Tate TPU Screen protector - Samsung Galaxy S8+ Accessories

I've just fitted this from Amazon - I wasted the first one as I didn't follow instructions (typical bloke yes) but after watching their youtube vid the second one went on perfectly. I fitted this in the bathroom after running a hot shower for 5 mins.

No bubbles, no dust, works with case and covers the edge. Its a film rather than tempered glass - similar to ZAGG but a fraction of the price (£5.19) and not as grippy.

100% full coverage screen protecto

is there such thing aside from the spigen curved one? i heard the spigen ones are garbage. i've used skinomi (they were all right, not as durable), they covered 95% of the screen. the zagg invisible shields were garbage, wasted 25$ and thought it covers the whole screen but it left a huge gap.
Try Tippin Screen protector.
tippin is where its at for full curved protectors.. just remember any case that wraps around the edge tightly is probably not compatible
Does this tippin cover as good if not better than SGP Curved Crystal? The reason I ask is the images on Amazon show that it does not cover the portion immediately above the ear speaker. I love the curved crystal except for the dents that won't disappear. Does the tippin have this problem? Thanks!
the tippin pretty much covers all. ear speaker, sensors+camera, and home button are cut out. if you press on it hard enough with your nail, itll leave a dent. will it go away eventually? dont know, probably not. i think the tippin scratches kind of easily. i noticed a small rainbow line. not sure if its a scratched screen protector or cracked glass. another thing about these screen protectors...you have a small margin for error for placement. i was ocd at first and wanted it on 100% perfect alignment. i tried the tape the side method. thought i had it on perfect, but nope. a small sliver didnt stick because it was on slightly to the left. took the whole thing off and could not put it on as good as before. i spent almost an hr, gave up and ended up with even worse alignment. so my advice is get it aligned the way you want it on the 1st try. since these were a ***** to apply, id like a screen protector thats between full and gapped coverage. but the clarity is good and i think it gets slightly less fingerprints than the naked screen.

The Spigen is good. I would say they are far superior to the Skinomi ones.
I went this route. This is now in my top spot for screen protectors.

This is what I use. It covers the entire screen and is smooth. It also seems to repel fingerprints and is somewhat scratch resistent. Most people looking at my phone can't even tell there is a screen protector on it.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I really like the Sigen Curved Crystal but am annoyed with the dents. When new, it is barely noticeable at all. I really wish this were available in more durable finish. The Seidio glass screen protector looks really nice but will not work with my case (Element Eclipse)
I am assuming the Realook is almost the exact same as the SGP curved crystal. The cutouts look the same and the hardness rating is the same. Do you notice dents that don't go away? If I were to use my fingernail to type, the screen protector would become pitted all over.

I don't notice any dents, but I use swype as my keyboard of choice. Do you push hard when texting? I let my 4 and 6 year old use my phone often, and I still don't notice much wear. There are a couple of tiny scrathes on my screen protector, and they are only noticeable in direct light at certain angles. I have had the protector on for about 3 months. My old protector (Zagg HD) showed fingernail dents and nicks about a week after I put it on.

the realook 3d forming is essentially the same thin material as the SGP curved crystal. It does dent very easily, but I do find that the dents flatten out and get much better after a day or two. It's not self-healing by any means, but the depth of the dents actually decreases and becomes almost invisible to the eye if the original dent isn't very deep. But I would echo everyone's advice on this thread: these full screen protectors most certainly will not work with almost every tpu case. Any tight fitting case will push up the corners of the protector no matter what you do. I learned the hard way and had to throw out 3 of them. So the cheap ebay s-curve/s-line tpu cases, diztronic, and mercury cases will not work with these protectors unless you get very lucky with your placement. Though I have all these cases and none of them worked with the realook 3d forming screen protector

Thanks Jottle. I was thinking it is probably the same material as the curved crystal. I have found 3 cases that the full coverage works with: UAG, Eclipse Element and SGP Modello. I love the look of the full coverage with these cases but with the dents, I have to replace the protector about once every 2 months.

I am currently using the Seidio Surface case with my Realook screen protector. It works without any problems. I have also used the Rock Quicksand case and the Incipio Sylicriic without any issues.

Just wanted to add that I've now tried the Tippin full coverage screen protectors as well. They are incompatible with my case as well. There are some tpu cases that will work with full coverage protectors. But the extremely tight ones that barely cover the corners will not.

[Review] Nillkin Tempered Glass Screen Protector [ 1 2

I ordered 2 packs of the Nillkin glass screen protector from Dx-box last week and it arrive yesterday.
Here's my review:
They're well packed. The glass is attached to a hard plastic so it minimize the risk of breaking. I was so excited putting on and didn't take picture of the package. The glass is quite hard, but still bendable. Edges and cutouts for mic/sensors are rounded.
The process putting on is very easy and it feels just like N5 glass.
I don't know why but it seems to have the same bubble problem as the Spigen glass. I think they did not put enough adhesive on.
Mine only has one bubble on the bottom of the screen (on the right of LED notf. light). Visible but not a problem since I love the feel very much,

I had the same issue. I tried to run with it for a few days even though I can't stand bubbles. Anyways, I ended up having to take it off because after 3 days the edges started to get pushed up from my cruzerliite case.
The protector showed promise, especially with the price. But it doesn't adhere well and bubbles appear regardless of how well you prepare it for installation (I work at an AT&T and so I had every screen prep at my disposal...and of course putting on screen protectors is a daily thing for me so user error isn't too common.
You guys should try compressing the bubble down for about 30-60 minutes each spot using a binder clip (one of those black ones) . Be sure to protect the phone and screen by using a microfiber wipe between it (the one that comes with protector works well).
I've installed 3 screens already, and they all started with bubbles. After the binder clips, these protectors are perfect. If it matters, I used the hinge method for install.

How do you recommend I protect a OnePlus One for in pocket use?

Hello
I wanted to start thinking on how to protect my OnePlus One but still be able to store it inside of my pockets.
I usually wear standard 550 Levis so the pockets are pretty OK. Still I perfer a thin case.
Besides a thin case, a screen protector is a must. Ive used Best Skins Ever and ZAGG InvisibleShield and personally I perfer Best Skins Ever because its cheaper and it protects even better.
I do see that nowadays a lot of people are using tempered glass. What difference is there?
On cases, I liked the TUDIA Ultra Tough OMNIX hybrid case but, after I cannot find it in Europe, I see it might be too thick. My previous phone was 14.1 mm and I do not mind at all a thick phone (perfer it actually). How thick is the TUDIA?
On tempered glass, I have no idea as I have no experience.
Could you give me some recommendations? Thank you
For case you want Diztronic case. For screen protector i don't recommend tempered glass. I had 3 in this phone and each time i dropped the phone they break. These are minimal drop that have caused no damage to the rest of the phone. They look nice once installed but 9% of the time are one hit protect in case of serious drop. Problem is any drop will break them. After spending $30 i gave up. You dont need screen protector for phone these days. Just make sure the case has a lump.
I agree.. Diztronic is the way to go for a case. I have the ultra tpu and couldn't be happier.. I do use a nillkin glass screen protector because i do keep my phone in my pocket and want to protect the phone screen from things scratching it.. I'd Rather the protector get scratched than the screen itself..
Tempered Glass
I'm a big fan of the tempered glass protectors, I've had a spartan shield glass one on mine for the past 5 months. Dropped it face down from ~5 feet onto concrete not a scratch, then down a concrete stairwell and only received minor scratches to the protector and nothing on the screen itself.
It is not necessary to use a protector, it will make the phone heavier
I use a orzly scrren protector tempered glass
Fit it while the sun is shining on the display (you can see more dust)
and wipe the dust off with all four fingers (bare fingers)
My provided dist cloth just made the dust stick to the cloth, then screen and back and forth
and when peeling the adhesive off the screen protector hold it flat, mid air above the device, with the top side facing up, and the adhesive facing the phone, NEVER turn the protector so that the front of the protector faces downwards. and apply.
It looks perfect, Feels REALLY smooth, and definatley protects it (I had to get two as i messed the first one up, so i put the old protector on an old phone (was too big but the phone was broken anyway)
I dropped it on concrete. Glass shattered a lot, phone was fine.
One thing about these screen protectors is that if you do get a little dust under it DO NOT TAKE ANY TEMPERED GLASS BACK OFF. you cant peel it back, remove dust and reply. IT MESSES IT UP. The adhesive seperates from the protective glass and they never go back together.
Case wise im using a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md5L4PtkVnU
Agree wholeheartedly

I have this setup as well, except I have a Ringke fusion case and a Niliken glass screen protector. can't tell it's there, have dropped my phone at least 4 times and neither the phone or the glass screen protector has come out of it with a scratch.
You DO need a tempered glass protector
I keep my OPO in my pocket with the Diztronic TPU case and a tempered glass protector (about US$7 on eBay, search for item number 311029665158). One day I forgot that my keys were in my pocket. The tempered glass protector got a scratch, but the screen is fine.
Yesterday my phone fell 3.3m (4 feet) face down onto a brick floor, in the Diztronic case. The tempered glass protector got chipped and cracked, but again, the screen is fine.
I wasn't planning for the phone to fall —*no one ever plans accidents. Be prepared. (I have no connection to Diztronic or the seller of the tempered glass screen protector.)
One nasty detail: In my pocket the OPO gets warm and the touchscreen fails for at least 10 minutes after taking it out of my pocket.
I use a RInkge Fusion clear case, Niliken glass screen protector. I was running for the train and my phone shot out of my pocket and landed face-down on the tiled floor. I panicked, picked it up, but didn't get to look at it until I was on the train. No damage. None, absolutely fine. No crack in the screen protector, no breaking of the case. Absolutely fine. Fall distance, about 3.5 feet. And, it slid about 2 feet after I accidentally kicked it.
I carry my device in my front pocket every day. Never an issue.
Ooooo...

Give yourself time, you may.
I use the tempered glass protector and flip-case which are sold on the OPO site. IMHO the flip-case offers great protection for in and out pocket, as the screen is completely covered. No worries about what's in my pockets along with the phone....and when its open, the tempered glass is protecting it! Also the flip- case does not add much bulk at all...very thin!
The case is mostly just rubber padding. Not really that much protection.
The glass protector is UGLY but I feel that it would get the some done Thanks for all the suggestions.

[Review] IQ Shield Liquid Shield film for GS8/GS8+

Hi XDA community,
Back to sharing my thoughts on the iq shield TPU screen protector for my S8+.
I am from Australia and our selection of screen protectors is not that great here, which led me to try glass and film screen protectors sold locally. Most common issues I found were case compatibility (protectors lifting) and aesthetics (clearness and looks, glue strips, shine).
I finally was able to get a hold of an IQ Shield from the US and have been using it on my phone for approx. 4 months daily. Here are my thoughts:
Touch & Sensitivity 4.5/5 - Not as smooth as the glass underneath, but very responsive. Since this is full contact adhesive to the screen, there shouldn't be any issues with sensitivity
Durability 4/5 – I carry my phone in my pocket with some coins and keys that scratch the film, but it heals back to normal in 1 or 2 days. Since this is a film, it won't prevent your phone from cracks, but in saying that I have dropped my phone at least 5 times from pocket height and nothing has happened to it. Obviously it was the case protecting it, but I would like to think that the screen film also played a part.
Clarity 5/5 - Very clear no issues at all. Looks clear while using with gear vr.
Aesthetics 3.5/5 - After you let the adhesive cure for 1 day, it completely fuses with your screen and looks perfect. You can still see a slight orange peel effect at certain angles, but during normal usage I can never see it.
Case Compatibility 4/5 - I have used this on my Spigen Tough Armor and UAG Monarch and taken the cases on and off multiple times to use the gear vr without lifting at all. Of course, it will depend how well and centered you installed the film, I was using their case friendly updated version, which should work with most cases.
TLR
Very good TPU film protector. It will protect your phone from scratches and looks great. It comes with 2 films and its reputation precedes it from the days of GS7 phones.
Get it if you baby your expensive phone like I do with a good case and you don't want the bulk thickness added from a glass screen protector.
Note on Installation
Watch the installation video multiple times and follow the instructions to the T.
I read somewhere that I shouldn't squeegee too hard because it will stretch the film. I screwed my first installation because of this, since there was a lot of water and bubble left and I let it cure overnight thinking that all of that will disappear overnight.
I recommend you squeegee hard enough to take all water and bubbles before you let it set. I did it that way during application and it looked perfect before even I let it cure overnight.
For Aussies
I found someone on ebay Australia selling them from Brisbane, only 1 S8 and 4 S8+ left last time I checked.
Hope this review helped you.
Thanks!
Thanks for the review. I've been considering ordering this one...
Glad this helped you. Tbh this is one of the best film protector for curved screens.
Armorsuit could be a good alternative if you are after a non-glass protector
Hey man,
Thanks for reviewing. I'm also from Aus and have been looking at purchasing the IQ Shield protector. Did you still have the Ebay link to it or know the name of the Ebay seller?
Cheers
I have to agree with this review. I am pleased with how easy it was to install this protector. I had no bubbles or excess liquid after installation, looked good right from start. To let it dry and set, I just put my phone in a warm area (near my heating duct in my case) and let it sit for 12 hours. Worked like a charm.
I am glad i found someone mention this product, because no tempered glass one worked at all, and was 50/50 on tpu's before.

What case + screen protector combo do you use?

I have the Pixel 2 XL.
I've gone through several TG screen protectors so far. The first blocked the proximity sensor, another wasn't cut right, finally tried the one offered on the Google store but discovered that the case that I was using (Spigen Neo Hybrid) fits so closely that it pushes the edges of the screen protector up, letting dust under it and causing it to fail to register button presses on the corners of the screen!
What combination of case and screen protector have you all found that works for you?
My case is Spigen, and fits pretty tight, it's the only one of three I tried that has a tall enough lip that the screen doesn't touch the surface when laying face down. It is the right amount of protection without obscuring any sensors. mics, or cameras, and it's not slippery but doesn't pull your pocket inside out when you grab it.
The screen protector is Skinomi, and I've had 4 on my 6P and currently on first one on my 2 XL. No touch reduction issues. The surface is not quite as smooth and silky as glass (but many of the glass ones have edge adhesion issues, so I'm waiting), but this offers great drop protection. It is self healing, so if you get a good ding in the protector, it will slowly back itself out and the ding in the protector will be gone in a few days. Until I can find a glass one without the edge issues, this is a good alternative.
I've dropped the 2 XL maybe 3 or 4 times on gravel and concrete and the case and screen protector did their jobs very well with not a single mark on the phone or display.
Amazon descriptions below.
CASE:
Spigen Rugged Armor Google Pixel 2 XL Case with Resilient Shock Absorption and Carbon Fiber Design for Google Pixel 2 XL (2017) - Black
SCREEN PROTECTOR:
Google Pixel 2 XL Screen Protector (Maximum Coverage)[2-Pack], Skinomi TechSkin Full Coverage Screen Protector for Google Pixel 2 XL Clear HD Anti-Bubble Film
I'm currently using a Spigen case with carbon fibre accents on the top and bottom. It has mostly a matte finish which causes for it to be pretty slippery. Got a new case because of the slippery-ness, and it just came in the mail today.
The new one is just one of the usual transparent rubbery feeling cases, but it has a lot more grip! I noticed it gets a lot of fingerprints but I haven't used it long enough to know if its going to become an issue for me.
As for screen protector, I use a wet apply one that sounds similar to Az Biker's. It's self healing and it sits properly on the edges and actually covers the entire screen!
Couple of downsides though, for one, it doesn't feel like glass (since it's not glass lol) and two, you can see some grain when looking at anything that has a bright/white background.
For me it's still worth it just because in most conditions it's fine and I don't ever worry about it coming up from the edges like most glass protectors do on curved screens.
