[email protected] and the OnePlus 3- Anyone running into any issues? - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Has anyone run across issues with the MobileIron SecureApps module not being found after previously working just fine on the most recent OxygenOS Beta 13?

Yes, Mine is constantly losing configs, saying its not registered but works again when a force check in is done.

You know how your work has the config set up? I just finished deploying for our work environment using android enterprise and it is working flawlessly with exception of a few add-on launchers. I run several different ROMs and it works on all of them.

I am not sure. Now that I am on OOS Beta 19 it only seems to happen much less frequently. I have found you can just go to the Secure Apps app, it will prompt you for your password, and that this is enough to get the other apps (Mail, Calendar, etc) to see the Secure Apps and allow login. My Help desk raised a ticket with MobileIron, who acknowledge that they are aware of the issue. Now that I know I can get access restored by logging into Secure Apps module, it is not a headache anymore.

Why do you use such piece of software on rooted devices?

I am not rooted. That is what the Secure App module checks.

So, mobile iron fixed this issue, I was reading through their android corner the other day. Should've posted the content here for you. When I get back to work tomorrow on Monday, I'll try and remember to post the fix.
It's pretty simple, just have to enable secureapps at startup, but can't remember where to do this.

From the Mobile Iron Support site:
Work Around
Enable Secure App Manager in App Auto-Launch.
On the One Plus device go to Settings > Apps
Click on Settings
Settings > Apps
Scroll down and click on App auto-launch
App auto-launch
Enable Secure App Manager
Enable Secure App Manager
Since I'm running AOSP, I'm not really running into any issues. I'm also using my device as a BYOD, but hopefully this helps.

I'm trying to install the [email protected] app on my device OnePlus 3 which is running on Oxygen OS 5 (Android 8.0.0), I'm getting similar error message. With Oxygen OS 5 there is no option to Enable Secure App Manager or modify App Auto Launch settings. What is the work around? Please help.

I checked the mobile iron forums and have not seen a work around for Oreo. Strange however, I have it installed and everything is running fine. Are you using the device in a BYOD environment or in a corporate owned state?
A lot of [email protected] has to do with the way it is set up (phone to server), so without knowing all of this information, I can't necessarily recommend any fixes.
Can you throw up some app settings and screen shots by chance? Please blur out any information before hand that is no one else should know.

[APP] Multi-User App Share

I have created an app that will help share apps across users on google's new 4.2 multi user feature.
Thanks to mentose457 and unwired for giving me the idea.
see this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994169)
It works by removing package elements from user's package-restriction.xml file to add the app and adding the package element back to remove the app. (located at \data\system\users\10\package-restrictions.xml where 10 is the user's id)
This is quickly thrown together and will likely have a ton of bugs, but I wanted to go ahead and get it out there for testing.
- This is BETA
-You must have ROOT
- This changes system data on non documented files it could screw something up.
- I'm not responsible for any problems this causes or lost data or bricked or broken devices
- please use cation
- it is currently built to run on main user to enable or disable apps on secondary users (once root is fully working on secondary users I will see about making it run correctly on secondary user's account)
- not tested thoroughly with paid apps*
- does not currently support system apps**
- due to the way I pull the app list from the package manager some installed apps may not show as available to add/remove
- apps installed first on a secondary user's profile will probably not show in the list to add/remove
*paid apps seemed to work but I did not have internet access during testing. My theory is that any paid apps that use Google's license verification will not work or not work for long. So adding your Google Account to the secondary user's play store is probably still the best way to share paid apps.
**The entries in the xml for system apps is different. Therefore I will have to research them more before getting it to work or deciding not to mess with those apps. Currently some will show not installed on other users even though they are and removing/adding them will not work correctly.
------> DOWNLOAD HERE https://play.google.com/store/apps/...tm_medium=forum&utm_campaign=app_announcement
I'd love to get feedback to what is working and what is not. Also if anybody figures out anything more about the package-restriction.xml file I'd love to hear it. Especially when it comes to system apps.
Thanks mate added my sons Google account and it is all running perfectly. Seperate saves and account details for apps and allowing me to share my paid ones with him
First review on play store is up.
Will have a mess around with apps and report back but it appears to be running sweet at the moment
Cheers danny...

I wanted to chime in as well. It is working on AOKP. Thanks again jeepguy04.
Looks like it's working for me too
Strange, I'm rooted. Using root apps such as cache mate, titanium & sixaxis.
Multi user app enabler says not rooted.
So does root checker??

I know, that's why I quoted the user I meant to answer
It wasn't meant as a negative comment, as I think this app is very useful.
I tried this with ten games and all worked fine (free and paid) except Retro Racing. It works with primary user but crashes with secondary user.

Do you think it is possible to have a shared folder for fotos and musik for multiple users?

Should work on any tablet running 4.2 (or phone if your custom rom enables the multiple user profiles)

Currently I only have it available in the market to tablets to avoid confusion for people wondering why it doesn't work with their phone. Maybe I will change that since only nexus devices or phones with custom roms are running 4.2. Those users tend to be a little smarter and know if their phone has multiple user profiles or not.
Here is a link to the apk for anybody that can't see it in the market.

The shared folder idea is interesting but beyond the scope of this app. Probably could do it with symlinks or something (not very knowledgeable in linux). Maybe I will look into it and either make another app or find a way to make it fit in with this app.
Yes. Symlinking the photos/music folders outside /data/ should work. But I don't have a 4.2 device(nor willing to set up an emulator) so I'm unsure.
Looking forward to trying on my p5113 CM 10.1

Google Play billing service is for accepting donations via in app purchase. Under settings anybody can donate if they feel the app has value to them... so far I've gotten two $1 donations...lol
network access is for connecting to internet for ads and also for ACRA (Application Crash Report for Android) it basically sends error reports to me to help fix errors. It can be disabled under settings if you do not want it reporting errors.

unable to complete previous operation due to low memory

I was trying to upload a picture to a forum and it kept Chrome kept giving me the message "unable to complete previous operation due to low memory". Why does it do this and how can I successfully upload the image? I took the image with the camera on the Tab so it's not too big.
Usually low memory means you have low ram storage the best thing to do is to use app killers if you are rooted or just close apps when you are done with them aka instead of using the home button press the back button

I figured one solution for this that has worked for me. While I was working on an issue with the android stock browser, I realized there was an issue with clicking on a hidden form field using jQuery. I used this method on a file upload spot so I could style the upload form.
Developer fix:
The way around this is to set opacity to 0, position absolute and hide the form element. Hope this helps.

Worked for me too.
So where do I find 'Developer tools' on my Nexus 5?
The above suggested solution has not worked for me. I have cleared all history, shut down all tabs, updated to the latest version of Chrome. I have even uninstalled apps I have recently installed such as AVG protection (not even sure I need that, can anyone tell me?) ..and I tried to install an app killer and boot manager, both of which won't work without first installing Xposed Framework and when I tried to install that (after half an hour trying to find it) my phone went mad with warnings about bootloops and bricks and asked me if I was sure..fair frightened me to deaths and I abandoned the whole idea!
Now can anyone help me to solve this problem?
I can upload to Facebook fine but any other forums I'm still getting the 'Could not perform previous operation due to low memory! I have over 11GB of storage and plenty of memory as I'm not running anything. As stated I have a Google Nexus 5 on Lollipop Help!
it woork thanks so much

Where do I go to find "Developer Options"?
To get devoloper options open,
goto settings,
about device or about phone.
Then start tapping on build version or build number until developer options becomes available.
press the back button.
you should now be in settings and developer options should be near the bottom of the list.

Yep. That did it for me as well. What the hell? That is just weird they require that to be off. You can download a video, but not upload a picture? I can also upload it to the actual apps. But when I tried on the browser....... Nope. Tf?! lol. But yeah. Thanks for posting that. I would've probably been forever lost trying to find out why it wont.
Figured out
Removed the option to kill apps after use in developers options and it all worked fine for me
Thank you!
Solution worked here, too!
Makes sense to me. As soon as you select the photo, the system dumps the procedure, causing it to fail, and giving us yet another cryptic error message.

I don't know app cloner, but if it enables you to run two instances of the same app with different settings, then there are a number of other apps that you can try. I personally use Island by Oasis Feng.

I tried that, and then I tried deleting the data of the app and restarting the device. Eventually rebooted the device into recovery and wiped cache through recovery. That didn't work. And also tried uninstalling the app, and then reinstalling. Can't get anything back up and working again. Sad story to say the least.
This error means that the Knox license is expired.
Same for me started a couple days ago, I emailed the dev but not heard back yet.
Same problem here, also mailed to developer.

You are right, ccswe base app is not listed, I am currently running android 10 CTD1, April patch, and ccswe is still working for me, I suppose the problem arises with the june patch, because of these types of issues, I have always blocked firmware updates, I unblock until I can verify that no issues are present

Hello guys,
I found a way to solve part of the problem ... You need to reinstall the same version of CCSWE APP MANAGER via apk, that way, all applications and services modified by it return to their original state. However, the Samsung knox problem remains in the application and it is not yet possible to use it.
I hope this helps!

I don't believe it will work. I am still on May's patch, and the issue exists. It is something on the app owners server/ side that is causing the issue for everyone. Trying to remember when I had a Knox key, I think it had to be renewed yearly.

Android 11 Beta Root?

Is the beta rootable thru the usual method? Or did I need to download a beta or canary version of Magisk?
Rooted the beta thru canary version of Magisk. The beta is definitely not a daily driver at this point. Almost all Google apps won't stay open. They just close, even in safe mode. Also, getting lots of random reboots.
Edit: Removing canary magisk has caused most of the issues I was experiencing to stop.
Yeah, get rid of that app or keep that app and use mirror versions of the Google Apps and manually update those as they come available. Google Play once it detects any one app on a huge list of "risky" apps Google will shut it down for "security " reasons, they have been known to blacklist accounts and or devices and completely wash any account attached to it for violation of "their piss poor security provisions") not sure how that's legal and it's completely b.s but whatever. There are all kinds of ways around it, it all boils down to, knowing what your doing, what to look for and basically manipulating the Google Apps or play store, it's really about how important is it to ya, because all the work around are time consuming and a pain in the ass at best, hope that helps?

I've been rooting my phones since I first got a Razr. I have never had an issue with Google's security. My guess is since we have to use a canary version of Magisk, it has got some bugs that need to be squashed
A majority of the issues is Google, it started around the first of the year, they are playing I'm your daddy and you will comply games. Samsung is getting ready at some point in the future to wash their hands of Google/Android and do their own thing over it and other issues. Google has gotten to big for their pee pants and all of us have started feeling the backlash of Google and their big daddy fight

Using beta Android and rooted it using the canary method. It's behaving pretty stable. On the first beta my phone was crashing and bootlooping (at lockscreen) as I had enabled the media resumption feature. But I was able to disable it from safe mode. But since beta 1.5 (June 17 update) it's working fine too.
Only issue I'm seeing (not necessarily to this update) I'm unable to have more than 2-3 apps in memory. They reload everytime. I guess 4Gb ram is too less

How did you load the beta, system update or flash factory image? I enrolled in the beta program and did the system update.

I was on a custom rom. So I had flashed a factory image and then a OTA for 1.5 beta.

At some point, I will clean flash and see if that helps. I only use root for ad blocking and the non-root methods aren't very good

Just simply go under settings to "Network & Internet --> Advanced (Or "More Connection Settings" on other phones) --> Select Private DNS mode --> Private DNS Provider Hostname --> type the following: dns.adguard.com and hit save. You are done! Now you have system-wide Ad blocking on all apps. It's that simple. No need for root or anything else. I've tried this on my Note 10 + 5G and my Pixel 3 XL and it works like a charm.

I had already added adguard in the private dns settings. While it does block ads, using energized pro with root is much more effective at blocking ads.
I did a clean install of Android 11 Beta and rooted again thru canary Magisk. Same issues with Google apps closing or acting sluggish. I decided to turn on Magiskhide for all things google and that fixed the issue. Looks like Google is clamping down harder on Magisk users

Installed the factory image (less -w) of 1.5 and latest canary. No issues at all with Google apps or any apps actually. Apparently its case by case.

Could be. My Pixel has been plagued with issues since I got it. Bought it off Swappa. The funny thing is if I revert to 9, the phone runs smooth.
I'm on beta and flashed the latest canary over the weekend. No issues to report with any app so far.

It's Android 11 working ok for "daily driver"? my concern it's for my banking apps my country has really really bad devs, and take like 10 months to fix stuff hahaha but it's reliable for a daily driver? i don't mind random crash times to times, and i guess is a "small" upgrade from android 10, I will wait next month the next beta

I've been using it as my daily driver. No major issues.

It's great for me. Signal strength took a bit of a hit, but otherwise no real issues that I can see.
For what it's worth to anyone wanting to try the beta 2 root, it doesn't work. After fastboot flashing the canary magisk (app-debug.apk) the digitizer stops working on boot. I'm guessing topjohnwu removed the other apk for that reason, but save yourself the effort until he gets the other apk out.
Edit: I was able to get past the "beta warning" popup, by plugging in a mouse, but outside of that workaround, the digitizer still doesn't work. Root DID take, but only with the digitizer caveat.
