Wallet cases that actually hold a normal number of cards and cash? - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Accessories

So, I'm looking at the wallet cases, not sure if I am going to buy one, but one trend I'm noticing. If the idea is the carry less and have your cards in the wallet with the device, why do so many of these only allow for 2 cards and cash? I don't understand who only carries 2 cards. On any given day I have to have the following:
Driver's License
Credit cards (sometimes 3-4)
Debit card (which I don't count in with my credit cards, because it's used a lot more frequently than with my credit cards, depending on what I'm buying and what kind of protection and where I'm going to use the card, is whether I use debit or credit card)
NYCID (which is different than driver's license because it gives me discounts at various places in NYC)
Insurance card (you know, because well, ouch can happen) Okay, just checked, this can possibly be avoided being carried as I can use the insurance app that has the card picture on it. Although, for whatever reason, doctor's offices seem to have never heard of electronic cards and always want to "xerox" the card.
Work ID (to, well, get into work)
Transit credit card (which allows me to recharge my Metrocard)
Metrocard (although, this can't really count as it's wafer-thin)
So, all told, I'm looking at about 7 cards in my wallet PLUS cash
WHO carries 2 cards and cash? Who are these "wallet cases" made for exactly?

they sent me a 15% off code so that brings the price down to $34.00 with free shipping.
what color do you recommend? I was looking at the gold one but don't know if that's too ghetto/bling?

Anyone seen the official samsung wallet cases that have an LED display when closed? Really kind of cool looking:
http://www.mobilefun.com/60889/samsung/galaxy-s8-plus/cases/wallet.htm (scroll about 5 cases down for the various colors)

Want to see a REALLY BAD name for a component on an otherwise okay wallet case:
http://www.cm4.com/shop/p-120-galaxy-s8-wallet-case-q-card-case-for-galaxy-s8-s8-plus.aspx
Seriously, they use the term "Natural Throw Buttons" to describe the buttons that overlay the actual device buttons through the case. I'm guessing they let the guy who failed ESL name the feature THAT day.

So, I put this case from their site in the cart and didn't buy it. It's $39.99 on their site, Amazon is selling them for $16.99 and yet because I didn't buy it yesterday, their site sent me a 10% off code. I sent them an email asking if they'd do a pricematch with Amazon for the price because why would I pay ~$35 if I can get it using prime from Amazon for ~$17?

32gb MicroSD card < $20

I was looking into cheap 32 gb cards and found a website called DHGate, a chinese bulk supplier.
Anyways...
Link
I was thinking of buying around 10 and reselling 8 or 9 online/locally.
What does everyone think?
Most likely fake, try ebay instead. At least you will get ebay/paypal protection

I've purchased from them before. There a wholesaler so you're right you have to buy in bulk. There just like Alibaba. Those are only class 2 cards too. I found lowest price 32gb > class 2 for $72 on NewEgg and those others are $188 for 10. I would turn them over for $50 a pop and make a killin'.
Why not make some cash I was thinking the same thing about the battery and charger thread ha ha.

Hey guys, I would read this:

It looks like nothing but headaches from this company. Also looks like most/all stuff is counterfeit.

That's strange. I ordered a bunch of memory from them before and I received it no problem. Of course it takes almost a month to reach you because of customs. I'll make sure not to do business with them again after seeing that. Thanks for the heads up.
I just ordered one of these today:
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260631752949
At best it's an incredible deal. At worst, I find out what it's like to go through the Paypal protection policy.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing, however, for $21 and a guarantee from both Ebay and Paypal...you really have nothing to lose.
The model number they quote on the page is the model number of the actual Sandisk chip, though they could have easily pulled that information from the website for their fake product. They also say it is a class 4 (yay!)
I'm thinking of trying them out just for the hell of it!
Anything coming from china is fake. Thats why everything they sell is so cheap. If you think its real then your on crack. Dont buy anything from china.
amazon usually has pretty good deals on sdcardds
Either way, I don't feel I have much to lose at 20 bucks. Even if PayPal falls through, my credit union will refund me outright because it's under 25 bucks and I wouldn't even have to return it.
So how would we be able to tell if this is fake anyway?
I just got mine in the mail. Will update with transfer speeds and impressions once I get home tonight.

If you bought one of those $30 32gb MicroSD cards it is likely fake. It may appear to be 32gb when it is placed in your pc/phone but it will not correctly store data over its true capacity. If you could please use h2testw (google it) and run the full test to verify the authenticity of your card. I bought a Sandisk 32gb MicroSD from expansys and verified it using this program.
I would recommend you guys don't waste money on these cards as counterfeit items are huge in China. 32gb of the memory used inside these cards would probably be close to if not more then the cost you are paying. So apply a little common sense here.
Ive never had any issues with china. Bought a kingston cruzer 200 128gb usb 2.0 drive for 29 dollars and it works as needed. 19 mb/s write speed and 25 read. Its a beast. And yes Ive tested its full capacity on multiple occasions. Works great.
As to your question, I have download your test software (h2testw) and am running it now. Will report when finished.
Initial tests with sdcard test on evo reports it as class 2, 3 mb/s write (not great, but it is large enough to compensate), but still getting a 12 mb/s read.
Once you get over 2gb of stuff on the card report back if the files are broken or not.
I have heard that they show as 32gb, but once you pass 2gb the files become broken, and if you format the card it formats to 2gb.
It's a rip off.
at 9 gb so far on the h2test2 program. no issues.
Where exactly did you order that card from though? Was it the ebay link provided in this thread?

32GB SD Horror!

My wife lovingly purchased one of the 32GB Micro SD's from Ebay as a gift for me. It was from an American seller who swore that every card was tested and verified as good. I am on my second card and I suppose Aria's just don't like generic 32GB cards made (ripped off) in China and sold in the states. Almost every file that I copy to the card (through the phone's USB) comes out corrupt....if it copies at all...I will try to listen to an Alkaline Trio song and end up with splices of Avenged Sevenfold in it. I am going to purchase an SD card reader and see if copying files directly to the card (cutting out the phone as the "middle man") will help...but I doubt it will. All I can say is BEWARE!!!
If anyone has any ideas, they will be most appreciated!
Care to link to the specific one you got, or tell us what markings are on the SD card itself?
There are a lot of fake SD cards out there. Even if it has a name brand on it, it could be fake. Usually they are functional but pretty crappy performance-wise. I would probably avoid buying SD cards from anywhere besides reputable retail/online stores.

Return the 32 GB card and purchase a good card from Amazon. I recommend the SanDisk 8 or 16 gb card (class 4 or better).
When you buy from eBay, you're taking a chance. Especially if the product comes from China.
Look on the bright side - your phone is fine - SD cards can be easily replaced...
.
Been there done that. Buy only from a reliable source. I bought the same thing and same place. Good music I see. My old band "already dead" played with avenged back in the day here in socal. Good luck with sd card.

I had the same thing happen to me. I bought my card from Buy.com but it was fulfilled by third party. I ran h2testw to verify it was a hacked 2GB card to look like a 32GB card. I contacted buy.com and the direct seller and he paypal refunded me the purchase no questions asked.
h2testw basically writes verifies in 1GB blocks. the hacked card looks like it writes fine, but when you try to access the files you get corrupted data which sounds like what you had.
Buy another sd card

I was not referring to the country of manufacture.
The product itself was shipped from China and was described as a "rip-off" type of product.
I always suggest buying products from a reputable dealer and manufacturer. You may pay more, but you will most likely have better customer service and a better product.
...
Could you quote the seller's name? Hope you got it fixed by now
I'm sorry to hear of your bad experience. That is usually why I stay away from eBay and China as a lot of their products tend to be poorly constructed and have issues with operation (many are counterfeit).
When buying memory cards and batteries, I tend to side on "Name brand" and purchase from trustworthy sites to ensure my product is not a counterfeit.
Hope you got your problem sorted!

I just bought the same one! You can get 10 dollars off (to make it $39.99) if you buy it with a new account. Use the promo code NEWCUSTOMER10. You have to add something small to the order to get it over 50. I went to Newegg gear and added a Newegg wristband, as it was the cheapest item with free shipping.
I wouldn't buy any cards off Ebay. There's as much incentive to sell rigged cards as there is demand for high capacity. My roommate just bought a 32 GB off Ebay and he got lucky. Make sure that the seller offers returns and when you get it immediately run h2testw.
I just have one question for the OP..
Are you feelin lucky?

My wife and I picked up Patriot sd's from Micro Center... I think they were $39 they work pretty awesome. Price wasnt bad at all compared to online prices. it seems like it is luck of the draw on the Generic ebay ones so we stayed away from those.
Fakes are extremely common for flash memory on ebay, especially on any kind of "OMG WHAT A DEAL!" type of things. The fakes are usually a 2GB card that's had a 3 painted on it in front of the 2, and hacked firmware to make it appear to be 32. But when you try to fill it, it won't let you, because it's still just a 2GB card.
Basically, if it's substantially below the going rate from reputable sources (looks to be roughly $60-80), you're going against probably 80-90% odds that you'll get a fake.
I made the mistake of buying one and I can put 32 gb worth in info on there but when I put it in the phone it can't access it.
I wouldn't buy from anyone but a trusted source and right now I wouldn't buy one for less than about $50.00.
In a year or two they'll be going for $25.00, but right now anything that cheap is bound to be a fake that doesn't actually hold anywhere near 32GB.

true story
16gb class 10 (14.8 formatted)- ~$35
32gb class 10 (formatted size unknown)- ~$82
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004H8FTCK
i bought the 16gb c10 and it shipped fast and works perfectly for me. it is a real card, not a rip off too. sdtools (i think its called) for android said it has a r=10-12.5mb/s w=20-25mb/s or something in that range (been a while since i uninstalled the app). never had a problem and i highly recommend it, the 16gb one atleast since thats the only one i can speak for.
Patriot class 6 32gb micro SD card from Fry's for $69 about 3 months ago.
It's legit, not like the fakes on Ebay. Google it. You will find out the truth. Even if you pay near to the going price, you run the risk of getting a fake. IMHO, it's just not worth the hassle.

The only advice you can be given is to purchase from a reliable retailer. Once you get the card, you need to check if it runs as advertised. If it is a class 10, check if it reads and writes at class 10 speeds. If it doesn't, well it is safe to say it is fake.
If the price of the card is more than 15-20% less than the average from the major internet retailers, then I would think twice about it. Also stay away from Off Brands. Stick to SanDisk, Patriot, A Data, etc. Expect to pay anywhere from $60-$100 depending on vendor and class card.
CompUSA has a SanDisk 32GB class 2 for $55. The Patriot 32GB class 10 can be had for $75 ($90 with a $15 rebate)
ONLY buy from authorized retailers, like NewEgg. If you aren't sure if the place you are trying to buy from is authorized, check the manufacturer's site.
NEVER EVER buy memory cards off ebay, even if they claim to be new. It's so easy to take a 2gb card, paint a number 3 on it, and make it look like a 32gb card.
I make sure I stay away from eBay.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Yeah, it's really as simple as buying from a reputable source (not ebay) and following the "if it's too good to be true" principle on price.

i fell for a fake again
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-32GB-Mi...291177?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3f0d1309e9
the posting looks legit, it even comes with a package, lol
he ships fast, i ordered it friday and it showed up via usps this morning, but i was a fake.
it was a 32GB microsd card for $30
What was fake about it. Was it not really a 32GB card? There are not really any other claims (brand, class, etc) in the posting.
that's obviously a fake. It's not a name brand (and as far as I know, sandisk and kingston are the only two brands with a 32gb card right now). Its in a generic package, and there is no name labels on the card itself.
Again, do NOT buy 32gb cards on ebay, its just not worth it. ONLY buy from authorized retailers.

[Q] alternatives where i can buy a nexus phone

Get a credit or debit card in the U.S.? Any card, any bank you want. Hell go buy a pre-pay card off the rack at CVS and buy it with that. They will sell them to anyone unless of course you have no legal US or State Government Identification, in which case YOU TOOK OUR JAAAAWBS!

Can you not use Mexican Credit cards locally? It is cheaper to buy them here in the stores than from the play site. You just have to get the 16gb. Can you get a 16gb at a regular store? It's going to be 250+ tax but you will save no paying shipping. I assume Best Buy takes any CC from any country.
Well in other stores i can buy with this card, i bought online with this card at macys and other online store and i just pick up in my adress in USA. Can you answer these few questions about amazon?, it looks interesting but in amazon i have to pay tax? How many days can i have it? How much it cost in playstore? ( adding tax and shipping)
Tax depends on where you live. Shipping to the US usually takes about 3-5 days, international may take more, I don't really know for certain. You can find out how much it will cost in the play store by adding it to your cart and checking out. If will display the full price before you enter your payment info, so you can just close the website and the transaction will not go through.
Not sure if this helps you, but Best Buy has the Galaxy Nexus for free right now, with the signing of a Verizon contract.
OP lives in Spain, so no Verizon network.

Well then your only choice might be amazon. They have used GNex's in the $350 range, and new ones in the $400 range if you are willing to shell out a little extra. I purchased mine from Amazon because factoring in shipping, it would have been cheaper for me than buying through Play Store.

I've used a debit card to fill up a prepaid card before. It might vary from country to country? I did it just yesterday in fact, filled up a Visa prepaid debit card with $100 using my bank-issued debit card.

Well I tried once here in the states and was told it was illegal. Maybe the clerk was just retarded.
Using the address of the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA, the total came out to $390.04. You may want to add $400 just in case it costs a little more to ship to wherever you are.
