i have and it seems like its a no go for now

I wouldn't trust it. If Chainfire had any luck, you would find it posted here on XDA somewhere. I worked with him back in the early WP7 days.

Yeah probably for the Exynos variants

This would definitely work... if you had an unlocked bootloader

Has anyone tried to flash it with Odin yet?
The last international beta flashed fine...
I've downloaded it, but I'm just sitting here staring at it, lol.

Wouldn't work for our E4GT, would it? No CDMA overseas correct? Just wondering. I mean, I am open to being the Guinea pig, I think.

Japan has cdma! But don't flash it. It'll Bork nearly everything.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Yes best not flash it. Its barely usable on the gsm gs2 let alone ours lol.

Yep. I read in a similar thread someone flashed it, and now their computer, odin, nothing recognizes their phone. Tough break.

Can't believe some of the stuff people do in here or the things they post... If this was really for our phones why not just wait for a developer to put it all together for you... Haste makes waste...SMDH
I hope someone comes up with a solution for their phones because it was more than 1 person that flashed it...
so, does that mean an official OTA in 2013? haha **troll**

When I was a noob, it wouldn't go near something like this unless I read that 200people have done it succesfully before me. I wouldn't even think of just flashing something unless it was cleary stated it was for my phone and had step by step instructions on what to do and I would confirm about 50x that it was for my phone before actually falshing it.
Now that I am no longer a noob and would like to consider myself a veteran at flashing, I even stay further away from these things. lol

+1 Back in 2009 when I first started modding (a Motorola Razr) I stumbled onto XDA. After getting my wizard 1st, and then my excalibur (t Mo Dash), I made sure I read everything thrice, even 4 times, before flashing. I was a lot more gung-ho back then. After totally bricking my Fender MT3G, I take more caution. I am super ocs now with my E4GT (best device I've ever owned), so I was just kidding about the guinea pig thing, lol.

UNLOCK via .apk

In case you haven't seen this yet...
You have to be rooted with i-9300, might work for our phones too.
http://www.redmondpie.com/sim-unlock-galaxy-s-iii-in-seconds-by-simply-installing-this-apk/
If it works, Hit Thanks...
It says at the bottom of the instructions "Note: Do not install on variations of the S III other than the I9300 model. It will not work."
I believe there are other apk's out there that should work with our version though.
Well dev said this "Note: Do not install on variations of the S III other than the I9300 model. It will not work."
Have nandroid before you try.
Would any of our devs be willing to somehow tweak this .apk file to make it work with our i747 version?

it won't work because the LTE variants don't have the same files needed. this has been covered countless times in this forum already. search. you will either need to buy a code or get it from AT&T (i've gotten two from AT&T already for both our SGS3s)

[Q] Verizon HTC one root?

Saw this posted earlier:
https://twitter.com/TeamAndIRC/status/371047150056009728
Is there any news regarding this? I know with the recent HTCdev lockdown, unlock is not possible, but it sounds like root is easily achievable.
I really only need to root. I don't really use any of the features that unlock would give me. Heck, the only root function I use is Titanium backup. I get free tethering (share everything) and always stick with the stock ROM.
Is anybody actually working toward a root only solution? Or is all the effort directed to a s-off unlock solution?
Same. I want to know as well. This guy seems like if it's such a cakewalk he should do it but as long as someone can figure it out I will be happy

You still want unlock. Changes made to /system while booted in the os do not stick.
Jcase will tweet something when he releases the exploit.

we want bootloader unlock, but S-Off isnt necessary just for root is it?
I think thats what we both mean - we're fine for now with no s-off, we just want root

Bootloader unlock is sufficient for flashing ROMs and rooting. S-Off is kinda superfluous.
That's what I had heard. Well I'm not installing too many applications yet so I won't have to start all over when bootloader unlock comes back around

I spent 30 min setting up my phone only to have it wiped by the bootloader unlock. Then it hit me.
Jcase said it would be "easy" for someone to work around it but he has not offered to do it. If you look he ends up specifically saying he is not going to work on it... I'm sorry my friends with the one... Hopefully someone else will come up with a solution. We had to wait a few times with the DNA so I know how it feels

I honestly think if its THAT much of a cakewalk he should just be able to do it, or to basically hand it to a dev (which he kind of said he did) instead of hinting at all this and doing nothing.
But it's not my place, so hopefully someone DID get the info and will have it unlocked asap
Yeah but better he hint to tip someone off then say nothing at all you know... Plus he like all the rest of us has a life outside of xda and I'm sure he has good reasons... I mean he has already done so much for many devices
Sent from my HTC6435LVW using xda app-developers app
True. I haven't been around for a while so I don't know much about him. But if he passed the info along to someone else it should work out

I thought you couldn't write to /system while booted unless you were S-Off. Has that changed? When the DNA was unlocked we weren't able to do so until Beaups (I think) found a workaround with the kernel.
Also, JCase, in a previous tweet, said his PREVIOUS exploit still worked on the Verizon One. I haven't searched, but maybe it's already been released?
I'm at work so I can't look up the specific tweet for you guys.
He said he already passed the root exploit on

far from superfluous we don't have to flash a damn boot.IMG every time lol. Big time saver.

Not really. S-On and that extra time flashing the boot.img can save you some major headache later. Maybe even a brick.

If you are careful you shouldn't have a problem. But if you flash iffy things then you can easily end up with a brick. That's why most developers stay S-On.
lets worry about bricking once we actually have an unlock method again haha
Looks like the "cakewalk" has turned into some kind of 48 hour "cake endurance race"

Before anyone asks about jcase's new master key exploit..

I do not think it is possible. I have read that the one 4.2.2 and up and the S4 have been patched (aosp source was patched a while ago). Not sure why those motos have not seeing as they are running 4.2.2.... but who knows. If its possible, jcase knows about it so don't bug him. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Where do you find this news?

specifics? I just see him talking about motoX.
I'm only asking because I'm curious, not trying to bug him / you about it. Just wanna read
Pretty sure he tweeted about not using the method on anything besides a Motorola phone.
Well obviously something was a bit easier to get hacked on the Moto phones than the One, but I certainly didnt think the new Moto Line would be rooted that fast either, still cant unlock the bootloader yet right? Ah well, just have to keep waiting
Has anyone said the hell with it and tried it out of curiosity? its reversible via a factory reset it seems if something goes wrong.

Help Finding A Root For The LG G3 Vigor

So, it seems that a few people around XDA have the G3 Vigor, such as myself. But the issue is, none of the root methods currently support this device. That being said, I'd like to know how to go about possibly finding an exploit(if need be) and using it to root this thing. I've searched plenty, but haven't found a good solid place to start. I'm not afraid to Mrs with some code, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
Found the exploit
So, I know where I need to attack to get root access. But I'm still unsure of how to go about doing it. Any ideas?

No root access yet. Been watching the Stump Root method to see if they add this phone and no updates yet. I just got this phone although is a slightly different version of the LG 3, looks like it has a different way to access root. Let's wait and see if anything pops up soon. If you found a way to exploit it, let the dev of the Stump Root method know.
