S8+ Charge and Audio dock - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Accessories

Having seen the DEX dock and been rather impressed. I am lead on to another question.
I currently use a samsung dock for my s6 at work which has been modified by me to have a 3.5mm jack added so I can have audio, charge and be able to use my phone hands free while working. My question being will there be one that can have charge and audio via the 3.5mm jack for the S8+, a quick google doesn't shed much light!
Cheers, and next Thursday/Friday can't come quick enough, I want my S8+ already!

[Q] OEM Desktop Dock: Does it work with microphone headsets?

I'm looking at buying the overpriced desktop dock when it's available again, but I use a moshi moshi desktop phone since I'm on the phone all day quite frequently and holding it up to my ear kills me. (I don't like regular bluetooth headsets for a number of reasons as well.)
My question is simple: can someone with the dock (and 4.0.3+, apparently) test if a microphone-enabled headset works with that port? On the Nexus One, the port wasn't even physically able to take a 3.5mm with mic, so I still had to plug the phone into the top of the phone. On the desktop dock, that's impossible since the jack is concealed by the dock.
Thanks in advance!
Just looking at the dock pictures you can see it's the same as the Nexus One, it completely blocks the 3.5mm headphone jack.

That's because the dock has a headphone jack. But does that jack work with a microphone headset?
Apparently, they labeled that jack as headphone, no mention of mic or combo port, so i think we can assume it'snot supported.

S3 audio out with audio control with female connector (for car aux-in)

Hi all,
I have seen some threads in the accessory subforum but they mainly talk about headphones with audio controls. I was looking for something different.
When I had Galaxy S, I used to use this guy here which used to give me call-accept/cancel+track stop/play/fwd function. The other end of it used to go to my CAR aux-in. It also had a mic so helps me talk as well. All in all a great piece. Unfortunately it doesnt seem to work for S3.

Anybody has any suggestions ?
Thanks a lot.
Here are some, but they are bluetooth, so not required to plug into your phone.

Or you can get these bluetooth headsets and simply unplug the headphones and plug it into your car's Aux-In. However, they run on batteries, so need to charge them.

[Q] Who here is using a DAC & MHL? [EDIT - SOLVED - USE USB OTG INSTEAD]

I'm not an "audiophile", but I probably have more critical ears than most when it comes to quality sounds. And the GSIII isn't impressing me like I hoped it would. So I'm looking to squeeze as much out of the GSIII experience as possible, while also getting a good music experience.
So, I ditched Bluetooth and finally got USB audio when docked (thank you, CM).
But still not really impressed. Now I'd like to try these DAC things. But I have zero experience with these.
What I want is to store all my 320kbps MP3's and my FLAC's on my phone. And be able to hook my phone up to my car stereo, garage stereo and home stereo's.
One thing that concerns me is the car experience. How do you guys handle things like call audio and system sounds and GPS navigation voice?
Is it like with Bluetooth & USB audio where you hear everything without having to change inputs?
So if I plug my phone into an MHL and plug that into an HDMI to digital audio converter and plug that into a DAC and plug that into my car stereo's 3.5mm or stereo RCA input, I know that I'll get great/better music (right?!?).
But will I also get call audio and system sounds and navigation voice through that same DAC input to the car stereo? Or will I have to change an input for this to happen?
edit: Forgot to mention that I have no interest in video output at all. All I want is to get digital audio out of my phone! And I'm running a CyanogenMOD hybrid ROM.
edit #2: Oh snap, what is this USB OTG thing? Looks like something I need to research. Could be a way of getting digital audio out of phone without messing with some of the other crap.

EDIT #3: Yep, looks like a USB-OTG is all I need to connect my phone to a DAC. See attached pic.
Now just need to research and figure out if there is a way to charge the phone at the same time.
Edit #4: Kk, it looks like you can plug a DAC into your phone and have the phone also charge at the same time. This thread talks about it and also points to the $6 MHL adapter that is capable of doing this:

edit #5: Found a USB OTG cable with Y-cable to charging, for sale here in the USA for just $4 more than the Chinese folks. I just ordered it.
Now to buy a DAC (found a FiiO E7 on local craigslist for $35).

Cheaper Audio Dock Alternative

Hey everyone, I've been searching for a cheaper alternative to the expensive desktop dock samsung sells. It will mostly be used as a clean audio out for speakers and headphones, charging and sync would be a plus. Does anyone know of a good alternative out there? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
im no pro at this, but it seems like the best kinda thing is gonna have to use the 3 mm audio jack as a trick to do it.
as an example, if you ebay "Loud Stereo Dock Station Speaker for iPod iPhone 3G/4 4S MP3 Android Phone 3.5MM"
I have a digital AV Receiver with HDMI inputs and bought the HDMI dock from Samsung for less then 15€. The digital audio signal via HDMI can be used even without video output.

Yea that's basically what I'm looking for, a dock with 3.5mm audio out and has the ability to charge + sync would be nice. I actually found a cheap 10$ one on ebay and a 30$ one on amazon from samsung themselves which isn't too bad, both that claim to do just that, so we'll see. I would post links but the forum wont let me until l I have 10 posts. Apparently there's an app that will allow me to use the usb audio out function straight from the phone which would be awesome, then I can bring in a DAC and amp into the mix.

Yea I thought of that as well, and I may get one of those too to hook up to my hdtv but as for speakers and headphones the 3.5mm audio out would be key

Accessories Recommended USB to headphone adapter

OK, this question is not specific to the Fold, but as this is my 1st phone without a headphone jack, I'm asking it here.
What USB-Headphone adapter do you recommend?
I have a set of Panasonic earbuds which sound good (especially with the ear cushions from my previous set of Sony Earbuds), and I'd like to keep using them.
My Buds+ won't stay in my ears inside my hearing protectors while I'm out mowing, and my Sony wireless earbuds are too large to even try.
Plus wired buds won't drain the phone battery as much as bluetooth buds will.
Hey, pTeronaut!!
To help you with a recommendation, I've searched and found some USB to Headphone adapters on BestBuy. These prices are $9 to $20. Some reputable branded adapters you can purchase for your need like. Apple USB to Headphone, Insignia, Samsung USB type. I have attached some pictures look and get your favorite one.

I bought this mostly because it was cheap and would let me charge at the same time. It seems to work well

My old Google Pixel 2 USB-C dongle works fine
I have been looking for one WITHOUT DAC. Since the DAC built in the phone is AKG Tuned, should be a Hi-Fi!
