen feature on poweramp
I use Spotify for music and Pocketcasts for podcasts. Same problem with both.
you can try muting spotify and pocketcasts, go on android wear, click on the cog icon on top right, it should be the first option in that menu
Edit: sorry reread your previous post, seems that didn't work, on spotify you can try to turn off device broadcast status or you can go to settings > apps > spotify and uncheck show notifications

prevent app from automatically closing by task manager in kitkat

I listen to music via Bluetooth streaming in my car using the factory MUSIC app. I'd like to be able to get into the car, turn on the BT streaming mode on my car audio and automatically begin playing music. However, the factory task manager automatically closes the MUSIC app after I get out of the car and I have to load it manually each time.
Being that everyone recommends that with KitKat one shouldn't install a task killer/manager other than what's from the factory....how can this be done?
Is there any way to put the music on an exclusion list?
Thanks in advance.
If understand correctly, you want the music to continue playing on your phone's speaker when disconnected from your car audio?

negative, the music will pause automatically when the music app detects a break in bluetooth connection when I turn off the car. What I need is for the MUSIC app itself to continue running in the background (it's not a big resource or battery hog) for when I get into my car for a seamless transition back to playing music.... because once the phone shuts down the app I need to load it again...a PITA.
Thanks.

It will continue running in the background, this isn't really a task killer problem but more of an app thing.. For example, I use play music and it resumes playing once I connect to Bluetooth again even if I kill it myself.. I would check the settings if you haven't already and see if there's is a setting for it, I've seen other apps with settings like that, but don't know about the stock music app
it is not in fact running in the background. No such option in setting either. Anyone know of any app that could make it be ignored by the default task manager?
You can do it with xposed if interested
The head unit in your car may have something to do with it.
Factory? Aftermarket?
I have a Kenwood w/7in touch screen and if my BT on phone is enabled as soon as the Kenwood starts up whatever app was running before will start playing automatically, Samsung music app, Amazon music app..
If Milk music or Pandora I have to launch app.
Pp.
there are a few apps on the market with that name.... also do I need root access? As far as the head unit it's a factory stereo Infiniti q50

It's not on the market and you need root access.. If you are interested do a quick search for xposed on Google and go to the one here on XDA, read about it on the thread and how to use it, install it, open it, and search for a module called app settings, in there you have an option to always keep in memory for whatever app you want so just select stock player. Keeping the music player running may not even be the solution, but it is a possibility.. As the previous poster stated, there are apps that just lack autoplay feature.. It is also possible that some other music app or app that uses Bluetooth may conflict with it, preventing it from auto playing

Automatically Switch Boomsound according to app

Hi,
I prefer Theater Mode for watching Videos with MXplayer and Music Mode for listening Music with PowerAmp.
As I really detest the Boomsound Notification I've disabled it with GravityBox.
But even with enabled Notification its a hassle to always press it.
So I'm looking for an way to automate Boomsound switching depending on active App, or depending on shown Notification, as MXPlayer and PowerAmp show a Notification and I often Start PowerAmp from homescreen Widget and not open the App.
Anyone knows a way how to solve this ?
Tasker...Never used the app, but sounds like something it could do.
I could also be wrong though.
Sent from my HTC 10 using XDA Labs
Yeah, it sounds like something Tasker COULD do. But as Boomsound is a specific HTC Setting im not sure if it there is a command for that.
Haven't really used Tasker for a while now.

How do I force set a default music player on my 5X?

I have DoubleTwist (for syncing to my PC) and BlackPlayer (for actually playing music) installed and would like to set BlackPlayer as my default music player. However, whenever I go to Apps > Configure Apps > Default apps, the only four lines I see are:
Browser App: Chrome
Phone App: Phone
SMS App: Textra
Could be a side effect of the new Marshmallow philosophy of "only ask for something (e.g. permissions) when needed, as there's no option to create a new default.
But I even opened an mp3 file from my downloads folder, got the prompt to select a music player, checked off "BlackPlayer" and "always" instead of "just once", and the Default Apps screen didn't change. Also, when I try to open a file manually, BlackPlayer says "Error loading track!" - though this may be a separate issue.
This is a problem, because I cannot start music playback with the screen locked most of the time (sometimes it works, but usually not) using my aux cord, which has inline volume and playback controls. If I try to use OK Google to play music, it says "you don't have a default app selected for playing music, please choose one on the screen at your convenience". But when I open the screen, there's no list of options, and if I say "play music" again it just brings up a search box showing search results for the Play Music app.
This is really starting to get on my nerves that I can't use the cord I bought with controls without first opening my phone and starting music playback manually. Anyone know how to force Marshmallow to automatically play from a specific app using controls?
