How to change Op3 to Pixel XL using build. prop on OOS? - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Hello all,
Could anyone please guide me what to change in build.prop in order to show it as a Pixel XL for play Store? Again, I'm using OOS not any custom rom. I will really appreciate if someone can guide me.
REASON: Modern Combat Versus is out as a beta and pixel XL + Sammy devices are supported. I don't know about Sammy but people have had success changing phone id to pixel for assistant to work. There are some lines in OOS build.prop which are not available usually in custom ROMs.
EDIT:
below are the lines which the tutorial showed but are not present exactly in OOS:
ro.product.model=Pixel XL
ro.product.brand=google
ro.product.name=marlin
ro.product.device=marlin
ro.product.board=marlin
ro.product.manufacturer=google

For Google Assistan it was this for adding to build.prop
ro.product.model=Pixel XL
ro.opa.eligible_device=true
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
But i think you only would need the first line. Give it a try. (You need root for this)

I already have root actually. All i need now is a proper direction to make sure it appears as a Pixel Xl on play store. I have another tutorial from youtube buy those lines aren't present in OOS build.prop

You can add those lines to the bottom of build.prop.

These lines can't be added. They need to be properly edited to replace OnePlus branding with Google Pixel Xl. i don't want to do anything stupid because i am not much experienced with it.

Then backup your build.prob with either copying the file or content.
And then replace it.
I dont think you can destroy really much, when editing this
Just an idea: Maybe you can add this lines at the bottom, because the file gets read sequentially and the values get overwritten? I really dont know. But worth a try.

Wow! Really works thanks OP! :good:

Tried it on 190dpi and you can get some weird vertical end call button thingy, so only use for 160dpi.
Gotta say...CM9 just looks so much better at 160.

good find
Thanks for this! and say I wanna go back to the 240 dpi do I just uninstall the apk?
You shouldn't have to uninstall the apk just to go back to 240. Just reset your dpi with ROM toolbox or in the build prop and reboot.

Works great on Codename but is there anyway to get the answering tab moved up a little bit so that the whole slider icon appears fully on the screen?? Right now it is still usable but only half of the icon shows up when answering the phone. No big deal and once again thanks for this apk.

Erick or someone would probably have to edit the drawable to make it fit on screen at 160. I know exactly what you're talking about, but I don't really have the experience to make those changes.

I wish I was ninja at messing around with the values any further, still trying to figure out how to use apk tool... complicated. Did find where I think the value that needs to be changed to fix it though:
res\values\dimens.xml
in_call_incoming_cal_widget_height
For some stupid reason I can't get it to compile. When and IF I do I'll upload the fixed version asap.

I finally got it to compile, apparently it was because I was using and older apktool thingy.
But as for the little button, I was wrong on the assumption of changing that value since changing it did nothing to move ic_in_call_touch_handle_normal, so it's something else...

sadly it says voice not supported on mine, any ideas why?

Works on Codename just fine, according to cicada. AOKP seems to be the one having the issue, although that could just be case by case basis.
It's nice that this app works for 160 pix density but is it possible to have it also fix the ghost wifi app

Can this work on mini v4
I prefer the DPI set at 200. Would it be possible to tweak this package for other DPI's? I'm not sure if it would require twice the work or just modifying some values. Thanks for your effort on this!!

[MOD][4/14/2014] - Unlocked Tether - Remove Keyboard indicator! - Updated

Removes tether check. Verizon, IMHO, has no right to restrict how you use data. And to charge more for how you use your data is ridiculous.
To me that is like the water company telling me I have to pay more if I want to take a shower vs taking a bath. Its water. This is data. Get over it Verizon.
Updated: 4/14/2014: Fixed some apps have random error code 106 and The Verge App not working.
Big thanks to bajasur for his help!
This is for MJE based ROMS Only!
Same tricked used on every Samsung device ever made...
Original hack posted HERE and ported to Note 3 by me (and all the other devs in there ROMS).
Flash in recovery. Should work fine with Safestrap or unlocked devices...
Works on odex or de-odex. Most custom ROMS have this so I dont recommend using it over any custom ROM.
Designed more so for stock or stock rooted ROMS / Devices.
Two for one special: Also removes the keyboard indicator from the status bar!

How to make this mod...
Decompile framework-res
Open /res/values/arrays.xml
Find this:
Code:
<string-array name="config_mobile_hotspot_provision_app">

com.sec.tetheringprovision

com.sec.tetheringprovision.TetheringProvisionActivity

</string-array>
Change it to this:
Code:
<array name="config_mobile_hotspot_provision_app" />
That unlocks tether by telling framework to not look for a check.
Next to get rid of that hideous keyboard indicator (That I admittedly once liked)..
Edit bools.xml and look for ime_notification and turn it from true to false.
Now recompile and pat yourself on the back!
Just wasting space with this post...
Thanks.

is it possible for someone to post an already modified framework-res.apk file or is each phone different?

Figured out what the issue was.
In the Note 3, you can specify the broadcast channel under show advanced options for the hotspot frequency, either 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz. I must have selected 5.0 somehow and my laptop only sees 2.4.
Once I checked 2.4, unchecking 5.0, it started working as it should.

[Theme][Boot Animations][flashable] Feb 8, 2016

V10 Boot Animation Collection (wip)
Ok I so this phone is badass but for some reason we got a bunch of slackers in this section not doing jack squat (including me...for now!) so I decided today to finally get this ball rolling and made this boot animation. I notice that there is a whole lot of nothing out there for us so I made this specifically for our device. I think it's pretty cool and decided to share it. I will likely add to this from time to time (if time permits) And I am also planning on making some full on themes for us. That g4 theme engine thing is cool and all but I need more than that can offer. So that will be my next tinkering. Ok so enough rambling. I'll post a couple screenshots of actual images and you can use your imagination for the rest and try it if you like. You know the drill by now, backup your current bootanimation if you want and then flash this. no need to wipe anything. If you are a rom builder and wanna use any of these in your roms for our device go right ahead. I really don't care if you credit me or link here to be honest, just don't claim to have made it is all I ask!
Oh and if you're wondering why the heck these things are so heavy, well that's because some of these have over 400 images! And our device is actually interesting in that normal boot animation tricks to save size do not work and actually will distort and cause the animation to flicker!
Enjoy!

This is a smorgasbord kinda thread right? Where users contribute and add their own boot animations and stuff?
At least that's what it looks like, I meant I plan to make some boot animations of my own and add them to this, if it is supposed to be a collection of user made boot animations.
And the boot animation images are not working on Tapatalk, Chrome, trying to share the image brings up nothing, no link or such.

To be completely honest having them show via tapatalk app is the least of my worries. I wasn't even going to make those screenshots and decided last minute to post them. Anyone who knows me or follows me on Google plus where I'm far more active knows I make crazy stuff so I'm not worried about it

Enjoy the phone, looks awesome. If I hadn't just dropped $2K on a high end desktop, I'd be all over this.
What kind of max bg apps does it have in build.prop?
Oneplus is still pretty aggressive with memory management at 32 for their 8gb ram phone.
Does it have a night light mode?

Call quality sounds great. I've only used it a couple of times. I had a Google Pixel XL before and this seems to get signal better than that slightly. Using T-Mobile out in the woods, and I would sometimes get spotty coverage, but with this phone it didn't miss a beat.

DPI
Thanks for doing this.
I'm looking at picking one up in January but i haven't been able to find anything on DPI. Is there anywhere in the Display or Developer Options, settings pages to let you change the display scale?
Thanks.
Are you on T-Mobile? Have you gotten Wifi calling to work? I can't seem to get mine's working.

Or is that only for demo phones?
And the colorful Razer wallpaper is missing from initial start
Mine didn't come with the games. Seems that they are all freemium though anyway.

There is a live wallpaper for this already. You can adjust the bezel thickness and rotation of colors and stuff. It's called borderlight.

Hey, this is great work. Please disregard all the stupid comments that everyone else is making. I am getting my Oneplus 6T probably on Christmas or later on this month (Still rocking my Oneplus 3T). This simple static border will be a huge help because it will serve as a template when I try to animate it with KLWP. The issue with borderlight, that I dislike is the fact that it doesn't work with your current wallpaper (replaces). I can easily edit my wallpapers to have have the edge using Toolwiz. This is great work and can't wait for the update.
You can find a short sample of my wallpapers on Google+ under the name (Yushi TK)
Or simply search "Tokidoki" on Zedge
Rock on dude!

I would have to get the actual phone to play around with the idea more effectively. I used my most recently tweaked wallpapers to sort of get the effect. These wallpapers and more can be found on Zedge or my G+ as previously mentioned. Here is the result....
Do you have a link for the matte screen protector?

Thanks man . I don't know how you going to animate it but good luck. I couldn't find for 6T so i made one. When I mentioned update, I meant perfecting the curves . If you want, I can share psd file you can put whatever you want in the border..

Impressive, I love that IP Address joke. What font type and size are you using? One more question, is it possible to change the notch color or customize for that matter?
Thanks OP for the template! Hope you don't mind, I'm planning to make us some bootanimations with this!

That looks awesome and I imagine that it would be pretty cool with the liveboot animation. Are you using Windows, MacOS or a Linux distro to compile your bootanimations? I would like to make one for myself, but I'm running Linux (Ubuntu 18.04 Budgie)
