I need some one to test the bot.img for regular XA1. I can't test it since I don't have the device. It doesn't hurt as long you only boot no flash.
Fastboot boot boot.img
If it boots and everything is working then you can flash the boot.img and then the recovery.img to avoid the boot loops or reboot loops.
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
If it doesn't boot. I will compile a kernel for the regular XA1. I need to upload the source before uploading the kernel.

i will await your kernel for the regular XA1. i'm yet to find a way to backup the TA partition

I am not sure it is gonna work due to ramdisk. But as I said it doesn't hurt by only boot from it.

Thank you for working on this. I have an XA1 and I'm desperate to mod it.
Unfortunately I'm not in a position to try it myself yet. I've changed my job and I've lost access to my old work PC. That had all the right drivers on it.
I might be able to install them on the new work computer but I need to check how easily the IT department will spot it first!
Sent from my Sony Xperia XA1 using XDA Labs

I am not sure the kernel/boot.img and recovery.img gonna work for XA1, But try it. Since they are very similar to each other. Download the latest Supersu and flash it to achieve root. Don't forget my beer, thanks. ENJOY

Please try it out and report me back. Thank

Then I flashed fastboot flash boot boot.img but get into boot-looping
I haven't tested the recovery but I will try it soon
Still have many thanks! If you need a tester I'll always be here.

Since the kernel code is similar among they, you can have a try to boot with this.
Use fastboot boot boot.img to test(it will not harm your phone) if everything ok ,
Flash it into your phone with fastboot flash boot boot.img.(perhaps cause boot-looping)
Still be sure you can repair your phone from boot-looping and test with it!

I mentioned many times not to flash the boot image. Only boot with fastboot boot boot.img
Incase of boot looping, please send me your kernel.elf and fotakernel.elf ..
I will build a "stochesh" boot.img for you. PM me the links of your kernel and fotakernel and remember to write which model.

Sure man take your time... Also if you get the time could you also port your Z ROM's to ZL like the Xperia Z Revolution.... Thanks again
Can I use this to get root on my C6502 with build number 10.1.A.1.434?
Oh man! I am so fu**ed!!
I unlocked my bootloader and proceeded to download this kernel and flash it. It so happens that just 1.6MB of it got downloaded and I flashed it by mistake. After which I disconnected the cable and pressed the power button. The device gave one short vibrate and thats it!
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IT CAN BE REVIVED!! I am new to Xperia devices and have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what to do now :crying:
EDIT1: Alright, so I pressed and held down the small button underneath the buttflap for about 10 seconds and connected my phone to the PC in fastboot mode. If I just redownload the advanced stock kernel and flash it, would it work?
Also, does anyone have a mirror to the said kernel? The link in the OP seems to be glitchy
EDIT2: FIXED!! Just redownloaded the advkernel with recovery, rechecked hash and flahed in fastboot. phew!!

[D53XX][SS][DS] CWM-Based Recovery 6.0.4.6 + ROOT for Xperia T2 Ultra [20140318]

This is a CWM-Based Recovery 6.0.4.6 Touch Recovery for Xperia T2 Ultra!
Credits and special thanks to Koush and everyone else involved in Cyanogenmod project!
[ info ]
This Recovery is built from CWM 6.0.4.6 sources!
I dont have this device with me and I dont intend to buy one... a friend wanted root on his phone so I created this to help him out...
all the testing was done remotely on users devices...
@mods
I know that there is no device specific forum for this so I have posted thread here in Z2 general section... please move it to the device sub-forum once its created...
P.S: I know that some people think that its no big deal to have recovery/root on unlocked bootloader, and I do agree with that upto certain extent... but now that you have recovery/root you can do a LOT more... just unlocking bootloader wont give you anything!!! devs need to lay the foundations for further development... i have seen so many devices with unlockable bootloader and without root/recovery, but no one bothered to create recovery/root for those users...

[ how to root ]
once you have flashed the kernel from the 1st post
download the latest SuperSU update.zip from: http://download.chainfire.eu/supersu
save it on sdcard of device
reboot into recovery
flash the supersu update.zip
reboot from recovery into OS
you should now get proper root access!
[ installing busybox ]
it is highly recommended to install busybox after rooting!
just go to andorid play store and download the busybox installer.
once the installer is downloaded, install busybox in /system/xbin
reboot device after install and thats it!

Till now ! I don't face any error currently testing now
Very Nice!
Successfully Rooted sony xperia T2 ultra dual xm50h but not luck to install google apps (the phones from china dosent contain google apps)
OK for dual, but NG for single
That's great on dual sim phone.
But failed on single sim phone, after flashing the boot.img the phone can not start.
is it related to different software?

[ WARNING ]
FOR NOW WE DONT HAVE ROOT ON LOCKED BOOTLOADER!!! IF YOU WANT TO PRESERVE YOUR TA DATA/DRM KEYS THEN DO NOT UNLOCK BOOTLOADER!!!!
for flashing this kernel you WILL NEED TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER! Check this thread for more info (same steps as Xperia Z1 are used for Xperia Z3)
UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER WITHOUT TA BACKUP WILL LEAD TO IRREVERSIBLE LOSS OF DRM KEYS!!!
Sony has changed their bootloader unlock policy:
Certain pre-loaded content on your device may also be inaccessible due to the removal of DRM security keys. For high-end devices running recent software versions, for instance Xperia Z3, the removal of DRM security keys may affect advanced camera functionality. For example, noise reduction algorithms might be removed, and performance when taking photos in low-light conditions might be affected. The secure user data partition may also become inaccessible, and you will not be able to get any more official software upgrades if you unlock the boot loader.

Awesome job!
However, Im trying to port CM to the Z3 and I need some information as I dont have the Z3 yet. Could someone put their Z3 in clockwork recovery and give me the output from the following commands?
Code:
cat /proc/partitions
Code:
cat /tmp/recovery.log
or alternatively /cache/recovery.log or /tmp/recovery.log.
Would be much appreciated! Thanks
Hi there,
i went from Samsung to Xperia, and got some questions about root.
Whats the disadvantages if i unlock the bootloader? I know warranty will be gone, is there something else i need to know?
Is there a way to relock it again?
Can we expect root im future without unlocking the bootloader?
Is root without unlocking bootloader even possible on other devices like Xperia Z2..?
Sorry for my bad english [emoji15]

2. Flash the latest STOCK firmware for your device, in order to get a
bootloader bugfix for unlocked A/B
3. Before flashing this ROM through your favorite recovery environment,
you *HAVE TO* flash the latest Sony Open Devices binaries for
your device through fastboot. They cannot be distributed in this
zip package because you have to accept their EULA.
** Make sure you flash the Sony ODM image to both slots:
fastboot flash oem_a SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_(blahblah)
fastboot flash oem_b SW_binaries_for_Xperia_Android_(blahblah)
P.S.: If you get signature verification errors on TWRP, remember to
disable package signature verification in the TWRP settings!!!

Hey there ! On the previous -beta ish- builds, you have to decompile the zip and all to get the bootimage to flash the zip
Starting monday, I'll distribute a bootimage where you can go to aosp recovery, and flash the rom via sideload.

Thank you! I am using Pixel ROM for my OP5, after trying all possible ROMS (there's many) and all possible kernels (there's many) and all possible cameras (there's many), and I can say that its simplicity and smoothness and speed are second to none! My battery drain when idle is 0.12% etc. etc. Let's hope that something similar is cooked for us here!
My XZ2C (H8314) is running android 9, it is rooted but without TWRP, since one has not been available for this phone, debloated, and running without the slightest problem. But, I would try the Pixel! (if you make it available also for the XZ2C).

Hey !
Well you have many ROMs available for your OP5 because people is using the same base for builds and it's very easy.
On sod we have an OSS tree.
Which gets constant upgrades and changes, this means that I'll build more than once a month.
Also there's special stuff to do, I'll write them on Monday when the needed oem release come out.
The advantage of this tree is that you can build any ROM pretty much very easily with minimal differences, just like other devices and it's with this process that I decided to settle for PE and maintain it
It happened for the second time for the phone to charge normally without being disconnected regularly. I took logs this time maybe it's helpful to you.

Hi !
Thanks for the report, although, if you're using a Quick Charge 1/2/3 charger, it's normal because the charger tries to ramp up the voltage but the device refuses because those chargers aren't supported and it may damage your battery.
I recommend you using a standard 5V1A/1.5A charger or a USB Power Delivery charger.
Cheers !
It's working. But I also have a trouble with a wireless charger. It just didn't charge. Phone says "Pluged, didn't charging". I'm using Sony official qc charger and mi wireless charger pad. Type c in is broken.
Charging working when phone is completely off or just boot up placed on wireless charger pad. But when charging pad disabled - charge stop and didn't work till reboot (it may work, but very-very rare, after many enable/disable wireless pad).
Also, sometimes image didn't smooth and kinda laggy. On stock it was normal.
Offtop: google pay also broken on PE. Magisk hide and props didn't working.
Added: Seems, google pay start working, but battery dissappearing before our eyes. Audio also Is interrupting on YouTube when screen is off.

You have to unzip the payload.bin and get the various .img files that you will then flash through fastboot following the steps of any other android 10 aosp rom. Keep in mind that you'll have to flash the 17th of jenuary's oem files as the most recent ones do not work with this rom and you will end stucked in the sony logo
sorry a question; now we have a working twrp for android 10 tell me if these steps to install this rom are fine:
1)flash latest stock firmware
2)install twrp (SODP or STOCK version?)
3)with fastboot flash newest oem binary for our phone on slot a and b
4)reboot to twrp and flash the pixel experience zip without any wipe
5)reboot
ok?
