LG F460 not detected on computer (win7) even after installing driver - G3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, i have problem with my f460s. i just bought this phone from internet running with kitkat. it has bootloop prob but when i plug in charger it can boot normally. based on this prob, i had a feeling that an upgrade would fix bootloop. i searched on internet how to flash it and the kdz file and i found it. the name of the kdz file is F460S30h_00_0425. its actually my first time doing this kind of thing and it went successful. i made it to home screen and then suddenly a notification appeared. its says google play service need an update blablabla and i just go with it. after its finished the download, my phone restarted and guess what? my phone cant boot anymore. i cant go to download mode, rec mode and cant charge (only shows empty battery and a circle). after 5 hours of browsing i found that this is called "Hardbrick". i got some guide/method for xda to fix this but not sure which one should i choose. i wanted started from this https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/unbrick-lg-model-download-recovery-t3060184 but before doing the instruction i realized that my f460s isnt detected by computer. tried to connecting my phone to my pc with no simcard and micros d(with battery/without battery) and pressing vol up button but sadly i cant see it in windows device manager even after i installed lg universal driver and qdloader hs-usb driver. its almost 1 week and i cant figure out how to fix my phone. i feels so frustated right now. i would appreciate any help or reply. thank you and sorry for grammar.

Dead Lg G3

So I bought a used G3 knowing about the issue it had; it didn't boot. I thought I could find a workaround to this but the phone doesn't boot, doesn't enter recovery or download mode. All the info I have is that when I take off the battery the pc sees it as an unknown device, while it's connected I press the power button for several seconds and it disconnects from the pc, reconnects after several more seconds of pressing the power button. Screen remains dead. Seller told me he had a perfectly working phone before he tried to root it and it never turned on again. One more indication is that the LED notification only flashed red a few times when I connected it to the wall charger and that was it. No LED working after that. I'm open to any suggestions though I guess I'm here for someone to tell me there's no hope reviving the device. Thanks in advance!
Same proble with mine but i bricked mines when update to lollipop and never turn on again . still waiting to some one help to revive my LG
If I come across any solution I'll post it here. In the meantime I've tried the following method on a freshly formatted laptop and I still get "Unknown Device" in Device Manager..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
same here
same problem, someone told me that if was the board or something like that and that it only can be fixed with a complete replacement of this, also, that it could be fixed with linux using comands to install .APK or .TOT.
linux sometimes sees it as Qualcomm CDMA Technologies MSM QHSUSB_BULK, using a virtual machine of linux ubuntu, windows 8.1 sees it as unknow device
LG dead since 3 months ago.................. i wasnt using the phone at all when this happended so........... :crying:

I tried using a boot usb drive to see if ubuntu saw the device but it didn't. Maybe there's some things needed that I didn't do. The thing I don't understand the most is why do windows see it as an unknown device only with the battery out while if I connect the G3 with the battery on, it doesn't show anything on device manager..

Hi there.
Please check these 2 threads out and see if any of it will help you. The one for the G2 can also be used for G3.
Here are the links:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/unbrick-lg-g3-qhsusbbulk-qualcomm-9008-t3072091 With this technique you would have to find the software online somewhere but this method does revive dead G3 with these symptoms.

If I helped somehow, hit the THANKS button.
Good luck!
The thing is I can only get the device to be recognized as an Unknown Device in Device Manager and only with its battery out. If I keep 'volume up' pressed nothing happens, it's only shown after I simply connect the USB cable and it pops up after 10 seconds or so. It's very consistent in the way it behaves..
A small update, sometimes when I pull and put the battery again, I connect the phone to a pc while holding down vol- and the pc makes the connected usb sound while the phone led is blinking red for a couple of minutes, then it stops. That's about all there is concerning the phone giving signs of life..

LG G3 in download mode not detected by Windows

Dear xda-developers-community,
I'm trying to get a phone of a friend of mine working which just reboots whenever the phone is started. The resulting boot loop can only be interrupted by taking the battery out or wait until it is depleeted.
In order to fix this soft-brick I first tried to use recovery by pressing VOL - & POWER. In the menu, I could select and confirm to recover to factory settings, but after some seconds the boot loop appeared again with (seemingly?) no change having been made. The error kept appeaing over and over again.
After trying recovery mode, I attempted to start the phone in download mode by pressing VOL + on the (switched off) phone and connecting a USB cable. The respective menu also opened, here, showing "Firmware Update" and "Do not unplug the USB connection until the process is complete". According to many tutorials I found on the internet, when having installed the required drivers (I used LG United Mobile drivers from here), this procedure should allow you to flash a recovery image through LG's flashing tool (which one can also find on that page).
However, when I connect the LG G3 (D855) to a computer the driver is installed on, there is no new device shown in the Device manager. I tried this out with Windows 10 x64 and Windows 7 x64 and disabled driver validation on both systems and enabled test signing on Windows 10, respectively. Additionally, I followed these instructions, but in this case the screen stays dark and the device is not detected either. It seems like there are not so many people experiencing this error, but I hope we can find a solution.

This may sound like a dumb question, but have you tried a new battery yet? If it is one of the original batteries it could have gone bad & started bootlooping...like mine did a few months ago.
As far as the PC not recognizing the phone you can try downloading USBDeview and uninstall anything that has the vendor ID's of 1004 & 18d1(pretty much anything that says android or LGE in the description) & reboot the PC. Hopefully it'll recognize your device and install the drivers the next time you plug it in. If it doesn't find the drivers automatically for you then install LG drivers manually.
Link for usbdeview: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
Link for LGE drivers: http://www.lg.com/us/support/software-firmware-drivers
Good luck :fingers-crossed:

something weird with my lg g3

So yesterday i was browsing facebook on my phone when it suddenly freezes and i couldnt do anything so i took the bactery out. Now my phone wont boot it stuck on logo screen but this time not LED appears i dont see the LG logo moving i use to see a bright color thingy near it and this time no flashing LED i can enter twrp recovery but the internal storage becomes 0 and i cant flash a new rom because it gave me an error. I tried to enter download mode i thought it work it said download mode then for a few secs the screen just turn black and nothing. So this is basically hard bricked im guessing?

It's just the universe's way of telling you to stay off of facebook
You can tell if it is a hardbrick if your G3 shows up as something strange in the device manager of your PC like qualcomm 9006 or 9008 or something else under "ports" and will not be recognized as a phone. So check what your device manager on your computer says under "portable devices" and "ports", when you plug the phone in and you can tell if you're bricked or not.
For reference: when i'm in download mode(firmware update screen)on a healthy G3 my pc sees the phone as LGE Android MTP device under "potable devices", LGE Mobile for VZW USB serial port(com41) under "ports", and "LGE Mobile for VZW USB Composite Device" under USB controllers. (*Don't mind the VZW tags as that denotes it is for a Verizon phone.)
It's good you can get into recovery, but internal storage reading 0 in recovery is strange. What error do yo get when trying to flash something in recovery? Have you tried reflashing the TWRP recovery zip or .img file in your recovery? Have you tried a different/new battery(check the date code on the battery to see how old it is - if it's 2014 it's probably bad)? A bad battery can cause random shutdowns and bootloops, it could cause your phone to reboot while in download mode(which could be why you don't make it to the "firmware update" screen after it says "download mode"), but I doubt it would cause the recovery errors
Also, please include your G3 variant (D855, Vs985, etc.) and the ROM you were running when all of this happened. Someone may have experienced your issue before and it could be ROM/variant specific with an easy fix...if it's fixable and not a catastrophic hardware issue.
Best of luck to you getting it fixed :good:
yup it says qualcom 9008 thingy i might try to reflash an image and see what happens lol im planning to buy a new phone anyway so if it cant be fixed oh well idc XD. battery is from 2014 and its lg d855
Happened to me several times, phone get overheat then just refuse to turn on
In my case, I let it charge to 100% and if still not booting, reflash the ROM

Oneplus 3 just died out of no where

So i was using my phone and decided to restart it after updating my adaway files but my phone never turned back on. The two press the power button screens did not show up either. I tried to uses the MSMdownload tool since i thought my phone was somehow bricked but that didnt work either, it just kept restarting the download process after everything was completed. my computer makes a sound when its connected and it connects correctly as a quallcomm 9008 device but even after all this nothing is working. has anyone experienced something like this or does anyone have any advice?
did you try to long press both power button and vol up ...you should feel a vibration...
maybe it's not turned of maybe it's error causing the screen to be off... also is there any heat?
Which method of the unbrick tool did you use? First or second? If the first, then maybe you should give the second also a try.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
I've tried everything and I used th me second method yet nothing happened. I can see my phone get recognized by the computer and get listed on the MSN device list yet nothing happens after it finishes the process. After the green line shows up telling me that it's completed everything the process restarts writhing a few minutes unless I unplug it. No vibration no nothing the phone just died on me after I restarted it .
Try doing MSM on a different PC with all drivers installed , hope it helps
Try to repeat flashing again, there is no other way. Use method 2only. Extract tool again and try flash.
When I was used Xperia Z1, I bricked my phone with a soft brick. So I installed driver in my PC and flash Kernel though FASTBOOT(ADB) either it's not show Device in my PC (I show just "Unknown Device").
After that my phone can connect to my PC again (Now It shown C9303 or something that meant it know it's a phone).
So I can flash by Flashtools again. Soft brick is not scary as Hard brick, you'll find some way to bring it back easily.
Hope this help!
PS. Bricked Phone is WEAK in Battery, always connect it with charger.

Bricked my LGG3

Hello everyone,
so here's my problem:
Wednesday morning i took my phone out of my pocket and had a blackscreen. I tried to restart it and took out the batterie but i always got stuck in the LG Logo or a bootloop. Since i had TWRP and lineage OS installed, i tried to go into the twrp menu with the factory mode (power button + volume down) but after the "double yes" i always got a blackscreen.
So i went into the internet to fix it myself. I tried the "LG Flash Tool 2014" with the kdz. reset & the other Flash tool with the tot. reset. Both didnt recognize my phone. At this point, the only thing that worked was the download mode BUT not the recovery mode that usually comes after it. It just showed the download mode for some seconds and then a black screen. Later i noticed that my phone showed as a "qualcomm device" in the device manager, and the internet said that this was bad. So i used "Board diag" and "Smart boot diag" to fix it, but at the point where the device should have restarted, and the download mode should have worked WITH the recovery mode, i always ONLY had the 6 second download mode. After messing a bit with "Board Diag" i even got it to show up as LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port in the device manager, which apparently was even more bad and only way to go back to qualcomm was to shorten the pins which i did. And it worked BUT now i was back with the qualcomm stuff.
So as you can see, i've prety much run i circles since wednesday... Iam now at a point where 3 different thingscan happen when I try to put my LG into download mode (volume up + usb cable):
1. Its recognized as a unknown device which is constantly connecting and diconnecting, so iam assuming my phone is bootlooping with a black screen.
2. The download mode icon shows on my phone and disappears after some seconds but my pc fails to recognize it.
3. Nothing happens and the screen stays black
When i only connect the usb cable, it shows a stuck charging icon for some seconds and then goes black. Connecting without a battery shows the "missing battery icon". I tried with 2 pc's, both having the LG mobile driver 4.2 and the qualcomm driver installed AND beeing in testmode. Both don't recognize the device. I also tried 2 batteries on my phone but it changes nothing.
I have a D855. And i know that my situation is pretty f*cked but maybe someone i able to help me anyway. Thanks alot.
