Annoying "feature" of the Gallery app - Honor 8 Pro Questions & Answers

The option to display pictures on a world map works only for pictures stored in folder "DCIM\Camera". If you have other pictures, like pictures taken with another phone, or you want to move pictures to sub-folders then the option is no longer available.
Basically to use the feature you need to dump all your pictures into just one big messy folder....
PS: this used to work very well in EMUI4, all pictures could be shown on the map regardless of which folder they were stored in.

Does anybody know if the gallery app in the Oreo update removes this limitation?

solved/never-broken: Gallery 3d and Camera storage... where is it?

I upgraded to the new radio and to a 2.2 rom.
So /sdcard/DCIM/100MEDIA still contains my images as before.
But the gallery3d doesn't see them.
If I take a picture, then I can see those pictures in the gallery, but I can't seem to find where it's stored.
it's not in /emmc/DCIM or anything labeled media on /sdcard or otherwise.
What am I missing? I'm sure it's staring me in the face, but I can't see it.
Edit/Addendum. Now it automagically found all my photos from the sdcard.

Dropbox+Eye-Fi and camera upload any advise?

I'm trying to do the following.
I have a eye-fi card in my camera that transfers photos to my phone.
I also have a dropbox with "camera upload" feature turned on.
I have an app that copies photos from eye-fi folder to a DCIM/Camera folder.
What I expected to happen is that dropbox would pick that up and sync but this is not the case, it seems dropbox doesn't monitor "Camer Uploads" folder.
Does any one know if it still monitors some folder to do the camera upload or it is just registered to listen to the camera events and picks up the photo that was just taken?
Does anyone know good app that can mimic the "Camera Uploads" mode of dropbox? The FolderSync cannot do it exactly the way the DrobBox does, I've tested that already.

Android 7.0 Camera App Issues

When I take a picture in Android 7.0 using the stock camera app, it seem to create the jpg file in DCIM/Camera but it also creates an identically named folder, which is empty, in the same location.
For example, after taking a picture I will have:
/DCIM/Camera/IMG_20160829_182739.jpg
/DCIM/Camera/IMG_20160829_182739/
Does anyone know why or more importantly how to disable this?

[Q] The photo backup thing...i'm lost!

I need clarification on photos I take on my Pixel 2XL backup process and keeping them in Albums.
I have noticed if I take a pic on my Pixel 2XL it shows it is being backed up then will show “Back-up Complete”. Where is this mystery ‘backup’? Also, if I take a pic, upload it to an album in Google Photos and then delete the pic from the phone, the pic is also deleted from the album! What am I missing here?!?! I want the pic off my phone but still kept in the album within Google Photos.
Yes you are right. Pixel using photos for backup. Phone and photos server try to be sync.
If you delete a pic from your phone with the "galery" or with the photos app It will delete the photo from the server too. and vice versa.
If you want to remove pic from your phone and keep it in the photos. (https://photos.google.com/) you have to go to:
Photos - settings - Back up& Sync. Make sure it is tunerd ON
Then go to Free up device storage
Pictures will be removed from the phone but will be stored with original quality @ https://photos.google.com/
I hope this is what you ask for.
Many thanks! Worked perfectly. Damn I love this phone lol!!!

How to automatically save screenshots in the Screenshots folder in Google Photos?

Every time that I take a screenshot using my Oppo A52, the Google Photos automatically saves this screenshot to my main camera folder in Google Photos. It's annoying that I have many screenshots crowding the actual photos taken with my camera.
For my previous phones (Motorola g5 plus and Huawei P30), screenshots are automatically saved to the Screenshots folder in Google Photos, and doesn't appear in the main camera folder, where only photos taken with the camera are shown. Does anyone know how I can make this happen with my Oppo A52 ? My Google Photos app on my Oppo A52 doesn't even have a Screenshots folder.
When I googled this to try and find some solutions, some websites suggested downloading a third party app, but I think that's unnecessary given that the other older phones can automatically save screenshots to the screenshots folder without using any third party app.
Can someone please help me, it's annoying that I need to manually delete a screenshot every time that I take a screenshot, in order to prevent screenshots crowding my main camera folder in Google Photos.
Thanks for your help.
I don't think there's an option unfortunately. Only thing I've seen is to use an app called PinSync.
