Zuk Z2 GETTING REALLY HOT - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

Does anyone know what to do if the full Zuk z2 has been getting really hot after a few minutes of usage. I'll be on Twitter teen watch a short video on YouTube and the back gets really warm to around 40°. Does anyone have a solution? I feel like this will deteriorate the battery over time and already feels like the battery is discharging faster than normal?

I think it depends a lot on the rom you use. Have you tried switching to another?

[Q] Games drain battery almost 40% an hour?

I got the LG G4 last week and every time I game on the phone, it uses 38% of my battery or so per hour. Is this normal? Nothing else uses much battery, the gaming optimizer is on and I've disabled extra apps I don't need.
I also notice my phone gets too hot to touch sometimes when playing a game.
At this rate I only get a little over 2 hours of use on a fully charged phone, which is crazy.
I have the Tmobile version, if that matters.
Does this happen to anyone else? My Samsung S4 and Xperia Z3 Compact had MUCH better gaming time than my G4. Maybe I have a dud?

Sounds about right if its an intense game. It has to push 2k pixels, where as the s4 and z3 has much fewer. I kept having weird glitches with the game optimizer on playing final fantasy record keeper, so I turned it off and things worked fine. For that game it was probably closer to 30% an hour for me. I also have my brightness 35% or less too. Try turning off the game optimizer and see what happens. What is your brightness?

Is there any way to lower the pixel density so it doesn't have to push such high quality graphics? Another person said they thought the g4 is a terrible option for gaming because it has a bad GPU and that might be why it gets hot as well. I tend to play games on my phone alot when I'm waiting for something or bored so losing 38% battery an hour makes the phone a terrible fit for me. I have 14 days to return it, so I'm thinking about getting a phone like the s5 or something.
I'll try turning the optimizer off and see if that changes anything. My brightness depends on where I am but at home i keep it at about 30%.
Lower the graphics quality in the game and turn down the brightness, you can't do much more.
And 40% sounds completely reasonable.
This is what I noticed playing Juice Jam. It drains fast with auto brightness (50%). I'll try disabling game optimizer and see if it does anything.
Not much you can do except fiddle with the brightness.
And you're correct with the G4 not being a good gaming device. The GPU isn't exactly the greatest but still formidable. But with that 1440p screen, you can't expect magic. I would only do minor casual gaming on this thing (ie. Checking up on village in COC sort of thing with a few raids), nothing intense. Otherwise you would need a different phone. The Sony Xperia (Z3 I think?) are good for gaming with their insane battery life. S6 would be your next best bet.
Jumped here only to mention the Z3 battery life ... It is worth every penny when it comes to screen on time. By the end of the day it hits 5~6 hours of sot mainly gaming where as the g4 hardly gets 3~4 hours of moderate use.
Currently own both the Z3 and the G4 and both in dual SIM versions too

Yes, you can lower the pixel density. That will probably cause some UI inconsistencies throughout the phone, but most things should work, but from seeing it on the Note 4, a lot of things won't as well.
I'd say, don't fret. You're getting 2 hours of playing games on your phone... If you picked the G4 for THAT reason, return it. Surely there are better phones, as mentioned, the Z3 has great battery life - probably the best for a phone its size. There's also the OPO and the Zen Mate 7. All have GREAT battery life, but of course, lack in other features.
Would I have preferred a 1080p screen? Yes! Why do I need a higher quality screen in my phone than in my living room? Lol. Is there anything I can do about this now that we already have this 2k screen frenzy? Nope. Even the next Sony device us rumored to jump onto its bandwagon as well...

Heating up

My Acro S is running android 5.1.1. by Paul. The problem is that the phone heats up and the battery drain comes with it. Not when using whatsapp or any other ''light'' app like notes or something, although the battery would need to hold longer using those too but all the problems start when playing a game/youtube/twitch, apps like that. Playing pokemon go my battery drain rate is 1% in 1 minute, pretty much the same with youtube. The back of the phone gets really hot, the screen gets really hot and once it heats up really bad it gets slow and shuts down apps. Should i try to change the battery or what is the problem here?
I know you will blame me, but XPERIA S is ****ing 5 YRS OLD!!! When was your last battery replacement? Shortly after braking Xperia s i got i9300 and i'm happy with my Nexus 5 Replace battery, like i had on mine, and the problem should be resolved. Just use original batteries, dont use extra large batteies, as they lie in actual capacity.

Xperia ZL performance problem and 3rd party battery

Hi my friend
I wonder if unoriginal battery can cause bad performance and high temperature?
I think it can definitely cause high temperature but what about performance?
Do you think bad battery can cause bad performance? Most LAG, maybe freeze also
My Xperia ZL has unoriginal battery and it gets very hot in summer, sometimes I feel very bad feeling in hands while holding it, it's like electricity running all the time on it's rear cover...
very hot in summer, the screen and the back also.
If its a bad battery of course it can bring high temperature, i brought a 3rd party battery for me, it fells more cooler than before, but i not tested it to much, cause i'm selling the phone to a friend and he is testing it, the only annoying thing is the standby, it keeps decreasing juice a lot, will try some roms to see what i can get.
Hi, I'm having this battery
http://www.shopclues.com/original-mobile-battery-for-l35-for-sony-xperia-zl-l35h-2330-mah.html
it's expected to be original, but my friend who deals with repairing of mobiles, said it is not, but it's still a good quality battery
costed me like $16
it does work for one full day if I use for songs, phone call, and little bit networking
it surely does not last like original, but this works, and I'm not disappointed with this purchase
just look for original battery at sony service center, or get from online retailer, some google, that can lead you to original battery seller
about your questions:
on this battery, I was playing kingdom rush when it was 90% hope so battery lasted for an hour
and max temp was 36 c for me
but yes, I have greenify, and all bull**** was stopped on my RR 7.1.2 ROM
A battery can give bad performance, if it has bad build quality, so just try to get from good source
In the beginning, a bad battery will usually drain faster like 50...40...30...20... OFF, no shutdown, just deadly off, that's a sign, to protect your mobile from hardware based damage, and also software
just make sure you use an app that provides tickle charging, that helps battery last longer, refrain from bad charging behaviour like, don't keep in charge at 60%, wait for it to be near 25%, and do a full charge
follow good charging habits, and remove unnecessary stuff to prevent drainage
and you would be good to go

Have you looked at the battery or CPU temperature for your phone? I'm wondering this too about my own. I sit at around 85 F (29.4 C) while it is in my pocket. It gets down to 72 F (22.2 C) while on the table. That's about the room's temperature.
Definitely getting warmer during certain use than my S8+ ever did (I remember noticing that it pretty much never got hot) or even my Note 8.
I have an Exynos version though so probably has something to do with how inefficient it is when the cpu ramps up.
Haven't noticed any warming on normal use. When gaming, yes specially pubg. Not too much coc.
SD variant.
Is it about 22,5C CPU temperature when not used, its the same with rooms temperature. after 15 mins of use for example scrolling on FB it reaches 35C both battery and CPU (from AIDA64). Battery also drains fast. Last night 30 mins of scrolling on FB lost 10. Screen brightness is always less than half. and only WiFi and sync are enabled. AOD disabled. Bixby button and bixby home page disabled. While sleeping also battery loses about 8-10%. Yesterday with 15 mins driving with google maps the screen was burning.

Honestly, i would recommend it. Even the plus. For me tho carrying more than one phone for work and stuff it got old having the s8+. But for the s9, man the stereo speakers sound great. Much better than last yr but of course they werent stereo so diff is noticeable. As for pubg, i really have messed with resolution and looks great i think im on fhd. While playing tho the s9 does warm up, havent checked exact temp but its noticeable. Cant say if it does the same on the s9+. Hope someone can confirm.
I look at it this way, like having a macbook air for gaming vs a macbook pro, the air will make more noise and warm up vs the pro.

LG G4 vs Xperia XA1 Ultra

Hey guys,
I am finding myself in a difficult position to make my mind on which phone suits me better.
I had the LG G4 for some time now and I found it really amazing. Always moving fast, reliable with GPS direction plus a nice attractive UI. It's main issue though was the battery draining so fast. For the past months my phone was always drained at the end of the day even with minimal usage. I ordered a brand new battery and replaced the current one just to see I can barely see an improvement.
On the other hand, I've been using my brother's Xperia XA1 Ultra in a trip and I was just amazed by this phone battery. It was performing at least 3 times better in terms of battery life and at the end of the day I still had over 40%+ of juice left. However, I had experienced trouble with Google Maps getting the compass to point the right direction I was facing and the back camera didn't really felt like a improvement for me.
Is there indeed an upgrade (hardware related) moving from LG G4 to Xperia XA1 Ultra? Is there something I can do to prolong my LG G4 battery life?

Latest aoscp or LOS with titan kernel will get the most possible battery life out of the g4. The display panel of the g4 is the main reason for draining so much. Replace it with an amoled one and you will get a week.. Lol.

I have two extended battery packs from power beat and an external battery wall charger so I never use the charging port
Each battery lasts me 27 hours with heavy use
