Phone is just barely getting warm when playing games, so there's a plenty of room for that, I just need some companion .
@Shreps, @scritch007, @Dreamstar, anyone else?

There will not be one.
You may try to do it yourself, check Extreme Kernel to see how he does it.

Well, in my case the first link is not very helpful, but I'll take a look at the second one. It's something :silly:.

Why not? There's an specific section on overclocking... You can try to adjust the Extreme Kernel values, and search for your tables on some source codes.
(SD415 is MSM8929)

Now I have headaches when I try to compile the kernel. XDA and other tutorials ars too "generic" - I cannot find find any solutions for errors I'm getting. Messing up blindly in source code will not help - I need some advices from people which made these kernels (Extreme and Vegito). I want to go with tweaking after this process will finally succeed.

[Q] Rhod100 FRX 7.1 CAMERA WORKING BUT....

Hi everybody
I post there because I'm not allowed to do so in "Xdandroid dev" section
Today, brinka123 posted a patch for Rhod100 camera's issue
Good new, the camera now works (excepted for exposure wich is not recalculated when zooming)
Bad new: Wifi no longer works...
Thanks to all devs my TP2 is near to have a new life...
I had a similar problem with my rhod300, I couldn't get wifi to work either, so I tryed deleting my data.img and after that it worked again.
HOWEVER, deleting your data.img will delete all of your phones settings/customizations. So I would advise to simply rename your data.img to something else and just letting the system create a new one on the next boot to android just in case it doesn't work.
Steps:
1. Boot into windows and connect to a computer
2. View the files on your phone and find the data.img and delete it.
3. Reboot into android and see if it works.
Hope this helps!

I think the problem is due to the use of an "old" kernell in wich Wifi was not fixed.
I saw on another forum that "Sir Brinka" attacked the problem only one month ago, starting from nothing!!!(well not exactly, but you see what I mean...)
Xdandroid devs are trying to reach him and submit his patch for a very next release.

Then.... update your kernell? Or am i misunderstanding?
Yes, that's it.
Actualy the problem is the modules wich fixes the camera have been made by someone and the best kernell have been made by another one.
The good modules must be integrated to the good kernell and the kernell must be recompilated.
To do so, the devs must have the sources of the modules (but Brinka is not of the dev team and seems having tons of problems to send his work to them).
When this will be done, we will have a new kernell working Wifi and camera "out of the box"
Thanks for the explanation littlebigtux, also the team can't or will not explain how the kernel is exaclty compiled, and with what toolchain and verion. I made a clone of 146 kernel (Wifi works) compiled it and outcome is not the same as the original kernel. That's why a different haret is needed also..
But I am happy the camera works on a 300 also !!!!!!!!
Lets wait for a new official kernel..
Realy the change is so simple.

Well, I certainly would be in the "can't" category.
It seems we need a wiki page of the complete kernel build process. We have a good one for the system image, but I don't think there's a complete end-to-end method/wiki page on how to compile a kernel.
I shall work with GlemSom and others to hopefully make a complete page on this topic.
Thanks for your hard work brinka123, I hope to see your patch soon!
Hi all! In last post from brinka123 in his thread i download his kernel version 3 and good news - wifi working, camera working, bluetooth pairing with my pc but i can't send file to phone. Audio bluetooth will test later.
Will be great if all developer start work together and they can make best kernel ever and soon all ported android devices can using NAND.
Hope on this.

I didn't no, but then again I'm not looking to port a kernel, so try asking your question in the section that's there to help, or read the material that's freely available using google (like I just did to see what's available) to help with your quest.

I cant find any tutorial on how to potr kernels. So Im asking it in a thread.
Sorry if I posted in wrong place, but no subforum for the Pro.
Hi! Developing kernels is way to different than just porting ROMs. Also you don't port kernels you develop them from scratch. There's no way to port a kernel into another device.
Here's a very2 basic tutorial on building kernel for Xperia but you still won't understand it without proper knowledge.
http://developer.sonymobile.com/wp/2011/05/06/how-to-build-a-linux-kernel/
Here's the source code.
http://dl-www.sonymobile.com/cws/download/1/105/457/8/1339505718/4_1_B_0_431_tar.bz2
Take note that source code doesn't contain any modifications compiling that right away would just leave you a replica of stock kernel without overclocking, volting, tweaks etc.
Kernel development is a critical part of android customization and anyone is not recommended to play with it even for average developers. It could harm your device to the point that it would burn out or explode.

My point was to try asking in the section dedicated to Android development, as you'll probably get better help or pointers than you will by posting it here, and if you've not found anything at all in regards to kernel building/porting then you're obviously not using google correctly.

WoW Riyal, who is this guy I see you everwhere, are you the BEST android developper???
Can u PLZZZ make Arc knight kernel for Xperia Pro ??? I have some money to donate if u want, or help me do and answering questions / problems im facing.
PLz reply thanks!
I'm not the best android developer in fact I am not an android developer.
I am a server administrator and a programmer and it's just I am also a linux kernel developer.
It just so happens that I am the only and sole android kernel developer which is this active for Xperia Pro. If you don't trust me feel free to approach any other developers like FXP and cross fingers that he would reply to you.
I'll try to look for any arc night sources if I found one I'll guide you if not then try ask the creator of arcnight for it's sources then I'll help you.
Ok here's a quick tutorial. I am not good at teaching things so I hope you understand that. I would also assume you have at least basic knowledge with linux and compiling stuff. If not then learn it first before proceeding.
1st.
You must have a linux machine. No windows only linux.
2nd.
download arcnight kernel sources here.
https://github.com/Jimbo77/Arc-Night-Kernel--4.1.C.0.7-/zipball/master
3rd.
go to kernel/arch/arm/configs/
You should be able to see lot's of config files there just pick these 2.
ArcKnight_defconfig
semc_iyokan_defconfig
4th.
Now compare both files make sure that everything in semc_iyokan_defconfig should be also in ArcKnight_defconfig
Ex. if a config in arcKnight says
# CONFIG_MACH_SEMC_IYOKAN is not set
while config in semc_iyokan_defconfig says
CONFIG_MACH_SEMC_IYOKAN=y
Then change arcknight's config and match it with iyokan's
5th.
Download eabi here.
https://sourcery.mentor.com/sgpp/lite/arm/portal/[email protected]=lite
6th
follow everything in here.
http://developer.sonymobile.com/wp/2011/05/06/how-to-build-a-linux-kernel/
7th.
in the line
ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=/opt/arm-2010q1/bin/arm-none-eabi- make semc_zeus_defconfig
Click to collapse
on sony's dev page change it instead to
ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=/opt/arm-2010q1/bin/arm-none-eabi- make ArcKnight_defconfig
Click to collapse
Done.
Note that I am not responsible if you brick your device. You are using a kernel made for Arc/Arc S and also I am not the developer of that kernel to assure you that it doesn't have any changes which would affect any specific device in any way.
I started and understand the setup etc. but not part 6, when I run terminal and type ''cd kernel'' it says
bash: cd: kernel: File or map doesnt exist

And if you really wanna overclock your cpu then go to CWM then wipe data and cache and install this file https://m.box.com/view_shared/4416a8124a843bb7d8df
download cpu master or no-frills cpu controll to manage frequency.
after overclocking your phone will run fast then before but your battery will drain fast then before and phone will be much hitted then before.
[and ofcourse you have to root your phone]
CMIIW but does Merruk Kernel available for OC? Cause I didn't know if Young could be overclocked..

Because the threads that contain the kernels don't start with [KERNEL] and have no information such as as whether or not they can be overclocked, where to download, or how to flash in the OP.
Seriously though, find the threads in either Android Development or Original Android Development (can't make it too easy) that start with [KERNEL] and read the 1st post.

True. Maybe some forum Admin would split the Development thread in two to not have these problems. Truth to be told, when I first saw Wanam's post, I really thought that he decided to develop for the N910F. Well, maybe next time .
Does anyone here know the exact difference between the c and the u variants? From New Zealand and we normally get the snapdragon versions of Samsung Galaxy phones, first time I've had an exynos based phone.
Freq for lte im sure. I have u variant also this should in theory work for us maybe a few line changes would work for our U note 4
