Can you now root the SM-G928A after it's been updated to Nougat?

No. It could be updated to android O and it still wouldn't be rootable because of the locked bootloader

What I read before is that somebody has the root for marshmallow 6 but it's not for public for some unknown reasons.

Good advice: Forget it...
Previous releases, the android vulnerability was used. The Marshmallow is big task, because it's most secure system so far. (therefore it doesn't work)
Moreover, to the all control points according, it is a malware.... I will not just install then neither, if it works well.
I received OTA update to marshmallow today on my H735 and can confirm Kingroot works in my model. No idea if it works on your model but no harm in trying

Yes. Updated for b360 via firmware finder when it came out. Then a couple weeks ago, b361 was released with some security patches. But unable to receive the final nougat build.

I was on beta at one point but in order to get OTA updates you can not be on beta. Use smart switch on your PC to downgrade to the latest official and then take the OTA update to Android 10

I installed the update through Odin. I was on the beta. No data loss. Everything works fine.

Poor showing from Sprint. Only reason I haven't ODIN'ed the update is because I'm too lazy.
