Introduction:
MIUI is a custom android interface developed by Xiaomi for their own range of smartphones. The UI is very fluid and catchy along with brilliant features. I tried to port it many times myself, but failed. And then, someone finally posted this and I'm glad to provide it with you.

Installation Instructions:
I recommend MIUI Recovery for installing MIUI ROM.
- Download MIUI Recovery from here.
- Flash the recovery using Nokia X Flasher. (Or you can use Flashify but it's risky)
- After you are flashed the Recovery, boot into it by pressing Volume + and power key for 15 seconds.
- Goto Backup and create one backup.
- Download latest version of MIUI ROM and G-apps (links provided under Downloads heading in this thread).
- Download Mi-Pop add on if you want it.
- For Nokia XL: Download XL Patch.
- Place the downloaded zips in the root of your SD card.
- Once booted into MIUI Recovery, format system, data, boot and cache.
- Now go back to menu, and choose Install.
- Then choose the ROM zip.
- Flash it. After done flashing, flash the G-Apps zip.
- After done flashing, flash Mi-Pop.
- For Nokia XL: Flash XL Patch.
- Choose Power--> Reboot System.
- Let it boot. It might take a couple of minutes to boot for the first time.
- Choose Engish Language, Enjoy and feel free to donate.

Yes, I'll update it as soon as the update is released.

I'm not able to boot to System, if I flash both ROM and GApps. However, if I flash only the ROM, it boots fine. Am I missing something here?

Install
Use CWM6.
Warning: Only use this recovery to flash CM-12.0. Otherwise, you risk bricking your phone, or you might experience boot and stability issues!
Wipe data and cache.
Format /system (only first time coning from older recovery)
Format /data and /data/media (only first time coning from older recovery)
Flash update*.zip.
Flash gapps*.zip. You must flash gapps after every upgrade to CM12.0 since /system is formatted, wiping your previous add-ons.
Reboot phone.
First boot might take 30-40 minutes, so be patient.
After you setup your Google account, reinstall the three apps from Market in order to restore most of your apps, call log and SMS history.
Warning: Do not restore backup data of system apps!
If you restore a bad backup with cached settings in telephony.db in data/data/com.*.*.telephony it can break MMS.
It seems that restoring backups can also break Calendar sync.
Upgrades
Upgrades from previous versions of CM12.0 are the same process as install, except you do not need to wipe anything. Contrary to popular belief, you do not need to even wipe cache and dalvik-cache when upgrading between CM12.0 versions. You only need to wipe if you are doing a major upgrade, switching to a different ROM entirely, or attempting to fix bugs caused by bad backups or corrupt app data.

one question, I'm okey with no root access or no pre-built file manager installed

FAQ and Trouble Shooting

Clean Installation
1. Download the appropriate ROM using links provide in the second post.
2. Download the appropriate GApps following the links in the second post.
3. Back up any and all important data.
5. WIPE DALVIK/CACHE/DATA/FACTORY RESET.
6. WIPE SYSTEM.
7. Flash the ROM in recovery.
7.1. DO NOT FIX PERMISSIONS AFTER FLASHING, doing so will cause a bootloop.
8. Flash the GApps.
9. WIPE DALVIK/CACHE (for good measure).
10. Reboot Device.
Dirty Flash/Update
1. Download the appropriate ROM using links provide in the second post.
2. WIPE CACHE/DALVIK.
3. Install the zip file from recovery.
3.1. DO NOT FIX PERMISSIONS AFTER FLASHING, doing so will cause a bootloop.
4. WIPE DALVIK/CACHE (for good measure).
5. Reboot Device.

Amazing rom so far, as the 12.1 one was before. Just something to ask: is the feature set the same as the 12.1 temasek set? If so, there are almost all the features included beside the advanced sound settings (such as less frequent notification sound) or the screen settings... Keep it up man, great rom

Almost all features of temasek cm12.1 present. Only a few like trds, floating windows, etc are missing

A good rom for me so far and looking forward to more features. I just got a little question. I mounted my sdcard as external storage, but it seems due to marshmallow its just mounted as "read-only" Does someone of you here know a way how to mount the storage as read and write?

Sorry for not posting any updates.. The problem is that someone broke the Temasek source code, and compiling gives an error. On top of that, I also have exams. So next update will be coming this weekend, if the source gets fixed.
And also, the OP has been completely revamped

Hi Vidhanth, how did you find that the source code is broken? I am trying to decipher if cm-12.1 is also broken and when it will be fixed if that is the case.

Well, I was getting an error while compiling, related to a ring.c file (or some .c file like that) I tried a resync and recompile, but that didn't fix it. So it was obvious that its the source that's broken. But still, I asked a few devs in this community, and that's what all of them said. I also PM'ed temasek himself regarding this, and he said he's on an overseas holiday, and he knows that the source has been broken by someone. So he'll fix it when he returns

Looks like temasek is fixing or has fixed the source. I'll do a build today, when I get back from school

Guys I'm sorry that I didnt do a build. I made a really silly mistake. A typo. While syncing, it was giving me some errors. So I wanted to run this-
rm -rf .repo/repo
(delete the repo directory inside .repo)
but I ran this by mistake-
rm -rf .repo
Well, that deleted the whole .repo folder, which was around 10 GB. Now its syncing again, at 2kbps lol. (Stupid FUP's)

You have changed vendor, or modified vendor(not stock), OpenKirin vendor will never ever work,, so get Pure stock vendor of your device... it will work for sure... if still not, change you data filesystem...
2.) What to do if my SIMs are not working ??
Go to Extras, disable dual sim, reboot phone,, now read carefully,,
1. Install hex editor app from playstore
2. Make sure you have file explorer with root privileges
3. Open hex editor and find modem,id file on this location root/sys/firmware/devicetree/base/hisi,modem_id and open it.
4. Write down all numbers in first row
5. Then go to root/system/vendor and find phone.prop and open it with text editor.
6. Find your modem id by using search and type 0x3xxxxxx where X is your number from hex reader
7. Then make it look like this:

I doubt it as upstream LTS is at 4.1.49 - on the other hand, the Cortex-A53-cores which are used in the Kirin 658 shouldn't be affected by the Vulnerability of Speculative Processors to Cache Timing Side-Channel Mechanism....

The kernel is EliteKernelReborn integrated in it... U can read its properties and features on Elite Kernel Reborn thread for P9 Lite....

just wanted to know as you say that kernel is a must for the ROM so i wanted to be sure its in the ROM zip and not bricking, boot looping whatever)
what i forgot does this ROM have a custom music app/equalizer?
was looking for lineage maybe then saw your work here as the stock music player/sound quality is the worst i ever heard on a device, even with playstore equalizer the p10 lite out of the box stock sounds terrible music so i hoped for a good custom ROM to enjoy music )

I have a bootloop. I flashed stock before, using firmware finder. I changed data filesystem to ext4 but still bootloop.

log of installation ?? if it keep booting nd never goes to screen, get me a adb logcat, and if its rebooing, when it reboots, dont let it boot again, go to twrp, navigate to file manager, sys/fs/pstore/console-rampoons send me this file... thnx

Sorry, there is no file in sys/fs/pstore

Can u provide ur kernel for stock emui 5.1 ? And u can change the icons to original nougat style because gallery and some apps uses android 4.4 kitkat icons

go in p9lite section nd elite is top downloaded and viewed rom.. and u dont need to root again or etc...

Magisk can be used too. Just install the Magisk Manager and flash, after delete SuperSU
Substratum and StockRom? Don't know, never used with Stock

How to install magisk? After flashing magisk, it says restore stock boot image! I also tried full unroot in SuperSU & clicked "yes" when the SuperSU prompt to restore stock boot image. But the uninstallation failed! Help me please!
Edit : Fixed ! Flashed the boot.img file in twrp & switched to magisk !

SuperSU is mentioned in the opening post as the root manager. Looks like another user has managed to switch to magisk: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77257751&postcount=8

In addition, the boot.img can be unzipped from here, 25.93-14-18 https://sourceforge.net/projects/stock-rom/?. For tv to work, variant of Brazil, you must install the version ElementalX-G4-2.01.

Steps -
1. Make Full Unroot from SuperSu. (Click "no" when prompt to restore boot img)
2. Now reboot your phone to recovery mode & flash the boot.img file.
3. Flash Vegito Kernel or ElementalX Kernel.
4. Flash magisk.
5. Reboot system. Done !
