I just pulled the Pixel Launcher APK from the O Preview DP3 system.img if anybody wants to use it. I uploaded DP2 a couple days ago just to have DP3 come out a day later. So here is DP3. Notification badges don't work in Nougat, so the only major change is the new look for long-press popup.
Also, the clock app has been recolored. I prefer that so I'm uploading that if anybody wants to use it.
UPDATE: As mentioned, here is the camera app. This version doesn't seem to have any improvements as far as performance. It does have ever include a slightly different shutter button and a new button to switch to video.
Also, my attachments are getting too large, so I'm moving them to AFH

Yes, it'll overwrite the old Pixel Launcher. Sorry for the late respso. This will act like an update and just update the current app

I use Textra. The setup came from a basically stalk setup with with the old Google Now Launcher, and I've been too lazy to change it:laugh:

The new Google Calendar apk file is there - I've downloaded and installed it on to my 9192 S4 Mini - looks nice, but then so does the New GMail app as well - apk file got off the net, Probably would be nicer on the Nexus 7 2013 with Lollipop.

Am sure modifying the build.prop would yield access to lens in the camera and music id in the Google Assistant. Just like it was with pixel 1st Gen and the Nexus 6P.
Following, can someone confirm this before I reboot and edit my build.prop? If someone has apk too. I really want the music recognition, probably the only thing I'm hyped about from the release.

That's Google lens. I think both of us mean the Pixel 2 launcher, the one where the Google bar is at the bottom.
I imagine the redesign is actually a new update to the Pixel Launcher that'll probably be available through an update through the Play Store. Probably would get to is quicker by pulling from the Pixel 2 system.img. I could be wrong, but it seems to be something they'll bring to the old Pixels too and therefore not accessible through a build.prop edit
Has Google even announced if the old pixel will get the new launcher and AOD? I know the pixel launcher will probably be an update just but you never know.

Really? I just do the twist motion to switch. That's still available to do luckily for me.
They removed the grid button from the quick toggles but would've been nice if they let you customize it. A portrait mode quick toggle would save me a tap.

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure. I'm pretty confident that you can as its still an official verison.
Come to think about it I'm sure I've also updated an app manually like this and then updated it on its next release (I think I did this with android wear).
I noticed the "subscribe to pushbullet updates" on apk mirror so did that for the Google camera. That way can get the update a little faster

Sure. I did the same thing with the phone apk a while back when it was updated to 16.0. Sometimes it just takes google a little longer to catch up with their own apps ??
So they replaced a really good feature (double tap to zoom) with double tap to switch cameras? I hope it doesn't do that during a recording.
Edit: So I have camera version 5.2 and it's the same as before.
They have improved noise levels in the photos recently, I liked that

I always download APK updates whenever I can just cause I'm impatient. Android Police is quick on getting Google updates post with APK links. And yes, you can get regular updates through the Google Play Store still.
I would actually have liked the double tap to switch cameras with the video recording as I see iPhone Instagram stories doing it. It's cool to film something then show your reaction.

But there's no different APK, just a server side switch when Google decides, unless someone comes up with a way to force enable it.

You can't get rid of it. Just grab a custom launcher. It's funny how people differ in opinion, I can't go without that bar now at the bottom. Use it to search everything and being right there is so convenient.
Keep it fairly simple, using Nova Launcher Prime and Fancy Widgets for the clock/weather.
Just couldn't enjoy the stock Google Launcher.

but since you have a pixel and therefore the squeeze feature, isn't that just as easy to use than clicking on that? Especially with the new assistant being as latency free as it is

Yeah, funny you say that. I didn't even turn that on on my pixel 3xl. And it's off on my 4xl as well. I just can't get into it and I find it easy enough that I just click my google search bar and all my recent items are there to just click and go into. And if I'm searching something differently, I just say hey Google.

I completely understand, brother. To each their own. That's the beauty of Android
Nova prime, folders and some Tasker controls. Using gesture navigation even though it doesn't play completely nice with Nova yet.
