RAW photos on the Mi 6? - Xiaomi Mi 6 Questions & Answers

Has anyone got RAW file output working yet? Perhaps with a custom ROM if necessary?
I don't own the device, but thinking of buying, and RAW (.dng) photos would be the last push over the edge for me to buy it.
I'm currently using a OnePlus One, with Camera FV-5 app for RAW photos.
Not impressed with the announced price of the OP5, particularly when I can get the very similar specced Mi 6 for over £100 less.

RAW capturing in Android requires Camera2 API. That's not available in the official Global (8.2.2.0) ROM.
Xiaomi.eu rom should have it though, or at least so they write in the second post of their 7.6.8/10 weekly release (can't post links), and it just might be possible to enable it in the global ROM too, provided you have root.

OxygenOS Camera Vs ......

Hello friends, I really like the stock camera and that's why I do not detach from the beta versions to another ROM (Although I really like RR), for the camera, I like, but ... read it that the google camera gives better results than the stock, if we consider it a post of "VS" which camera do you prefer? (I do not mean other devices, I mean the app).
Thank you for your time and have a great end of the year and a happy new year
it's pretty well documented that the OxygenOS camera on the OxygenOS ROM is the best performing camera on the OnePlus 3 due to the closed-source optimizations that OnePlus has done for this device.

Camera2 API?

Anyone know what level implementation it has for each of the back cameras?
Hoping it has has Full or Level 3 support, especially for the wide angle (and not Limited or Legacy - like on the Zenfone 5Z).
I am about to receive my Axon 9 Pro in a couple of days. I could check. However, I dont know how, could you provide details? I am likely going to root.

oppo F11?

Hi! Any plans on adding Oppo F11 to the list of supported devices? I know it's very recent and that Oppo isn't very generous with giving access to bootloaders, but there are so many things that are impossible to use with ColorOS that it's becoming frustrating to use the phone. Example? It (supposedly) has a 48MP camera but it's impossible to take a photo in RAW format! Let's crack open that stupid phone and use its full potential! ...please?

6T selfie camera software on 7T ... is there a way?

Hi guys,
I recently got the 7T after my 6T go stolen (and it is no longer available for purchase.)
I'm not too happy with the corners of the selfie camera in the 7T- corners makes everything WIDE - and even the image correction software is not as good as 6T's selfie software.
Is there a way to get the APK for the camera software used in the 6T? Would appreciate any help on this.
You can use Gcam by Urnyx05
I think don't go for GCam as it produces over-sharpened images front camera and ruins the selfie experience (even not produces natural selfies). So I'll suggest get the OnePlus 6T stock apps (search google for it) and clone it by any cloning app (app cloner is better option) and install it on you OnePlus 7T.

Hardware upgrade Mi 10T to Mi 10T pro

Hi Everyone
Considering that the only difference between the devices is the camera, I own a Mi 10t, and the stabilization is very bad. Do you think it is possible to do this hardware upgrade by buying the sensor of the mi10 t pro?

You would be better off selling your 10T and upgrading then.
You would run into a lot of issues because the 108mp sensor firstly won't fit the 10T and then there are multiple issues because of this, also the software,
There is no software for such a hybrid device
I went for the Pro version personally and it's great,no issues.
I've watched and compared some teardowns of Mi10T and Mi10TPro and the camera modules are 100% identical (the 64mp camera has some plastic around it to be the same size as the 108mp sensor). Also, they share the exact same software. A camera swap should be possible. Just replace the whole camera module + the camera lenses.

Did you try to change the module? Did it work? Do you need to change the firmware?

Hi, if you are still looking to do this, I have tried this with mixed results. The ois works, but the camera is capped at 64 mp. The software only allows you to select 64mp in pro mode. I am wondering if I can get my hands on the 10t pro app or firmware. Will keep you posted.
I saw a pro module for 10$, so no-brainer for me just for the ois. Hopefully someone will find what to change to get all 108mpx, firmware is the same for nonpro+pro, so there is only some switch inside?
I have fw 12.5.12. (global)
I did put pro camera module inside (easy just remove rear cover and few screws).
Photos in 64mpx mode are now 108mpx (picture 3).
When you take a picture you have white bar at the bottom (picture 2), it is only in preview of regular photo mode, video/night/64mpx are ok. Photo is saved fine, no white bar.
You can zoom-in in playback more than with 64mpx, it will tell you it is 108 and show a square of zoom section in bottom right.
On picture 4 is 64mpx at 600% on left, 64mpx at 100% in the middle, and 108mpx at 600% on the right, you can compare details.
OIS is not working in photo nor video, that was why I decided to do an upgrade, I am sad now.
It should work since the rom package is the same.... did you tried to clean flash rom? (were you using global or chine/xiaomi.eu?)
I am using global, now it offered update to 13.0.2.0, but no change, I will try to update to latest MIUI 13 22.4.6
so after clean upgrade to MIUI 13 22.4.13 everything is the same, line in camera app, ois not working

I had the same results, i had posted about it but not in detail. Any luck so far? I think there might be some hardware difference built in that is preventing ois to work, even if the rom is same and everything. but I might be wrong.

not a custom rom yet, no. I know little about roms. I could not find any stock rom exclusive to 10t pro either. I can try with a custom rom and update you. Any recommendation for custom rom?
Has anyone else tried? , I have both cameras and I want to install the 108 mp to the motherboard that has the 64 mp
