[hidden settings] - UMi Z Guides, News, & Discussion

There's allot of settings that isn't enabled or being hidden in android some of them can be useful post your findings in this topic
So far I've found some extra navigation bar modes (activity launcher)
As u see this has 4 modes instead of two and this includes navigation layout with drop down button for notifications.
How to enter to setting.
You can use launcher like nova to create a shortcut but I use activity launcher.
Open activity launcher select all in the list.
Scroll down to settings and press on it once.
Now scroll down to navigation bar and you'll see two options. The setting activity I've cluttered is the settings you should select to gain this setting. If I can ill try modify so it'll be enabled in regular navigation bar setting.

Nova Launcher issue on Nexus 4

I'm having a problem with Nova launcher on my Nexus 4. I don't seem to have access to some of the advanced options. I can see the expandable 'Advanced' header, but when I click it, the arrow flicks downwards, but I'm not able to scroll down any further so can't access any further options.
I've added a photo to try and show the issue.
Any suggestions?

You have to buy the prime version or the key..
Sorry. Should have added that I have the prime version already.

Hmm, it works for me. Note that the arrow points *up* when the list is expanded. Might try restarting the launcher (or phone, if that's not possible). If all else fails, you could backup your nova settings and clear the data.

Just reinstalled and it works now. Thanks

MultiWindow apps list

Is there a way to get the text out from under the icons in the app drawer or whatever it would be called?

He means in the app tray popup you get when you're trying to add an app to the multiwindow bar like in my attached screen
@ OP: it seems like you could edit the strings.xml in one of the framework files or the flashbarservice.apk to make this be an empty string, e.g.: ""
Without the quotes of course
OIC.... He said app drawer... Didn't cross my mind should have known by the title. IDK if you remove it from app drawer will it affects in multiview window? I don't have it enabled. Doesn't really serve much of a function for me.

For me I'm quite concerned about the amount of ads. Launcher 7 is a more better alternative for me.

[Q] LG G3 Screen Brightness on Notification Bar?

Is there a way to enable screen brightness on the notification bar? I miss this feature from the LG g2.
I thought it's already there by default?
From what I'm reading, the ATT G3 doesn't have it at all (no option to enable it either).
Hit the edit button at the end of the quick toggles. There is an option to enable the brightness slider, at least on the T-Mobile G3.

Yes, I have the AT&T g3 and I can't seem to find the option. Now I know they removed it completely.
AT&T phone doesn't have that as an option...

Move the brightness over on the first page of the toggles. If you hold it it takes you to the setting. It's an extra step, but still not that bad.
If that doesn't work for you try Lux. You can set any space on the screen to adjust the brightness by sliding. Would work good on part of the status bar. You can also set your own values to auto adjust. Just some thoughts. [emoji6]
Sprint version doesn't have the slider option either unfortunately.
This is a duplicate thread I posted this question earlier.

Using gestures? swipe up on the pill to open multi-tasking and then tap the icon of the App at the top and select Split Screen.
Here's a screenshot

i really liked the old oreo split screen shortcut.....so i made an app that brings it back. (play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.github.ericytsang.multiwindow.app.android)
if you want to use the pill for navigation (instead of the old 3-button navigation), there's an option in my app that lets you display the accessibility button to trigger split screen mode...

I use an app called navigation gestures which replaces the pill with a way more powerful version. It replaces the nav bar entirely.
It can assign any action to any gesture (right & hold for instance) and one of the things it can trigger is split screen.
