Which SD Card is going in your phone? - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Accessories

So, when my Note 7 took a dive, I jumped on the iPhone 7+ in order to get maximum resale value for when the S8+ or even new Note came out. Now, I have this sitting in my drawer and it's ready to come out tomorrow.
Which card are you going to go with?

I have the same card from the Note 7 promo in my Note 4 right now which I'll move over when my phone comes in. Going to get the immersive bundle and give the new card to my wife to use in her S8+. I'm assuming it will probably be the same specs on the two cards.

128gb Samsung Pro Plus.

None. I have a 128 GB Samsung Pro+ card I bought for my S7 Edge, and the 256 GB Evo+ from the Note7 promo, but unless you NEED the extra storage, all you are doing is slowing your phone down.

256gb card from my Note 7, works like a charm..
Cheers,

256gb Samsung microsd from my current s7e

I'm not sure what card. Only going to need 64gb as I never keep much on my phone. My main issue is cost. I need a cheap card as I've spent more on a case.
Running

64GB Sandisk. I still got a sealed 256GB Samsung / Gear Fit2 from N7 promo.
Good thing you kept that white adapter from the N7.
I wish I kept mine. they didn't even check the second N7 box for accessories.
I could have put in rocks and kept all the goodies but oh well.

SD card
I put a Samsung 128GB in and will buy a 256 when they become cheaper

[Q] SD Card problem

Hi all.
I have a 32 gb class 6 card (Topram) which I purchased about 2 weeks ago. I partitioned it with a ext2 and converted to an ext3 and had been running Mik 3DSupersonic with a2sd with no problems. Today I was copying the contents of the card to my computer using a card reader and something went wrong. Upon inserting the SD card back into the phone it was unrecognized. I have tried partitioning it with my phone through RA Anon recovery (it completes almost instantly) unsuccessfully and also through my Windows 7 computer without success. Are there any tricks I can try or is this brand new card shot?
Thanks for any insight.
I can pretty much guarantee you have a fake card. Where did you purchase it from?

Really? It was working fine for over 2 weeks. I purchased it through buy.com from a third party seller. I doubt it.
Yeah sounds like a 2gb card hacked to read 32gb until you try filling it up past the 2gb. If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for it?

If you're right it had to be bigger than a 2gb because I had upwards of 9 gb on it when it was working. I paid $46.75 Here's the link http://www.buy.com/pr/product.aspx?sku=219375390
I've contacted Topram about a warranty replacement. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

Topram is really not a very good brand. SanDisk is the only manufacturer that actually has a working 32gb card out right now.

I learned my lesson now. I wouldn't have even considered it except it had very good reviews.
i have a small question about sd cards, i have a sandisk 8gb class 4 sd card that i am using and i used the app SD Tools to test the speeds of my card and my results were as if the class of my card was higher than 4.....but i dont fully understand what speeds are for each class, from what i have read a class 4 should have 4mb of write speed, but mine ranges from 8-10 on the tests...does that mean my card is like a class 8 or 10?...if anyone could clear this up for me that would be awesome...ill put a screenshot of my test results if that would help also...

It's not a good deal, at all.
actually it is a good deal. depending on where in the WORLD you are.
now in the USA that price is horrible. $18-$22 is the going price for a 32gb (uhs-1 ultra card)
but in say africa that might be a FANTASTIC price. so it depends on where he is ordering from.
Wouldn't rely on them too much. It's a Chinese manufacturer sent straight from there, I've gotten other things such as accessories from there but would trust memory cards.

Yo. Tablet shut down and when I rebooted, I saw this messae. Is tnks a commonandroid problem?

it is common for the galaxy s3 to damage sd cards...
The same happened with Note 3 twice with two different card (64GB and 32GB)
What brand is the SD card? Maybe it's Made in China junk. Even Sandisk have had batches that suffered premature death. I've never had any issues with several Samsung phones since the original Galaxy S but I stick to established brands like Samsung, Delkin, Sandisk, etc.

Sandisk 64gb, toshiba 32gb
I had a pny 64 die in it and a 64 sandisk that works fine in every other device start acting up the way he pny did before dieing. a 32gb sandisk is working fine now with no hiccups. I'm not risking another $50 card in it whether it's the tablets fault or not.
I shoulda jumped on that 35 bb deal though.
I am using sandisk 64gb class 6 on my note 10.1 2014 with no problems so far

My S4 had that message happening with a Sandisk Extreme 64gb card a lot but it would always work still. Formatting it fixed it. My Samsung 64gb Extreme card hasn't had any issues yet in my Note. If you haven't formatted it yet, I would try that.
I had similar problem with the first note 10.1 2014, it had problem with the microsd slot. the card would work for a few minutes and then it would stop detecting it, showed corrupt sd card errors. I think the microsd module was broken, it "sunk inside", so it was really hard to insert the microsd with just fingers. I exchanged it for the new one.
The sd card works fine now, but this too has that weird defect with the module sunk in, i have to use the edge of another microsd card to fully insert one inside till it clicks in.
Not sure if anyone else have the same problem, but I may return this again and buy one from different store.
the tablet reboot when installing/update apps from play store will the sd card in (SanDisk 64gb).

SanDisk memory

Hello, I have been using the Sandisk ultra 64GB on my Galaxy Note 2 for a year. It is very nice except that at one point, it took a long time for the photos to be listed and that it looked like the files were corrupted (the device displayed something rather than the photos).
For the Note 10,1 2014, which SanDisk 64GB memory do you recommend? Now they sell the Extreme and Extreme Pro. Not sure if the device could take advantage of the speed.
By the way, can the Note Pro 12.2 read/write faster than the Note 10.1, 2014? Still drawn between the devices but I need to buy soon. Thanks.
The 12.2 should be identical to the 10.1, except for size. Both may profit from cards up to HC 1 UHS 2. SDXC cards just became available with HC/UHS support, making them finally as fast as the smaller SDXC ones(<32gb).

From Sandisk website, the onlu 64GB cards for these two devices are:
http://pct1.sandisk.com/ProductList.aspx?DeviceID=21306
1. SanDisk Extreme Plus microSDXC UHS-I Card 64GB
SDSDQX-064G-A46A
2. SanDisk Extreme® microSDHC™/microSDXC™ UHS-I Card_64GB
SDSDQXL-064G-A46A
Where can I find the HC 1 UHS 2?
There are probably none yet. It's a faster class, and there's a new HC 2 standard, also starting with Uhs 1, with a Uhs 2 to follow later.
But this will need a second row of contacts in the sd slot.
I have been using the Sandisk Ultra 64gb Class 10 in both my Notes.. No problems. The point is, could my two Notes notice the extra speed of the Extreme over the Ultra? I think not, just an opinion, and before I spend TWICE as much something, I want to know if I will get TWICE the performance.
No doubt the Extreme is faster, but, I have no issues with the two Ultras.. There is a BIG price difference from the Ultra to the Extreme.. Almost twice the cost...
I don't know the bus transfer limit of the sd slot. Once this is known, you will at least profit during writes from cards with an ultra fast flash controller, as the Note should be able to handle writes as fast as reads. Probably even faster, if the internal flash limits.
Don't waste your money. I bought a SanDisk Extreme 64GB for this tablet and the speed is an ABSOLUTE SHAME.
I only get this:
R:21.54MB/s
W:19.49MB/s
Just use A1 SD Bench and verify yourself.
This is what it should be like:

Tab S 8.4 Max Memory Card Size

Well when it first came out (the tab s 8.4) only 128gb micro SD cards were the largest available.
So my question, can we assume that any micro SD XC 1 card will work fine in this tablet?
I ask because I stumbled upon this 200GB card now available.
http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-micro..._UL160_SR160,160_&refRID=00EQDPJ5PMBTHB0A266Q
Or is this tabs card slot locked some how to only except up to 128GB max?
If the Tabs S works with XC 1 cards have an 128gb one and it works fine, I suppose an 200gb that is XC 1 should work as well as an guess.

Can anyone recommend a card with decent speed?
I'm using Sandisk 32 GB and the transfer speed sucks... avg around 10mb/s when transfering files from my tablet to PC via USB cable.

Get the biggest card you can afford, a 64gb or 128gb, I only ever buy Samsung flash cards for years for my camera`s phones and tablets, I all do a exhaustive error test when i get them and i have never found an error or had one fail, So i don't have any experience of other brands but Sandisk is a good brand.
I just bought an Samsung 128GB Evo+ the other day for £36 and i am just about finishing the error testing, It is showing a write speed of 20.46mb/s and a read speed of 63.56mb/s these are just basic number using an USB 3.0 card reader on my notebook, I have an crystal disk mark test results if you want to see them.
My T800 10.5" has formated my Samsung 128GB EVO+ as ExFat file system, benchmarks should really be run with the card in your Tab S for real world results.
John.
Thanks! Time to test out Samsung sd cards then.
Highly recommended Samsung evo cards. Its all I use now. Good value for money.
A few speed test reviews on Amazon say the Samsung 128GB EVO+ is not very good as the 4K file write speed is very low, But i dont write anything that small, even ebook files or mp3 files are hundreds of mb/s
Below are benchmark run on my Notebook using an USB 3.0 card reader.

I will post a couple of benchmarks with the Samsung 128GB EVO+ in my T800 EDIT: Write speed seems to be limited to 34mb/s i wonder if this af fast as the card reader can go, as other tests have show tha same slow read speed
John.
I personally never had any issues with Sandisk. I have really old Sandisk cards laying around (64mb) and they still work fine.
I'm actually scared to try a different brand with the good luck I have had with Sandisk.

I am in the US but this is what I am using now. The 32gig one. Go with the biggest you can afford to be honest. Make sure its class 10. Always buy from an official Sandisk seller on Amazon to avoid fakes.
