[Q] 'Ok Google' always listening voice search?

Is the function available on the Compact? I know it's possible due to it using the same processor as the Nexus 5, and it has the option for 'Hotword detection' in the voice settings so I'd guess it should be functioning, but I can't seem to get it to work, even after following this guide: http://www.cultofandroid.com/44949/enable-the-nexus-5s-ok-google-feature-outside-of-the-u-s-tip/
Could someone please shed some light on the situation?
Cheers

You need the Google Now Launcher (default launcher on Nexus 5) to enable this functionality. It is only available on 4.4.

Ah ok, cheers, any idea what the hotword detection tickbox currently does then? Can we install the launcher on Jellybean with an .apk or something to get the functionality?
*EDIT* trying this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2506488
*EDIT 2* won't even let me install 'PrebuiltGmsCore.apk'

I believe Google Search has the functionality built in but Google Now Launcher enables it to work. Unfortunately, I believe there is some key API code in Kit Kat that is required for this.

[Q] Answering machine from Kitkat to JB on Zl

Guys,
I just realized that the Z1 with kitkat comes with and answering machine option, wich I think it would be so useful; could somebody confirm if it's possible to port this to current JB xperia ZL, if so, what do we need?

I don't know how it is the moto g. This answering machine I mention, works like this:
1You record a message
2 Set up how many seconds before answering.
3 You get an incoming call, after the time you established before, the phone automatically answers and replays your message.
4 The caller leaves a message.
5 You get notified about it and can hear the message.

it is there in existenz v4 rom but currently does not work properly .. the opposite person cannot hear the msg u have recorded ..even the previous automated version from z1 did not work
will have to wait for kk
Would be happy if someone could port this to AOSP Kitkat
This must be a joke. Kitkat for Xperia Zl does not have the answering machine option.
Do you think, this could be ported?

Please dwell on this. Not sure what you're referring to.
If you referring to Hangouts Dialer, its working.
Using the Google Voice app. You get the "Call not sent" error.
https://www.google.com/search?q=hua...e=UTF-8#q=huawei+"call+not+sent"+google+voice
I think the issue is that the Dialer/Telecom isn't giving the Google Voice process enough time to prepare the call routing or something. If you select "Ask every time" in the Google Voice app routing settings, and wait a couple seconds after the pop-up, it works.

The most important thing that your rom must have is NO problem with notifications like stok or 3rd party mail apps, viber, facebbok & messanger, instagram and when im saying NO problem i mean that you will test it with screen of (for about 30minutes without interaption to be sure the phone is sleeping in doze mode) and recieve a mail to see if the divice wakes up alove and see in lockscreen the notification.

Notifications seem to be a different case for everyone. For starters I don't believe it is caused by doze, but by Huaweis implementation since disabling doze does nothing or did nothing for me. Don't experience any notification issues on this one.

I thought i was smart enough, i got the Moto Action latest apk, the latest update (March 2017) is dedicated for Moto G5 and includes the One Nav Button. Well problem is you cant update the moto action via google play because it says it is running the latest version. So i took the apk from another source. Turned out the installation failed.
Wish there was a way to bypass this.
https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Moto-Z-Play/Moto-z-play-fingerprint-gestures/m-p/3615682#M2908 " There are no plans of adding this feature in the next update. If our customers are not happy with what the phone's native feature, there is Play store where you can download third party apps which suit your style and customization."
Getting rid of the nav-bar is one of the main reasons I'm planning to root my Moto Z Play. Too bad the one button-feature doesn't work there. I'd rather keep the phone locked (warranty) and on stock Android.
I use this.

This app is an ugly workaround and broke the first thing I tested it with: When its running, long presses aren't working any more in Nova Launcher.
I really hope some dev will be able to migrate the Moto Action-app that includes the One Button-feature to Moto Z without the need of root.

The problem with this apk is it will not pass installing stage. Not parsing error.

I use this app. I assigned navigation keys to different swipe edge locations. You can customize settings such as edge width or swipe distance under edge preference. Use immersive mode to get rid of the navbar.
This app does not work perfectly on a non-rooted device as keyboard doesn't function well in immersive mode, but it has been working fine since I rooted my phone. I noticed that key popups that I type appear on weird locations though, so I just disabled that option.

I have been patience I'm just not sure what else I can do. I have tried three Bluetooth devices with Auto Answer and had two different people call me while I am on the road with each device. Every time someone calls I have to take my hand off the wheel and touch the screen to answer. What am I doing wrong if this is supposed to work? I also get the same results with the other apps. Maybe I should contact Lenovo because the first Moto Z Play had the same problem.
