I am looking for a LineageOS / CM / AOSP gallery app that literally has one feature: Display my photos based on their folder..
Guess I'm too old fashioned for Google Photos, so I would really appreciate an alternative

Why not? Is because of copyright or other technical problems?
I love CM10 but I hate it doesn't have t9 keyboard, the camera miss lot of options, also the video recording is not smooth, 720p resolution is gone, 3d panorama or panorama is not there also least can we take that feature out of it? Also, the CM10 address book is a nightmare, I can't select several contacts and send an sms, or easy edit a contact, this are primary aspects of the phone usage that really makes CM10 a mess, The music player Apollo also is not that great since it don't save the album images, making it show empty photo library almost everytime...
Shouldn't custom Rom make a better Android experience?

One of the most popular features introduced Monday with Android 4.2 was a revamped camera/gallery app (that we got a peek at early). The camera introduces a new focus/settings UI (popping up with an "options ring" only when you need it), a refreshed gallery interface, and of course – Photo Sphere.
Photo Sphere, for those who missed it, allows users to capture 360° images of their surroundings a la Google Maps, using XML data in concert with an enormous JPG file to help you save an immersive photo experience of where you've been.
The interface, which is activated from the camera app, is an ethereal grid plane that will guide you with helpful blue dots to each frame needed for a full sphere. Besides viewing your spherical creations on your handset, you can upload the images to Google+ for a web-based 360 experience.
As I mentioned earlier, the downloadable camera/gallery app also comes with editing options. Many of these are options we saw debuted in Ice Cream Sandwich, but it's still worth taking a quick look.
Users can add general filters, frames, and contrast effects, in addition to custom cropping, rotating, mirroring, and a handful of other handy editing features.
The build also includes a slightly refreshed Gallery. It has the same launcher icon and overall functionality like swiping from the camera app to a "filmstrip view," but the UI is slightly updated from its 4.0 and 4.1 counterparts.
To get the new camera/gallery on your device, you'll first of all need to be rooted. Assuming your device is already rooted, you'll just need to download the zip below and flash as normal.

i tried works like charm on chameleon rom.......photosphere and video rec is giving me fc other than that everything is perfect
i did and working file on paranoid 2.52 with dorimanx kernel

everything works great on sensation 4 (4.0.4) , but the videorecording gives FC

SGS2 with CM10 nightly: Video not record, photos 8MB are OK, photosphere working...but when is Rendering panorama finished, show me window with FC. Is any way to show photosphere images in 3D view as on Streetview?

pressing the record button again, makes the phone stuck... gallery also stuck if i press the special button.
UNINSTALLED via titanium backup.

Hi everybody, I've flashed the New Camera/Gallery on AOKP Build.03, have problem with it, there's no Preview images but it captures !

downloaded and flashed today at lunch. first it rebooted weird and killed half my battery but after another reboot all was ok. camera is there and new ui is nice. Photsphere wants to work but i dont quite get it. It seems hard to line up the first dot sometimes and then where to go? The most i got was a few images stitched together, its not quite right yet or i am doing it wrong.
I am running slimbean 2.8

What is the max resolution of pictures? Sphere files seem to be much less detailed and sized in Sphere mode

The biggest problem is the camera, very poor quality, is there any way to install the original camera back with this ROM???
And another question about the walkman app, can i install it with her widget as well?
Why don't you install paranoid android.... Its the same ...a bit better...my opinion... And the camera works!!

the 6.1.A.2.55 update, has a great improvement for the camera.
there is also a zip of the 4.2 camera floating around
I didn't say that the camera don't work,i say that it have very poor quality.
Can you upload the camera apk? I can't find it.
And what about the walkman? Is it possible to have it with my ROM?

You can't install the Sony camera on any AOSP based ROM. The camera app, just like many other things, relies on the Sony framework, which isn't present on those ROMs.

it maybe sounds silly, but the Samsung Gallery App is the best Gallery App I've ever used. So now I have a OnePlus 3 with CyanogenMod 13 as ROM and I want to have Samsungs Gallery App on my new Phone. Is this possible? I haven't found a way to do it. I'm happy about every good meant answer!

Hi,
I am currently using one plus 6 pie 9.0.6 .. The gallery app is kind of bloated with extra functionality..i still prefer the gallery app from one plus 6 oreo (last stable version) ..i am currently using your noughat gallery app..but it has done issues in pie..it automatically zoom out when i try annotation.. Also some stuttering when annotating.. Could you please release a modded oreo gallery apk.. That would be really useful..
