Best Clear Case for LG G6. UAG vs Spigen vs Poetic vs Ghostek - LG G6 Accessories

I made a YouTube video comparing these 4 clear cases. They were all pretty good but if you can only have one:

Thanks for the comparison!

Liked and subscribed for no other reason than the Last of the Mohicans soundtrack playing in the background. One of my favorite soundtracks.
I agree with your assessment on the UAG. I was not impressed with its quality, fit, and finish, especially for a $40 case. It's really a $17 to $19 case. I am rocking a cheap case currently, similar to the Spigen but just a TPU case.

I like my ghosted case. It fits well and it seems protective.

just bought the Ringke Air LG G6 case from Amazon, comes in Clear and Smoked, really like it

So guys I need some opinions here. I torn between two cases and would like some help deciding. I can't decide between the two.
1. Ringke Fusion: https://goo.gl/tGKqRx
2. Spigen Ultra Hybrid: https://goo.gl/9sd0jZ
Any pros and cons would definitely help. Thanks.

I just got this phone for my wife and we got a cheap case at a small phone shop. The problem with the case is its hard to swipe the side of the screen on the left side because of the lip on the case.
Do any of these have that issue?

Fortunately, also rated highly in the video.

What did you end up getting?
I just got the Spigen, because I was happy with this case on previous phones. I'm disappointed by this case for 3 reasons:
Gap at fingerprint button and camera openings allow dust and dirt to get underneath case
Back of case is very slippery because the edges curve in
Back plastic makes direct contact with whatever surface you put phone on. So the back will get scratched as it slides around.
I'm thinking of getting the Ringke, but Amazon reviews state dust gets in from the back openings (like the Spigen) and it's loose on one side. I guess the curved back of the G6 is the reason. The opening for the fingerprint sensor is not chamfered on the Ringke. The Spigen cutout is chamfered and smaller. Using the fingerprint sensor is comfortable and precise on the Spigen. The Ringke has TPU feet on the back corners, so it won't slide on a surface and the back plastic won't get scratched. I like how the Ringke comes in smoked black, whereas the Spigen is only available in clear (which will yellow eventually).

So I went with the Ringke Fusion ink black with clear back and it does get dirt and debris around cutouts. I should have gone with the smoke back because the clear is a fingerprint magnet. I'm constantly wiping the back off as it looks horrible with all them smudges on it. But besides that it's an ok case. But I am in search of a new case as I'm tired of this one now lol.

I have the poetic and truly amazing case and had her to yellow like my spigen did. After 3 months use on the poetic no issues at all

I ordered the Ringke smoked TPU case (no hard back plastic) because it's smoked and there's a 30% off coupon if you buy another Ringke product on Amazon.

I just received this clear TPU case for $2.58 on Amazon after coupon. Click the "Buy 1, get 35% off" link below the price and it the discount shows at the final checkout screen.

I'm returning the Spigen Ultra Hybrid.

Spigen is the best one.

Went with Poetic for corner protection & price

I used to like clear case, but overtime they turn yellowish

Best clear case for LG G6. UAG vs Spigen vs Poetic vs Ghostek
I loved my Spigen case. It has fit precisely on my LG G6 and provides ultimate protection.

I loved the feel of my Spigen case, but it's definitely a finger print magnet and yellowed over time, and it picked up blue from my jeans, so it's a mess. I wish they had the same case available in solid colors or at least tinted. I moved on to a Spigen thin fit hard shell case for now. No more clear cases for me.

I will suggest Spigen cases for LG G6 .

I am using the Spigen one. I think it is the slimmest that still protects for the camera bump.

I went through quite a few cases and ended up purchasing the Nillikin case and absolutely love it. I needed a case with added grip and some camera protection.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MAZLX5R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_B-poybKTP18S5
It does not protect the top and bottom like many snap on cases but is thin and has a raised area around the camera. I'd be comfortable laying the phone on a flat surface now. I have the spigen rugged armor which is thicker and protects the entire phone.

Looks sweet. Thanks.
Can't comment on Nillkin or Spigen cases, never had them. I went Ringke Fusion on the LG G4 and have never looked back. Received my v20 case today (clear/smoke) and put it on. It's VERY marginally recessed compared to where the camera bump is. Is perfectly flat/balanced on an even surface, so you can operate the phone one-handed on the desk if you need to.
My recommendation is to leave the plastic film on the back of the phone where the camera is, any protection you can give it without affecting photo quality will help. I just need a good screen protector now...
Hope that helps.

Nillkin also makes one that is a TPU case. I had it on my N6P & it was really nice. I opted for the Encased this time because I wanted a hard case, TPU never keeps it's full shape after a while..
Spigen... very nice case
Spigen rugged armor.. it's thin, nice looking and protects all that is needed
http://www.spigen.com/collections/lg/products/rugged-armor-lg-v20-case
I tried the Spigen Liquid Crystal Case and it is the most minimalist but doesn't have enough protection in my opinion.
I ended up returning it not for that reason, but due to the "yellow" tone of the case itself...I contacted Spigen and they are looking into replacements.
I purchased the Ringke [Fusion] Clear PC Back TPU Bumper in Smoked Black...perfect fit and better protection that looks great with the Titan V20.

If you want something with protection while being slim, I'd suggest the UAG LG V20 Plasma Feather-Light Rugged. Been using it since I got my V20 and it's slim and light with plenty of grip, originally I thought that it'll be big and bulky like the OtterBox cases but it's slim enough and knowing it's UAG you don't really have to worry about protection. Even tho it's pricy it's worth it.
You can consider using the Verus crystal bumber case, this and others like spigen to name a few are your only option, just keep the protection film on for added protection, for me I also added a tempered glass protector for both camera lens without any affect what so ever.

I ended up buying this case. It arrived today and my search is now over. There's simply no way a V20 case could be slimmer than the Nillikin while still offering camera protection. It's awesome. EXACTLY what I was looking for, so thank you!
The top and bottom are protected well enough with the lip extensions on each end.
I bought this off aliexpress, and it's pretty great. perfect fit and some improvement in grip.
http://www.nillkin.com/english/proshow.asp?mid=2&sid=0&tid=0&cid=1&scid=&id=6497&page=1
downside is, it's glossy and quite the fingerprint magnet especially in a humid country like SG, and the alignment is slightly off for the fingerprint/home button.
otherwise, the port covers are awesome and it'll definitely prevent the lint buildup.
looking to get a tempered glass next.
also, for SG sets, it comes with a promotional pack of 3 back protectors and 2 iRing and a screen protector. will upload pictures soon!

I agree, one of the thinniest case around with the best protection, the case has a built in dust cap for both the charging port and headphone socket.

[REQ] Spigen Neo Hybrid Case "After a while review"

Hi im looking to decide between the Spigen Neo Hybrid and Spigen rugged armor. I have read many reviews but none of them seems legit, so any user who have any of these cases please confirm this for me:
SPIGEN NEO HYBRID:
1. Does the sides of the plastic bumper tuns yellow after a while of use like a month or two? and if it does looses its color can i buy the bumper separately?
2. Does it provide better protection on drops as compared to the rugged armor?
SPIGEN RUGGED ARMOR:
1. Is the case too slippery?
2. How is the drop protection on this case?
I'm looking for protection over looks so please help me make a valid choice, and if you think that both the cases sucks feel free to suggest me the one you prefer.
Thanks in advance.
Hi, I have the Spigen Rugged Armor, this case is good looking if you don't mind that the OnePlus logo is hidden with this case. This case also have a good grip and good drop protection.
I once dropped my 3T while using this case with the screen facing down the concrete. Fortunately, this case protected my screen from shatter. I recommended you get this case if you spend majority of your work outside office. Better safe than sorry.
I bought the Rugged Armor and I have to say I'm really impressed. It's thin, feels great and definitely isn't too slippery. The carbon fiber looks good too. The only issue is I'm not sure how much drop protection it would provide because like I say it is very thin. There's a lip over the screen but I can imagine the phone becoming disfigured underneath if it was dropped from an appreciable height. I'm usually quite careful though so I'm trying not to worry about that
Thanks for the reply guys I was slightly inclined towards the rugged armor my self, it looks frekin awesome. I'll go for it then.
Currently using the Spigen rugged armour as I was afraid of finger prints with the clear variant. Not as slippery as I expected and gives all the protection you need, saved my phone from a couple of drops and it is scratch free
I'm actually using both. I initially only had the rugged armor and then bought the Neo hybrid. I found with a glass screen protector the Rugged armor doesn't play well with it. With just a plastic screen protector the Neo hybrid looks really nice. I love em both though
I have one and it's not really a good "feel" for me. It's a great case, just not to my liking. I am rocking this one now: OnePlus 3T Case, OnePlus 3 Case, Nillkin Synthetic Fiber Premium Bumper Case Cover [Compatible with Magnetic Car Holder] for OnePlus 3T / 3 - Black. It's a lot like the OEM and fits great. With that and the LiquidSkin protector, I really like the slimness and the feel.
Been using the rugged armor for about a month.
- Not slippery
- Good protection
- Not too thick
- I think the CF is stupid. I want it plain.
9/10 would buy again.

Have had the OP3T with that case for 2 months now
1. No they don't. I just have one little scratch on the corner revealing a small white line (barely visible)
2. No idea since I haven't dropped the phone a single time. I can just say that the bumper makes the case kind of more slippery actually. Previously I rocked Spigen Ultra Hybrid on Nexus 5/Nexus6/Galaxy S6 and it was much more grippy. I felt much safer while for example on a bus, now I aim to hold it with two hands since I don't feel the grip this well. The Neo's advantage over Ultra Hybrid though, is the fact that the whole product is relatively soft and flexible so that it doesn't damage the device at all as UH used to with its back made of hard solid plastic.
9/10 very decent, non-bull**** and SOLID case anyway. Totally recommend it, the notices above are just the matter of my fussiness

Protective Case

I always rock an Otterbox Commuter case on my phones mainly for work conditions can get rough at times. From what I've seen, Otterbox is only offering their Defender series (too big and bulky) and their Symmetry series (thinner, one piece case). I've decided to go with the Symmetry series and I'm pleasantly surprised. It definitely adds a little bit of bulk, but not as much as the Commuter, while offering great all-around protection. The one piece design is easy to put on and remove (unlike previous Symmetry cases I've tried on other phones). I do wish that there was a bit of grip on the sides like the Speck Presidio series cases, but I like the design. Unfortunately the only options were clear, pink, or black.... so I went with black.
So what's your choice for a protective case? Share pics and comments.
I too normally use the Otterbox defender for my phones but I wanted to try something new. I bought a poetic revolution for myself and a supcase unicorn beetle pro for my wife. They appeared a little slimmer and had port covers which I wanted. Amazon says they will arrive tomorrow so I shall see.

I had the unicorn beetle pro for my Nexus 6 and it's a nice cheaper alternative to the defender, but it still adds more bulk than the commuter case. I may look into the poetic case though. Let me know how they work out for you. ?
I went to Best Buy and tried out the Defender case. Definitely too bulky and I hate the built in screen protector (and it doesn't sit well over a glass screen protector, even if you take out the built in one).
You may not like the poetic as it has the built in screen protector. I'm used to the bulk of the defender so I'm not a great judge of the size. I will tell you the poetic is smaller then the supcase unicorn beetle. Built in port covers are nice too, overall it is a smaller rugged case you can say.
just received the Poetic Karbon Shield Slim Fit Case With Anti-Slip Side Grip and Carbon Fiber Texture. it's a slimmer-fit case that offers (what i believe is) more protection than a thin TPU case. sharing pictures for those interested to know how it fits the G6. i also have tempered glass screen protector on the phone as well. you'll also notice in the first pic that wireless charing works with the case on the phone. i usually go with a much thinner case but i really like the look and feel of this one. will give it a week or so before i decide if it's a keeper. (please excuse the dust in the pictures - our HVAC ducts were being cleaned when i took these pictures).
Went from a Note 3 with Otterbox Commuter to a G6 with Spigen "Tough Armor" case, and am satisfied with it. Feels like it provides just as much protection as the Otterbox Commuter, yet not adding quite as much bulk. I'm kinda rough with my phones sometimes, and I'd have peace of mind if I were to accidentally drop my G6 from waist-height or so.
If you choose to go with Spigen, definitely buy it off Amazon, rather than directly from Spigen's website; it's cheaper off Amazon.

I just ordered this one on Amazon. Saw the office and couldn't pass it up. Glad to see it looks good, and works well with a glass protector. I got the Spigen glass 2 pack as I've always liked everything Spigen makes.
Was gonna get the unicorn beetle that I had for my s7e, but don't think I need that much protection on this one, plus no edge screens that I need to prevent my palm from hitting lol.
Update: I hate the Karbon case. Doesn't fit tightly and leaves gaps at the edges on the front. I guess for $8 it'll hold me over until I get a good case, but this one is not staying pass this weekend.

So guys I'm searching for a good protective case that doesn't add too much bulk. I'm torn between the Poetic Revolution and the Supcase Unicorn Beetle. I like the way the Poetic looks except for the cutout on back, I prefer the Unicorns Cutouts. If anyone here has any pics to share, that be awesome. Or unless someone has another case to throw in the mix. THanks

Cases that protect the screen edges

Are there any cases that protect the screen edges as well, along the length of the phone?

To me the long screen edges of the phone on your picture look raised up higher than the case and exposed to possible impact.
Being using the Spingen Ultra Hybrid S for the past 4 days. covers the corners pretty well and comes with a kickstand which id very useful. Picked it up on ebay for less than $16. worth a try.
Got this one
It has a premium kickstand from Zenton, it is one heck of a deal for $7.95!!! On AMAZON!

I bought a Gear4 case in store for £29.99 because I wanted a case straight away but now realise that as big and rugged as it looks, the screen is raised above the edges so any side impact will shatter the screen.
Especially with how breakable s8 is:

It is not something to be taken for granted. Try it and let us know. A review did say it has raised edges but what the author means is not clear. Also this case for Note7 model did NOT protect the long edges.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MS7TMRY/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
That one has the best edge protection I have found. I got the same case on my Note 7 and my S7E for the very reason that it comes up over the edges more than most cases.
I will say that it came up higher (actually taller than the main screen) on the Note 7. On the S8+ it doesn't come up quite as high on the sides, but still is far better than any other cases for protecting the sides short of a case that is so bulky it basically makes the phone twice as big as it is.
Had a clear thin Spigen case...finger prints were driving me crazy and did not feel safe with that case, so I just go the Spigen Tough Armor Galaxy S8 Plus Case with Kickstand and Extreme Heavy Duty Protection and Air Cushion Technology for Galaxy S8 Plus (2017) - Gunmetal from Amazon for $16.99. It feels good in the hand, has a great look (got over not seeing my orchard gray phone back) the cut out are for camera, finger print sensor and heart rate sensor makes it easy to find location to use finger sensor...do not fumble around trying to figure out where my finger goes...fast unlock. provides great clearance for phone face down.
Wireless charging works great with it....have not received my Gear VR yet, so do not know if case adds distance from face to change picture and degree view.
I do have a car holder that uses a magnet and a metal plate you put behind the case...the plate effect wireless charging...has been the case with other cases and phones.
Very happy with this case (have not tried a screen protector with it yet either)
Any new information here?

Lifeproof has a full envelope for $90 but I want the holster clip like my Otterbox. For now making due with a Defender, but leaning towards biting the bullet on the Lifeproof for the full screen protection.
I would suggest a Speck Presidio
Have one, awesome protection so dont worry it you drop it.

Case reviews: Rhinoshield CrashGuard & SolidSuit, Zeking Ultra Slim, Crave Slim Guard
i've used a number of cases that you can easily purchase from amazon before including the spigen tough armor, spigen neo hybrid, spigen crystal shell, ringke fusion and the rhinoshield crashguard. I think the 2 most important aspects of a good phone case is reinforced corner protection and elevated front edge to protect the screen. When I got the pixel 2 XL, I started looking for a slim yet protective case and I ended up trying the 4 cases below. I used each case about 1-2 weeks and thought I'd share my thoughts. I did receive the Rhinoshield cases from the company for free but they are not involved with my write up in any way, shape or form.
The photos attached are in accordance to the order of which the cases are reviewed.
Rhinoshield CrashGuard bumper case:
This was my favorite case when I had my galaxy s7 and when I moved on to the LG G5 then G6, I was disappointed to find out that they don't make the CrashGuard for them.
From my experience using this case with the galaxy s7 (which I had for about a year before it was stolen...), this case simply works. I am not the best when it comes to handling my phone therefore it gets dropped a lot; this case really does the job well when it comes to impact protection while being minimalistic. During the past 2 weeks with the case, I've dropped my pixel 2 a few times from different heights, mostly from standing height and some from when I get out of the car and the case has been effective. According to Rhinoshield, their cases have a 11.5 ft impact resistance rating which supposedly far exceeds the " US MILITARY DROP TEST STANDARD".
Many others have commented on how slippery this case is. Well, it is and that's because Rhinoshield now coats the cases to make them more stain resistant. For me, personally, I don't mind as I find it easier to slide in and out of my pockets.
Some physical changes I've noticed is that the case fits A LOT more snug to the point where it is quite difficult for me to take the phone out of the case. That's an inconvenience for me as I fly a drone here and there and in order for the phone to fit into the remote controller I have to take the case off. Now I may have to buy a separate phone holder for the remote controller. Another change that's worth pointing out is that in my old s7 case, the raised lip on the back of the case was more pronounced at the corners and the top and bottom edges. This gave me more of a piece of mind since it is a bumper case and the back of the phone is exposed. However, it seems like they have eliminated that from their design of the new cases and I wish they kept that. Lastly, now you can change up the color of the power button but the colored buttons have to be purchased separately. The power button is very responsive but the volume rocker you'd have to press a little bit harder.
Other non-noticeable changes they've made since I had their case for the s7 is they now use a different material (fancy name 'ShockSpread Material') for their cases which is suppose to be lighter, thinner but just as protective and durable.
The case is friendly with their screen protectors, as well with the Sparin TPU screen protector that I got from amazon. In terms of skin, it will not work with the Dbrand precision fit skin but fine with standard fit. However, it will leave an indent on the standard fit skin as shown in photos.
Lastly, if you happen to have a Feiyu tech SPG-c gimbal, with the heaviest counterweights the phone with this case just barely works.
Rhinoshield SolidSuit
Overall, very similar to the CrashGuard bumper case.
I'll highlight the differences:
- compatible with the RhinoShield add-on lens
- of course, heavier and bulkier (heaviest of the 4)
- feels very solid because of the overall construction, as well the back is protected
- most of the finishing is the same as the CrashGuard, however the back of mine has the carbon fiber finishing which I guess made it less slippery
- volume rocker is much more responsive than the CrashGuard
- did not work at all with the Feiyu tech SPG-c gimbal
Zeking ultra slim TPU case from amazon canada
In my opinion, very good case. For less than $10, you get padded corner protection plus raised front edge without much added bulkiness; this is just as good as cases such as ones from Spigen or Ringke but for 1/3 or 1/2 the price.
It is made of TPU and I haven't had the case long enough to speak about yellow-ing, but the TPU feels decent not cheap. On the inside of the back of the case, there are these microdots and I can't understand their purpose. You can actually feel them when you brush you finger across. The side buttons are responsive, clicky. A really thoughtful and unique design is that along the sides of the case the TPU's texture is different and it allows for better grip (almost like there's a very smooth sandpaper strip). The advantage of this case in comparison to the two Rhinoshield cases above is that it does feel slimmer in hand.
When it comes to impact protection, it doesn't have that "over 11 ft of impact protection" that's marketed for the Rhinoshield cases, however the few times I dropped the phone in this case it was completely fine.
I did try to use this case with the Dbrand 'precise fit' skin. It will not work well with the skin if you have the tendency to take your phone in and out of the case. As i took my phone out, it lifted the skin that goes around the the corner on the side of the phone. On the other hand, the 'standard fit' skin did just fine. In terms of screen protectors, it is compatible with the Sparin TPU screen protector as well as the protectors from Rhinoshield.
Similar to the Rhinoshield CrashGuard, this barely worked with my Feiyu Tech SPG-c gimbal.
Crave Slim Guard from amazon canada
This case is very similar to the Ringke Fusion in a sense that both have the TPU bumper that goes around the case, and the clear polycarbonate back. This case, however, has a very pronounced elevated front lip to the point where it almost feels like the phone is sunken in inside the case. It's very good if you're looking for extra raised front protection, however when you're swiping left or right on the screen you will feel the edge more so than the other cases. It may help if the company just round off the raised edges a little bit more. A thoughtful part of their design is that they raised the back corners a tiny bit; my guess is they are there to raise the back a little bit so when you sit the phone on a flat surface it doesn't scratch up the polycarbonate back. All the buttons super responsive and clicky; probably the best buttons of the 4 cases. The phone does feel pretty slim in this case and I think even slimmer than the Zeking TPU case. I don't remember dropping my phone while using this case, but based on its construction it should do just as good as the Ringke Fusion case but definitely not as good as the other 3 cases above.
Overall I think this case is just as good as the Ringke Fusion if not better protection because of the pronounced elevated front edge. Keep in mind, from my experience using these cases with a polycarbonate back they will get scratched up over time and you will see more finger print smudges.
When it comes to compatibility with skin and screen protectors, it is the same as above.
Similar to the Rhinoshield CrashGuard and ZeKing ultra slim, this barely worked with the Feiyu Tech SPG-c gimbal.
Long review but hope this helps. I will start another post for my screen protectors review as well as a review of the add-on lens from RhinoShield.
Nice reviews! Kudos
My fav is the Zeking ultra slim TPU!
Not related to the topic, but can you tell me where you get the yellow skin for your Pixel? I'm interested in that yellow lock button.

The yellow power button is from rhinoshield. you can purchase the colored buttons separately on their site and it's compatible with their cases.
Thanks for your detailed review. One thing is that I tried Ringke Fusion and Crave Slim Guard; I think Ringke Fusion does provide a bit more of FRONT lip, doesn't it?

I don't have the exact measurements and my experience with the ringke fusion is with the lg g6 case. To me it seems like the crave slim guard has a slightly more raised front lip than the ringke fusion but then i am not comparing apple to apple.
Update:
I stuck with my RhinoShield Crashguard and it has protected my phone... extremely well. I have lost count how many times I've dropped it face down, down the stairs, and more.... yep, a bit clumsy with phones.
I stayed at this villa in Bali, and it literally tumbled down these stairs from top to bottom..and my phone remains immaculate. (except when i was in Bali I decided to use it briefly without the case..and of course I dropped it..... )
Included photos of the case with the worst scratches and also...the staircase where it literally bounced its way down...
