What is the correct way to go from CUSTOM back to STOCK? - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

I'm using custom roms now and want to test the new indian rom. Which is the correct way to install indian stock again with OTA enabled without bricking the phone since I don't have a deep cable and don't know how to make one?
-flash chinese 1.9.044 using QFIL
-flash some indian stock using QFIL
or
-flash chinese 1.9.044 using QFIL
-lock bootloader
-flash some indian stock using QFIL
or even
-lock the bootloader
-flash chinese 1.9.044 using QFIL
-flash some indian stock using QFIL

I would also like to know the answer to this question! I tried asking multiple times on the ZUKFans.eu forum, but didn't receive a response. It's all very confusing and i'm not sure either on which is the correct method to use.

I also want to know...

Hello
I'm on the Indian ROM ZUI 2.0.093
I just got the handset with this ROM installed.
When I check for updates this is what I get.
Screenshot attached
Please tell me if flashing this CN ROM will get me OTA and warranty services.
Z2131_CN_OPEN_USER_Q01002.1_M_ZUI_1.9.044_ST_160523_qpst.rar
Qn: after I flash the this CN ROM,
1.How will I get Google services.
2. Should I continue to use this CN Rom and do OTA with VPN enabled or
Flash any specific Indian ROM in any specific method to get the services.
I think the seller has unlocked the bootloader.
But there is no custom recovery installed and there is no SuperSU and not sure if the bootloader is locked or unlocked.
(I'll check on this and will update the scenario)
Please help
Also please provide links to flashing guide (CN Rom)
NB:Sorry I'm a newbie and forgive my less knowledge that I understand very less of the older replies to this thread.
Thanks in advance.

Use FlyVPN and set location as china then check for update. You will get 2 updates one after another and finally to naugat 7.0.

Assuming you flashed Chinese stock 1.9.044 already,
- Flash Stock ZUI_2.0.093 using QFIL
- Install FlyVPN and connect to any China server eg. Shanghai
- Open updater app and check for updates.
- Update to 2.0.133
- Connect to FlyVPN Chinese server again and check for updates.
- Update to 2.5.104

official chinese zui do not come with gapps you will have to install them later, gapps packages from opengapps don't work, you have to use google installer but they cause notification problems ..... all this problems not worth it, as you can install custom zui that have gapps but they will need twrp.
Hope this helps...
Read this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/lenovo-zuk-z2/how-to/rom-zui-3-5-243st-z2-plus-z2-t3745636 about the official ZUI 3.5.xxx
You need access to PC + data cable to flash Chinese ZUI. Read that thread, pretty detailed information available on how to.
I did get myself the Oreo via that thread but Chinese ZUI isn't workable due to GApps issue. GApps are there in that ROM, but not the playstore. You have to install Playstore apk.
Not only that, usual ZUI issues are still there plus known issue like Contact sync etc. Lot of work to get it running.
I felt frustrated trying to fix things, then decided to drop the plan and went to other custom rom or simply switch back to stock ZUI 2.5.104 ST (Indian version).

If you're ready to install a custom ROM you could try jaguar ROM .. that's the same one I'm using ... Really smooth .. I'm on that ROM now for almost 4-5 months and I've had no problem whatsoever .. and I get regular updates too .. only thing is I need to download the update that is from XDA forum itself and dirty flash it from twrp that's it
Hers the Iink to the ROM .. you can check it out ..

Because I heared on the cn rom are more software features implemented.
Because face unlock and root without breaking fingerprint reader with the China ROM. I just tried installing Black Magic 5G on my global 12/256, and it's currently stuck in TWRP, won't flash anything correctly, won't boot, I'm assuming it's a global ROM issue, I'm trying to figure out how to flash the China ROM so I can start over and try Black Magic 5G again to see if that improves my results, so far I can't even get it to flash.
But if anyone wants it, I found a mega link to the latest China ROM that's suppose to be flashable through the factory recovery or TWRP. I haven't been able to get it working in TWRP, but if anyone wants to upload a TWRP backup of stock 12/256 global ROM so I can revert back to factory recovery and try flashing the China ROM that way, would be appreciated.

china rom will work on any region device.
Android 11 version of all 5G/S roms are universally able to flash.
you need to flash through system / local update, and you need to use the full rom zip.
...
features of China rom.
--China rom is bloated heavily with chinese apps that wont work in other regions due to needing a Nubia account ( which can only be made using a Chinese registered Phone number)
--these apps can be frozen / disabled.
there is no gapps / playstore. you need to install playstore seperately and then install the various google apps you use.
--stock rom you cannot change the launcher without doing some little tweaks.
-- NFC does NOT function in China rom, if you use NFC or want to use NFC, you will have to return to Global.
you do not need to root, or unlocked your device to change regions. just make sure you're locally updated to android 11, and install the region rom you wish through the system menu.

You first need to read this great guide by RollDload https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-to-flash-a-stock-rom-alioth.4355797/ to understand how to flash stock MIUI in the right way.
I can't answere about device compatibilty between indian and Indonesian
I hope this will help you
Thank you bonerserk for the reference link
First of all I'm not a pro, so do it with your own risk. But, I knew few things since I've changed my Rom back and forth using ID ROM, EU, CN, and many others Custom Rom.
In response of ur questions:
1 & 3. I recommend using Mi Flash Tool. Download the tool, and the required ROM (the FASTBOOT one, since you want to use the ID ROM, there's only 12.5.6 version for the FASTBOOT Rom) using the thread link provided by @bonerserk follow the instructions CAREFULLY.
2. Didn't know the answer.
4. It depends on ur needs. If you just want to remove the Chinese Bloatware, then the Global Rom is suitable since it has less Chinese bloatware.
Thanks, @the.ogeph for the response - After reading the Flashing method come to know Xiaomi implement Anti Rollback features in Some Model - also in Mi11X I didn't get a three-dot option (Additional Features) on Settings->About Phone - Where Some Model has this option - Now I am confused is Mi11X has implemented this features or not? If I Try and stuck due to Anti Rollback then there is no solution available as of now.
Which Device do you have? I didn't find any Mi11X owner who tried this
That's why I recommend you to use Miflash tool. You could bypass the ARB Protection by editing the (.bat) file line command. Just google it or watch tutorial on Yt.
Please follow the instruction really carefully. I've soft bricked my phone once because I skipped 1 step.

Unlocked bootloader Receive OTA ? or have to manually Push?

xiaomi.EU rom is a custom rom based on miui, so you need to unlock bootloader to install it and it didnt use miflash official tool to flash
But I have watched lots of videos where people change Xiaomi ROM with the different regions such as Global to EU, Indonesia, China with the locked bootloaders - for Only Mi11X not able to find any Source

Question How to update to 12.5.9 ?

Hello,
My lisa came with 12.5.5 out of the box. OTA offers direct to 13.0.2. Is there anyway I can upgrade to 12.5.9 ? I don't want to upgrade to A12 atm, or anytime soon really.
Indian firware if that matters.
I see xiaomi.eu has a version of 12.5.9 which is no longer updated, but lisa isn't listed on the compatible device list.
Thanks

First of all, some basics (not sure are you aware of):
1) If your phone came with Indian, you can update but only to Indian firmware without unlocking your Bootloader:
Install MIUI Recovery ROM using Stock Recovery and Updater App
Has your Xiaomi phone received a new MIUI update? Then follow this guide to easily install MIUI Recovery ROM using stock recovery and Updater app on Xiaomi devices. Any smartphone user prefers getting…
www.thecustomdroid.com
In that case you will need to download the so-called Recovery or ZIP stock firmware and use the installation as above
2) For anything else, like switching from Indian to Global or EEA (or to Russian or Chinese) - they are all stock ROMs, or switching to Xiaomi.eu - that is not stock ROM, or any other custom (ie, not stock) ROM, you would first have to unlock Bootloader
AFAIK, Xiaomi.eu has no 12.5 for Lisa, only 13.0 - hence not applicable if you insist on 12.5
To switch from Indian to Global or EEA (still stock ROMs), you will need the unlocked Bootloader, the so-called Fastboot or TGZ firmware (and MiFlash tool):
How to Flash Fastboot ROMs on Xiaomi? - xiaomiui
If you are a Xiaomi user and have installed custom ROMs on your device, then you might be wondering how to flash fastboot ROMs on Xiaomi devices. This article
xiaomiui.net
---
I don't know where do you see 12.5.9 for Lisa - I had 12.5.8 EEA) , but there should be not much difference
Anyway, install the following app and you can check which versions are available for Lisa (for stock Global, EEA, Indian, etc) or custom Xiaomi.eu:
MIUI Downloader - Apps on Google Play
MIUI upgrade app for Mi users.
play.google.com
It shows the Latest but click on Older and you will see all the previously released (stable) versions.
Btw, under Indian, I don't find 12.5.9, neither under Global or EEA (under Global there are eg 12.5.11 and 12.5.14)
From the app, you can also choose and download Recovery (zip) or Fastboot (tgz) stock ROM for the wanted version - depending on your flashing method as above
thank you very much. I did request to unlock the bootloader in the mi unlock app, but all the custom A11 roms stopped development or moved onto A12, so I didn't see much point in unlocking bootloader.
as i understand, if i am on the indian firmware, i can flash the indian rom without BL unlock. but if BL is unlocked, do i need to switch firmware as well to install say the Global ROM ?
about 12.5.9, i mistook it as the last version before they moved to 13. sorry about that.

When you unlock Bootloader it does not prevent you to update India ROM by stock Recovery method
It just gives you the additional option to switch eg to Global by flashing Fastboot/tgz ROM
Its like, you can always go by foot, but if you have a car, you have the additional option to go by car
Please take your time, Google, read to acquire further knowledge and know-how.
There are tons of guides here on XDA, on the Net, Google videos, etc

Question How to convert LE2111 OP9 phone to EU ROM?

[Posting here since this forum seem a bit more active than OP9 forum.]
Hi guy. What are the steps I can follow to convert my Indian(LE2111) OP9 with Indian Oxygen OS to EU variant?
Wanted to get away from the bloatware in Indian ROM & EU variant seems to support dual SIM. Also want the US version of Gpay, etc.
I downloaded Oxygen Updater , changed device to OP9(EU) & downloaded the full OTA ROM. When I try to "Local Install " on Settings page it says "verification failed".
I also downloaded the LocalUpdater apk, which also fails.
I haven't unlocked the bootloader or rooted the device
What steps am I missing?
I have the same needs but for my OnePlus 9 Pro.

Thanks for responding. It's seeming like the process has changed a lot since the last time I flashed ROMs back in OnePlus One days. lol
I'm currently on LE2111(Indian ROM) C60 on Indian variant OP9(dual sim, no wireless charging). I want to move over to EU ROM.
So are the steps:
1. Downgrade to android 11 using MSM Indian tool.
2. Flash android 11 using MSM EU tool
3. Update from OTA/Oxygen Updater.
??

Or you could do it in simpler way: after downgrading to A11 with MSM Indian tool use Oxygen Updater and select EU device, in the app’s settings: “Stable (full)” update method and enable advanced mode.
This will let you download the latest EU full ZIP, which you can install via the system’s built-in “local install” feature or the separate local upgrade APK https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/OPLocalUpdate_For_Android12.apk

I have proposed a modification based on the input I've got from someone else but apparently it doesn't work.
