Flash fire ain't working phone just reboots with no changes

can i install on retbr?

I think the location version does not matter as long as you have the right build number. I had retla .15 and tried to flash .35 in order to update to .67 (fail), the ota ask for .14/.15. So I had to install stock .15 again and redo the process.
Something I'd like to add is the stock recovery did not recognize internal or sd storage, so I had to push ota via ADB.
*Also my warning bootscreen changed from N/A to Bad Key multiple times for apparently no reason. But everything is working fine.

Pls tell me how u went back to 15 plsss

Exactly what I have been trying to tell. There is a fingerprint mismatch that happens. On a side note how did you manage to take yourself back from .35 to .15 and then update to .67. I get the last part, but downgrading with a higher bootloader; and where did you get the .15 build

You can simply install one of the stock versions already posted here in the forum, I just downloaded the .15 and installed it again via fastboot with the command lines (also explained in that post, in comments) like any other stock rom. Then, after starting the phone you must activate USB debbuging mode to be able to use ADB commands, so you can restart the phone in stock recovery and activate the push ota update via ADB.
Anyway, if this sounds complicated I think there is already a flashable .zip to apply ota, you can give it a try.

Twrp won't have the decryption keys or some of the HTC specific functions required to apply the OTA. You'll need a stock /system and a stock recovery.

Check out my TWRP of a stock no-root ROM (lollipop): https://mega.nz/#F!qsNkyITK!yGJVGKuWOZ_vyndIF8-Z0Q
There are also other files there as well, but remember that if you don't update your firmware you may have issues.

Would this explain the error that I'm getting?
Package expects build fingerprint of htc/tmous/htc_m8:4.4.4/KTU84P/396641.2:user/release-keys or htc/tmous/htc_m8:5.0.1/htc_m8: 5.0.1/LRX22C/464190.4:user/release-keys.; this device has htc/tmous/htc_m8:4.4.3/KTU84L/365360.5/user/release-keys.
I flashed stock recovery, but my phone is still root. Did a full wipe/restore, still getting same thing. The error looks like it's not happy about a missing update perhaps, if I'm reading that correctly. Best I know, I have the latest kitkat version. But, I've had twrp for awhile so maybe I missed an OTA update along the way.

If you're SOFF and supercid just flash the lollipop ruu T-Mobile just release. It doesn't matter what previous rom you're on. Then reflash custom recovery and rooted. I've done this alot of time already.

For me (I am s-on) I did it in this order:
- flashed twrp stock rom
- rebooted and made sure the rom worked
- flashed stock recovery via fastboot
- rebooted and downloaded and installed OTA.
If you are s-off I believe (someone correct me if I am wrong) you can use the RUU instead.
I did have a wifi issue which was solved by a factory wipe ( yes I had to re-install and setup the phone again).

Looking for stock recovery for H3G UK 1.40.771.1 - This seems rarer than unicorn poop

Hey there Liam.
Thanks for the reply.
I've been to that site often, but they don't have the ruu for 1.40.771.1, only 1.32.771.6 and 1.32.771.15; and from what I understand I cant flash a recovery that doesn't match my current SW number.
I'd also be interested to learn how to extract the recovery from an RUU. I tried searching last for instructions, but to no avail.
Cheers.

If you can't find the stock recovery you want, (and you want it so that you can flash an OTA update), you can always extract it from the OTA update zip once the update downloads to your device.
The OTA update will flash with the recovery that comes with the update. For example, say you are on 1.32.771.6 (random number) and you receive an OTA update for upgrading to 1.40.771.1 -- the OTA update will be able to install itself with a 1.32.771.6 stock recovery or with a 1.40.771.1 stock recovery, and the update comes with the 1.40.771.1 recovery.
To extract if from the OTA update zip, all you have to do is open the zip up with the latest version of 7zip, and pull out the recovery.img file.

You should be able to flash the recovery using fastboot. And I don't think you need to lock the bootloader to accept the update. (You need to make sure that you have a stock system partition though...)

Cool cool.
I think I have flashed back to stock recovery.
When I rebooted into recovery after flashing I had a black screen with a red exclamation triangle on it.
Is that correct?

Hmmmmm, OK, I decided to see if the OTA update would take, so began the process.
The phone booted into recovery, the update started, then about 10% into the update the phone went to the red exclamation triangle screen.
The phone eventually rebooted itself and the update hasn't taken, (I'm still on 5.0.2).
BUT I have a working phone, so there's that!
Any thoughts on what may have happened?
Cheers.

The first part of the update is just a bunch of checks to ensure that you are fully stock. Are you sure you are fully stock? Did you have root at any point? Did you mount /system as read/write at any point?

You need to restore a backup of /system from BEFORE you had root. When you got root, you wrote to the system partition, which means it's no longer stock.

I believe the only way to go back to full stock would be to run an ruu then, is that correct?

HK HTC10 Returning to stock rom

Hi there, I'm using Hong Kong version of htc10, i tried to root it but when i flashed supersu and xposed arm64 sdk23, it comes to stuck in the system ui interface showing that: 'System UI has stopped unexpectedly....etc.' Looping in that point. So i tried wipe all data in twrp mode and reboot again, still the same situation. Then I download a TW version of stock IMG which is 1.30.708.1(Original was 1.53.708.4) and flashed it in download mode, after that i rebooted it, everything is normal again. Fresh new welcome screen.
But there are some features that i can't use such as can't receive 4G+ signal, can't receive VoLTE, even could't use battery saving mode ....etc.
So I just want to know where can I find the STOCK IMG for my HK version CID HTC__622, which is 1.53.708.4 or so called RUU for it? Thanks.:crying::crying:

the working link for the download is on the next page.
this is definitely the HK rom as after a wipe the default language is HK Chinese.
only problem is OTA does not work and when trying to manually flash the OTA manually (using TWRP and stock recovery) the check on the OTA zip passes but the system check fails so it looks like system has been modified.

I have the T-Mobile HTC 10. I never converted it to US unlocked or anything. When I got it, I unlocked the bootloader, installed custom recovery (TWRP) rooted it, and slapped on a custom ROM (LeeDroid). I have a nandroid backup of my stock rom. I'm still S-ON.
Now I find out that T-Mobile has FINALLY pushed the firmware update. How I can easily upgrade the firmware on my phone?
What I tried was to backup my leedroid, restore my stock rom, and then take the update. But I got the corrupt file error.
No idea what to do now. I saw someone had a file of the OTA update (downloaded it), but I don't know what to do with that, or even if I can as I have S-ON.
How can I easily get to rocking the new firmware on my T-Mobile HTC 10?
Thanks!!

Thanks, very helpful!
Everything worked great until actually applying the OTA update in recovery. It wouldn't do it, saying the update was for PMEWL devices, and mine is PMEUHL. I definitely tried to use your OTA update file that you posted in another thread. Any idea what this is all about? (Seems WL is a reference to another phone, maybe US unlocked. So perhaps this is the OTA for US unlocked, not T-Mobile US? Or it's really for TMO DE?).

I'm getting the same error unfortunately. I have USA T-mobile HTC 10. Does anyone have a solution for this or are we USA T-mobile folks doomed to wait for an RUU?

Yea I was gonna ask.
It might make a difference being s-on but wondering if u tried to update firmware from the signed firmware?
I was running into issues flashing the Ota but eventually managed to to get it to work. Here's exactly what I did.
Place the Ota file on the root of an SD card.
On your PC, Pull the recovery image from the firmware zip within the t-mobile OTA file and place in the ADB folder.
In twrp, go to Mount, and mount system as read only.
Then, select Restore and go to your untouched system backup. The only two options that should be checked are System IMAGE and Boot.
Reboot to Download
Flash the stock recovery pulled from the OTA.
Reboot to Bootloader, then boot to Recovery
Select install from SD card and select the Ota file.
For me, it did seem to hang at "patching system" or something like that, but be patient. It did complete loading.
Hope this works for you

Changelog: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G79/g0/v77930/f1/full/changelog.xml
The Full Updates you should be able to install from Marshmallow which will bring you to the current release of Nougat on the Nova and the Small Updates you can install from the Nova Nougat build CAN-L11C432B320 and CAN-L01C432B320.
If your device comes up with NRD90M test-keys then for the CAN-L11C432 variant you can try installing this after to get the correct Build number showing and functionality working: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...-L11_hw_eu/update_data_full_CAN-L11_hw_eu.zip and for the CAN-L01C432 variant: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...-L01_hw_eu/update_data_full_CAN-L01_hw_eu.zip.
I have managed to get it to work on the CAN-L01C432 variant but a couple of others have not managed to install the hw eu update for their device which has left them with NRD90M test-keys showing under Build number and themes not working.
I tried to update but it fails at 41%. I'm on CAN-L01C02B130 , Vodafone branded.

These updates are for CAN-L01C432 and CAN-L11C432 variants of the Nova. You can try this if you want to but I am not sure if it will work on a branded device: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G79/g0/v74460/f1/full/update.zip. This is the latest Nougat update I have found for the CAN-L01C02 variant of the Nova.

I had the same problem at first but after flashing this: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B4T1GJ6EZ3LvTWNpZ0p5YXVINGs the Nougat update installed fine. The link is the stock EMUI 5 recovery which is for Nougat which I got of this page: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nova-plus/how-to/c432b320-android-7-0-available-try-t3527084/page7.

It's up to you if you want to try it. You have to flash the recovery by adb first if you do this and then try updating again I see no reason why it should not work.

Unfortunately yes which is why I said it's up to you if you want to try it out. Some guys were lucky with the beta Nougat releases on the Nova which installed easily via the updater app or recovery on the device whereas you, me and others have had a bit more trouble which has required us to do more to update. Where it is a official Huawei recovery you may be able to flash it with adb without issues but I'm not sure. It's your call if you want to try it.
Thanks for the help man, i flashed first the recovery and then the update and all was ok. Very grateful.

Extract this: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...-L01_ti_it/update_data_full_CAN-L01_ti_it.zip and put the UPDATE.APP in a dload folder on the root of your SD Card and install it like the main Nougat update. This should fix it so the Build number shows up correctly and some other functionality issues. Once this is done next to Build Number it should say: CAN-L01C02B307, if it does then everything is working fine.
Hey I have downloaded CAN-l01 version, installed via fastboot (recovery.img, boot.img and system.img) but the updater is still missing from settings and the version number is NRD90M test-keys i'm not able to install the eu pack (update stops at 5%), how can I solve the missing updater?

I never installed mine by fastboot using adb, I extrated the big update then put it in a dload folder and installed using the three button method. I dunno why the hw eu pack is not installing as I had this issue and that installed fine for me.
If you installed this: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G79/g0/v77904/f1/full/update.zip then try installing this using the three button method: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...-L01_hw_eu/update_data_full_CAN-L01_hw_eu.zip and if you have tried that and it did not work then try this: http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...L01_hw_eu/update_data_full_CAN-L01_hw_eu.zip.

I have no idea then. The update worked fine for me using the three button method and all I had to do after was install the hw eu update that matched and it is all working fine. Yes you can install archived updates through custom recovery but I have not tried it with Huawei updates so I dunno what the outcome will be.
Here is a couple of screenshots which show the update working for me.
Flashed the CAN-L11C432B340 full update with the 3-button-method coming from Emui 4.1 (Android 6).
The update was successful up to 100%, but then I got a flash failed error. Phone booted succesful to Emui 5.0 with the NRD90M test-keys bug so in addition i flashed update_data_full_CAN-L11_hw_eu.zip and all seems to be fine except the hotspot functionality.
Does the hotspot feature work for you on B340? I cant enable it and after a while i get a settings force close....
