Phone hangs irrespective of the custom ROM. - Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus Questions & Answers

I tried Lineage and AOSP roms on my vibe k5 plus. Use ARM64 pico open gapps. Both are very laggy. The phone is slow, it hangs, app crashes, restarts and switches off automatically. Its completely not compatible with any ROM.
All i did was flash twrp, took a backup of stock rom, wiped the phone and flashed ROM and gapps. (Did not unlock bootloader)
Please suggest some solution.
Thank You.

How's the temperature?Might be thermal throttling...
Also, post your variant.

The temperature goes more than normal whenever it automatically restarts.
Variant: A6020a46 (3GB RAM).

There will be lag if use the ROM for the first time and it will heat during first use if that's not the case then u must be using a custom kernel or try kernel auditor and low the processor speed them check it .The heat might subside but it might be laggy and do note our processor do heat more than other processors

LG G Pro E988 Cyanogenmod Reboot Problem

Hi. Im using LG G Pro E988 variant. I'm trying to flash cyanogenmod 12.1 nightly version. Everything went well and all but i got a problem where the phone likes to reboot itself. So i try to clean everything with the usual stuff (wipe data, even wipe system, cache, etc) and re-flash the same. The issue still persists so i thought maybe it's the problem lies within the cm12.1 itself so i move a step back. I flashed the latest Cyanogenmod 11.2 Snapshot version that was available from their site. The issue still happened and i got no clue what's going on. On my stock kitkat ROM, this issue never happened.
Anybody got the same problem? Thank you before

well i think i did try wild kernel with cm12.1 latest nightlies. The issue gotten worse. More random reboot occured.
Currently on slimLP with his zerkernel v1.7. I thought this one is perfect, but then out of nowhere the random reboot occured again. It's not as frequent as before but still happen.
Right now I'm using Mokee with wild kernel and everything is going well.

Random rebooting is a common issue with all the cm 12.1 based ROM for lg ogp. The cm12. 1 in my opinion was never fully stabilized even by the time the devs were starting to switched to the newer hardwares. If you keep the number of apps you unstated to minimum, you may be able to keep random rebooting down, but this just my observation. I thought the latest bliss pop 4.03 had the rebooting issues sloved, but it rather just had the occurrence down to where it's less. But there are other issues such as the device getting extremely hot, which in turn causes shutdown. To the point where I give up on using LP once again on this device, and move back to kk. The kk may be an older rom, but at least it's stable. With the LP, I think issues with it unable to find the sim card, GPU issues that cause screen to flicker and blackout, all are never fully fixed. Rather, those issues were patched and rigged to make the rom run, but not smooth enough where you see issues such as rebooting and overheating.

Yeah, i think the issue are only on cyanogen based ROM. When i use the lolipop such as Super Mini V6.5 by henrypham91 and lgviet team, it's all good. Deep sleep normaly, no sound delay when game on 2D graphics, and all. But then again, it's noticeably slower if you compare against CM head to head. I really love CM or AOSP based rom because they are so fast.

Their website has an English version. There should be a British flag on the upper right side. Then download their history zip which is a kind of final release.

Bootloop on any custom ROM

I've had this device for a week now and it only works properly on stock ROM 3.2.6.
Using Grarak's TWRP I installed,
1- Official RR
2- Official CM13
3- Sultanxda's CM13
4- FreedomOS 1.5.1
On all these ROMs the device randomly goes into Bootloop and stays there until I remove the sim cards. This mostly happens when I try to open a Viber or text message. Also occasionally when I remove a phono lead.
Each install was a clean one with Xposed using the same exact apps that I run on my Nexus 5.
Another strange issue is after a Nandroid restore it gets stuck on boot.
I have requested RMA for refund but was curious as to why I had these problems. As a long time android user this been one of the most problematic phones that I've had.
Maybe try the latest official twrp and see if you can recreate the issues.

d855 random freezes, then reboot (in all ROMs)

Hello people! I have strange problem.
Yesterday my phone freezes and rebooted, SIM was not working. I was on 30.3. 2106 cm nightly.
From that time, my phone randomly freezes and then immediately rebooted.
Before that, I was playing with CPU governor values, can that damage hardware? (No heat or something like that, but SIM)
Tried many cm13 builds, aosp's, fulmics, cloudy, another kernels, reflahed modem, another battery..
Every ROM was after clean install, apps installed from play store, few with restored data, tried with and without them, same with Xposed, doesn't matter anything.
Anyone know what is it? My phone leaving?
Sorry for bad English. Thanks David.
Tell us, which baseband version you have.
Only 21c on cm13 works. So this one.
OK, I had the same problem too.
I fixed it by removing Kernel Adiutor (yeah, Kernel Adiutor). Then I installed V21C (13.2-00002) modem and rpm/tz partitions (V21C too) posted by @Step-han right here.
I don't know how it works on cm but I'm using stock mm and it works good
Let's try it! I will post results
@jaro1221 It works! Thank you man! Maybe it was caused by installing Fulmics, which reflahed modem.
Thanks!
Having this same problem, first the sim not detected, then from a couple of days apparently random freezes and reboots that persist across stock based and aosp/cm Roms. But I noticed that the freezes and reboots occur only when the device is warm. Not hot, warm as in if the CPU temp is above 60° C. If it is below 60, the phone can be used for hours without a problem. Any ideas? Could it be hardware related? I've used for months my g3 , and it rarely crossed the 70° , and did not have this problem. I'm using a d855 16 GB if that matters.
Update: Just in case this could be useful for someone. First,my device got worse,it couldn't boot at all even while cold. it could not get past the lg logo, not in rom,not in recovery. I fixed my problem, maybe temporary, by using some folded aluminium foil. I opened the phone, and put some of it between the mother board and the display, in the same place where you can apply the thermal mod,and then some other between the board and the back case, under the place where the power and volume buttons are. I closed the phone and it booted up, I'm using it for half a day now, installed some games, played while monitoring the CPU temperature. It can go up to 70 degrees and it did not freeze, nor reboot as far. I rebooted some times myself to test if it would detect the sim card, and it had no problem so far,but maybe it is to soon to tell. So... I will update if something happens.

[Solved][HELP] A6020a46 always rebooting after change default 4G/3G subscription

Since I have bought my K5 plus A6020a46 in stock ROM & kernel it never rebooting if I changing the 4G/3G subscription in settings>sim management.
But now my K5 plus rebooting after changing the default4G/3G subscription.
Actually it happen after I flashing vegito kernel 4.0, even after I flashing the updated vegito 5.2, it still rebooting if I change the 4G/3G subscription.
And the matters is when it finish rebooting, it feels like resetting all app data/preferences, e.g the WhatsApp asking to relogin, but none data is lost(gratefully).
I'm running stock ROM, and flashed vegito 5.2 kernel via twrp.
I hope there's anyone can help me anyway.
Sorry i can't find any log, so i've flashing fresh custom rom after the last reboot end with bootloop.

Question Freezes and crashes with custom ROMs

Hey,
I have some minor and major lag issues (freezes and crashes), sometimes I even have to force restart the phone.
It happens with most of the customs ROMs that I have tried (HavocOS, ShapeshiftOS, Pixel Extended, etc.) but not every ROM (the only ones where it doesn't occur are ArrowOS and xiaomi.eu I think)
Even after flashing multiple times (mi flash + Clean flash), it happens with multiple apps, so I don't think it's apps related (maybe magisk or TWRP), and not ROM too.
Is anyone facing those issues, or is there any solution or thing that I can do to solve this problem.
Also, I'm having issues collecting logs because it is happening randomly and when it happens the log app I use crashes, but it is always the same issue (ANR Input dispatching timed out (...))
I have one set of logs where I got freeze (5-10 seconds) multiples times, I will attach the file.
I can provide anything to help solve this annoying problem.
Thanks in advance
faced that problem too with app Greenify (xiaomi.eu rom + Twrp Alpha +Magisk 23)
Still a pain to have to deal with that, is anyone here ready to help ?

Don't use it. That and Hyperion were on my stock Note 10+ that got boot looped twice, back to back, grrrrrr. Removed both on the 3rd load and still running that load over a year latter.
When you're seeing that kind of behavior you're just one reboot away from a boot loop
Havoc os was the only ROM with freeze's after the phone went in sleep mode, apps like YouTube freezing then. But on the other roms I didn't had that and i tested everyone on havoc I have installed the ROM 2 times with different firmwares but always a freezing of apps after deep sleep

I have been having similar issues. I'm from the US and it happens often when I am using mobile data.

All pixel based custom roms crash while I'm on mobile data. I think it's a modem issue.

Same here in BC. I have found it seems to happen with LTE with ArrowOS (I haven't tried any other custom ROMs). I haven't had the problem occur at all on H+.
If you are rooted, check /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops, or dump logcat/bugreport if you aren't rooted, and search for "crash". On my device, it says that my modem crashes which causes every CPU core to stop and reboot.

I will try that later, thanks
I got that if it can helps
After some research, I think the problem is caused by @manuelbianco tree for alioth, that is widely used and correspond to which ROMs I have problem with.
Still doing some research on how to solve this because it removes ROMs that would like to use.
If anyone knows anything, I would like to hear it.

yes. That tree has some instabilities. Unfortunately most alioth developers are using that tree. You can try hentaios and arrowos. They are not using that tree

Yes I know, but I in my opinion there are not the best, hope it will be fixed soon enough.
i think i finally found a solution, if you have magisk installed, i reccomend uninstalling it and giving up root, because i did it and the freezing stopped, maybe trying an older model or just giving up magisk overall will stop the freezing, but i did remove magisk and the freezing stopped, completely. also, remove any custom kernels to prevent more freezes and other shenanigans from happening, cheers.
I am facing the same issue for a long time now. Others with same device(Poco X3) didn't have any problem, it's just me and it sucks!!!
