Help me debload/uninstall all Samsung and AT&T apps and Skins (no disabling!) - Samsung Galaxy S7 Active Questions & Answers

The Samsung S7 Active is currently my choice on the best phone out there but I can not stand all the Samsung and ATT apps and themes/skins they put on the phone is there a way to uninstall or permanently delete them from the phone? I don't want them disabled I want them completely removed off of the phone..... I'd love to have the most vanilla Android possible as doing this will not only speed up the phone but should help with battery life and storage not having them on the phone...
any help would be nice

There is NO root at this time for S7A Nougat. But you can go back to Marshmallow and root it, so you can get rid of that boatware.

I haven't used 7.0 and I don't think I like it yet so I'm still on 6.0 but how would I make android more vanilla? There a Guide for the S7A to root it and permanently delete and uninstall all the Samsung themes/skins and ATT stuff?

A short tip..
U can install special apps which require root access..like titanium backup ..many are there...
Main is..u can install custom roms now..u have took the first step to real android world and u have access to every single thing in ur mobile system file(es explorer..try that (just dont screw up)..
U can install custom kernels..scripts...flash anything...and much more...
Just find my thread and i ll update it as it is still getting created..i have a long road to type Nd from mobile i cant!

With root, you can:
Install Xposed modules and modify almost anything on your phone.
Install Greenify and get a decent battery life on standby.
Install Titanium Backup for easy backup and restore.
Apply @iceyhotguy tweaks for better device performance.
and many more
And if you step up to installing custom ROMs, you can:
Get rids of lags completely (by complete I mean COMPLETE)
Possible to upgrade to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat
Get many customizations previously not possible on Xposed.
FULL control of your phone.
Root basically gives you access to the restricted areas of android and makes you the SuperUser of the phone.
i.e, the name SuperSUp)
rooting is the best thing ever for an android phone! it only makes galaxy grand more awesomer!
3 months back i was also new to rooting....but once once in....i have never looked back.....as said in the earlier posts by our senior members....... u wud get a complete access to your handset and a different thing/activity to indulge in from whatever u are doing now on a daily basis( if not developing...) .to explore new things everyday........android is so versatile.........and we have some very good........i mean to REALLY VERY GUD DEVS here............
just dont screw up anything....read clearly before flashing......
Happy rooting.........
yes even I was new to rooting... I just rooted this phone in October and now I have no plans of ever going back to unrooting! It's a totally satisfying experience and much more if you loves uch technology!

You can also uninstall bloatware like chaton, S apps etc..

Removing Bloatwares
The great advantage of rooting is you can uninstall all the bloatwares which comes with stock samsung rom like, Chaton, S Apps, etc. Even u can uninstall apps like Email (when u have GMail)... The thing is removing those bloatwares helps u to free ypur RAM and Internal storage, and thus increases battery backup.
Root apps
You can try
-LMT Launcher(It's an alternative to PIE control)
-Greenify(Helps you hibernate unused apps)
-Game Killer(Hack games )
-SetCPU(To tweak cpu frequencies)
Rooting also easier for backup your phone
other advantages:
Grant more permission to do things you want to do (if you want to)
Also enable you to have an option on "link2sd or others apps" to enhance your memory (if you want to)

you can use various tweaks like pimp my rom:good:
Rooting benifits
yea do tell :v

[Q] Any way to make a 500-MB RAM android phone faster? Galaxy Ace 4

Hi I just got my first android phone. A Samsung Galaxy Ace 4 with a very low price an spec
turns out that it is super slow and laggy, apps crash constantly, returning to home screen takes 2-5 secs
I've already tweaked it in some ways, like disabling animations, using light laucher, etc. (ART is not available though..)
I'm very new to Android world and I just wanna know if there're any other ways to speed up this phone
maybe custom ROMs or rooting? I can't find either of these for my model. CyanogenMod doesn't support my model and so do the other custom ROMs
It lags badly. Please help :crying:

Do you have model number ?
If phone is very recent you won't find any custom rom yet, so wait a bit.
Without custom rom you can't do a lot... Especially without root.
Try to disable a much apps (stuff like Samsung apps...) as you can, and don't use Touchwizz.
You can't do much more without root or custom rom.

The model number is SM-G313HU
I don't know if they will ever build a custom ROM for my model. Should I do an unsupported way? Please guide me.

Phone is brand new, i think you can't install custom roms easilly. You need to wait and see if devs are insterested in it.
Try to disable a lot of stuff and find a launcher without touchwizz, i have no better advices.

If you can't find guides specific to your phone try some generic tools such as towelroot

New note 4 Owner: Whats next?

Hi all,
Just got my new Note 4. Have not taken any OTA updates so I am on 4.4.4 Android.
Whats next to root, debloat, and install a custom rom? Who's got the best minimalist type rom out right now? From what I've read it doesn't seem like there is much out there for 5.0 - just didn't know what the process was for this earlier version still, and how to make the update nag screen go away, or if there were any distinct advantages/disadvantages to upgrading.
Do you have the retail or developer edition?
Currently the retail edition only has temporary root which goes away after reboot. The devs are currently working on permanent root.
The developer edition has permanent root and has the ability to have custom Roms
I bought a retail version from the Verizon store, I didn't know there were differences actually? This makes me kind of sad now.
No known root method even for the older un OTA updated setup? Thats very unfortunate...
There is is a root method for the 4.4.4 kitkat. It's just temporary at the moment.
Like I mentioned, the developers are working on making it permanent right now.

I feel your pain, my friend. Since we never even received 7.1 we will probably never get 8.0 or 8.1....Samsung is a business that needs to sell new phones. As a consequence, old phones like ours "normally" only get 2 version updates. Ours started with 5.1 was updated to 6.0 and finally to 7.0.

What apps do I lose on root?

I couldn`t find some kind of list of which apps I lose access to if I root the Note 10/10+.
The last android fone i had was in android 4.4, so its been a long time.
I want to root, but it would be nice to know the apps that i can't use if i rooted.
Thanks.
Secure folder, Samsung pay and any app that makes use of knox
Most other apps can be made to work with tweaks

Most important question you should ask , What do i gain by rooting ? ad blocking ? system ui theming ? all of these things can done without rooting but if you are using exynos version you will get most of lost functionality by going custom rom route.

If you want just root + Stock ROM
- Secure folder
- Samsung Pay
- Samsung Pass
- Samsung Health
- Google Pay - There are some workaroun, search XDA
- Many banking and other app but should be fixed with magisk hide
but I believe those app can be run if you reboot to device without root.
From above many things can be fixed with some patch like
- Secure folder can work
- Samsung health can work
- Samsung Pay can be used with Gear watch
only samsung pass won't work but you can use Google's auto fill option instead.
Good to know all these things. I decided to root it when it arrives. Thank you.

Is rooting difficult and is it really worth rooting? Isnt it possible to mess up your phone / void warranty? Seems like a big risk just for a little customization

Yes it is worth rooting in any aspect.
Rooting is not "little customization" rather then deep changes "under the hub" and "risk" is only for those who doesn't know why and what to do with rooted device.
And warranty ?...Really, due to "effective" Samsung "support"...who cares about warranty...
