I have received the update and installed it too! Everything seems buttery smooth and faster than before! Install it now! :good:

Note: I do not know how to extract OTA file from the update, so hope someone could be able to help in sharing the OTA zip file with us.

Seems you are using VPN to receive the update. Which VPN are you using? What is your / the VPN location?

Which screen protector You use? Looks good, any specs or link? I'm in Germany, still no update for eu version.

Seems like only the Motorola employees are getting the update. above photos are familiar to me. Seen somewhere in Facebook page of Moto.

Hi, I am not using VPN. Just using Adguard. I need to turn on the VPN to activate Adguard adblocking. Cheers!

What network are you on?

The most important question, were you guys able to keep root, or install root after updating to Nougat? Thanks!

Yeah, with unlocked bootloader it's easy, just flash a zip in TWRP

Thank you Lonixlon, have you personally updated your X Force while having TWRP? I had a problem with installing OTA security patch as phone booted directly to TWRP. Do you know any workaround for that?

can anyone help this guy to share OTA file?

My idea, maybe stupid and wrong - Update arrives depending on the CID of the phone.
The version of the system says "retapac", which stands for "Retail Asia Pacific" - a retail version of the phone for Asia and the Pacific.
But I do not understand what is written in "On the phone" before upgrading to NUGA. Take on incomprehensible things, mismatches, in the version of Android, the Baseband version, the system version and the build number. In the build number is very old version of the system mpks24.78-8-12, in the version of the system is the latest version of the system with the upgrade to 6.0.1, but here the old version 6.0 and the old modem.
I have a lot of questions without answers ...

Well, may I express my opinion here too. I have an XT1581 Kinzie from China, it came with Lollipop 5.1.1. Workling perfect.
I go and update it to MM 6.0 using a Mexican or LKatin America rom, I keep the modem for the baseband from the Lollipop 5.1.1 Chinese rom, everything works almost better than before, not a single issue.
Now,m I tried to update it to Nougat 7 following the Google+ guide, a nightmare, although an enjoyable one!
First, I have only one sim working, no wif. Try anoth system, now I have two sims OK but still no wifi.
At the end, after many trials, I went back to my old MM 6.0 LAt rom, backed using TWRP, and the system is back to normal with everything working OK.
Did you ask me if I'm going to change? Nope, I'm happy the way things are, unless an official Nougat 7 ir 7.1.1 rom comes by, not loosing other time.
I agreemthere is a lot of confusion between the various roms and regions.

This news about the update and the video is very similar to the fake... Just why from such an ordinary case as an update do such a stupid circus?

not yet arrived in Indian version XT1580

neither for reteu.retfr

I have moto x play, is that mean android nougat not so far from us...??

Yes it's possible but we need to flash on top our (tmobile) kernel.
I also can't find our tmobile frimeware tar (for odin in case of bootloop)
Damn....booooooring
Hmm I'm downloading the TMO firmware from SamsungUpdate to start, but it's gonna take another 6 hours because of their metered connection -_-.
We'll see how that works out, but ideally I'd be 100% debloated and rooted with Samsung Pay working.
Don't think that'll be possible, but at least we're dealing with unlocked bootloader devices haha

hello
any lucks for the SM-G928C ?
My edge plus is already on 5.1.1 - why the desire to download the same version of firmware from another country? Maybe I'm missing something...
That's not new
Guys, the phone is running great!
Updating for the sake of updating isn't always a good thing when out of the box it's actually working well!
When a device has problems there are threads everywhere of complaints. When a device works things are quiet usually with just the usual how to question. Of course everyone wants root, when it comes it comes. Be patient!

I do not believe you have to do anything.
While yes, both are version 5.1.1, if you look at the last 4 digits of your firmware build number you should see AOGD. The new firmware build number ends in AOH2, showing this is a newer build date. Nothing major, probably just a few under the hood changes, which usually means a liitle better performance.

what about the root-ability?
If you are rooted on an older firmware, and you flash a stock rom via Odin you will lose your root access. So long as your phone model can be/is rooted on your current firmware, after you flash the newer firmware just follow the same steps to root your phone again.

Wear OS 2.10

Hi Guys
Today my Huawei watch 1 has got Wear OS 2.10 update ( previously android wear ). i installed on watch and my version now 2.10.0.188.
i guess its just a re branding name and nothing new as watch is still on Oct 05 Security patch level.
any ideas ?
It's because android wear designation it's dead. Now it's wear os.
Enviado do meu VKY-L09 através do Tapatalk
The security patch isn't going to be updated unless there is a firmware update, and there likely never will be. A Wear OS app update will never do this.
Uhhhggg. I really wish Google would have given the watch OS and the companion app different names. There's so much confusion around this.
What's your current phone's Google Play Services version? still sitting on 2.9.x here on my Oreo Stock Pixel
Is this actually going to change anything?

I just got my old watch replaced after a year, haven't been keeping up to date
Can somebody update me with the changes? I just read that Negamann ceased development of his ROMs because he got his watch replaced with a 2.0
Is there anything stopping me from installing his old HW+ Kernel and his ROMs?
Is there a specific order I need to flash kernel and ROM? (Kernel first, then ROM? ROM first, then kernel?)
If I want to return to stock, and I'm running custom kernel, do I have to replace kernel with stock before restoring ROM?
Thanks!

Moto Z2 Force Xt1789-06 UK Vodafone Oreo update?

Got a good deal on a moto z2 force (with 3 moto mod accessories, so had to snap it up) - From Vodafone UK
Question about Oreo updates on this phone. Does not exist yet as I believe it is down to the carrier and networks to finalise, test and release, hence the delays.
I am aware that there are quite a few oreo firmware for retail models. (Although none exist yet for XT1789-06?) I have already unlocked the bootloader and I wanted to update to the recent ones. What I am worried about is the IMEI baseband. Anyone had success with this specific model (06)?
There's root, su ,magisk and xposed on this thread thanks to enetec.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2...w-to-safely-blunlock-twrp-root-t3704596/page1
Have not seen any oreo related updates, I did read on another thread that the t-mobile Oreo update was pulled because it was having issues with calls I think so maybe our version they are having the same issues. Have not even found a flash all file for our device so one a bit hesitant about even trying any other Rom.
Official bootable and flashable twrp works on nougat. Sprint wasn't on Oreo until late Feb z so I have used the first iteration on my phone before the Oreo OTA. It will have decryption support which is advised compared to encryption not working. That's a huge security risk. I'd suggest using official twrp and magisk if you want root. That way you keep encryption.

Hi there updated mine to Oreo with the file in this link https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/nash/official/RETAIL just follow the instructions in the link In post 2 on this thread, I'm pretty sure you can skip the unlocking bootloader (unless you want root as I do)
No, the above is no good for my carrier/phone (Vodaphone UK) Results in wifi and modem not working. Also 3 sparse files are missing. Used a US based USC Oreo rom and works perfectly now however

I had the the wifi problem when i flashed twrp (but still had network), then flashed the rom in my last post I am also on the uk vodafone model. could you post a link to the rom you flashed please.
It was this one https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=962187416754473797
It did give error in regards to the bootloader writing (and timed out - so did not overwrite bootloader) - I already have bootloader unlocked and was on Nougat when I recieved the phone. After updating to oreo, however with the exception of the carrier logo during boot, I have found no issues whatsoever with this rom on a Vodafone XT1789-06 UK model device. I also uninstalled or disabled US based applications / carrier bloat.
Everything works fine (Moto mods, Wifi, network, camera, 3d acceleration) etc
(Note, ignore the fact that the download is from the MotoZ2 play folder, there was no new directory for Z2 Force according to the uploader)
Cheers for the link already had this file downloaded but didn't flash it as I noticed it was a us Version. there was a update at 19:30 on the link I posted but have not flashed it yet, no bloatware on this rom just plain stock and all mods work will flash the update sometime over the weekend and let you know how it goes.
I tried the newer version recently and same issue (no wifi or modem), so reverted back to USC version
Hello guys i also have the z2 force on UK Vodafone and looking for a 8.0 update. Did you guys find one that completely works? i dont want to unlock the bootloader or root (stops my bank app).
Any news on this please?

Unlocking bootloader doesn't stop Banking apps but root will, I have an unlocked bootloader and on the xt1789-06 Vodafone UK running stock ROM from the link I posted above got both nationwide and Barclays apps and both run fine if you flash the first n version it will do all the seamless updates, it just seems Vodafone are a bit slow at pushing them.

Customized CH did, indeed.
Silly question : Would an update, like this one, need to update with previous versions first before upgrading to this one ? I'm asking this because here in the UK, I'm still with the Customized UK 47.1.A.16.20. And I've never had any Pie update available displayed on my phone.
Several versions have been dispatched to other zones in the world, including several for different UK providers but then hang in the middle of the roll out. Plus in the Support > Software section of my G8441, it says in the "Next Android version" sub section : "No new Android version planned yet".
It looks weird, isn't? Not to mention after Sony started to roll out their very first Pie firmware for the G8441, my Xperia Companion said a new Software version was available, with no description, no firmware version number, and when trying to download it, Xperia companion crashed and needed to restart. Few hours later, when opening it again, the 'New Software' notification disappeared. Since then my phone displays "No new Android version planned yet".
Is this related ?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the half off-topic...
I too have the customized UK phone, and nothing here either
Does someone know which .sin files to exclude if I want to install the new firmware (I already have Pie) with newflasher but want to keep my existing settings, apps and data?
I know that persist*.sin should be excluded to avoid losing android assets keys and userdata*.sin also I guess by the name. Anything else?
I have an unlocked bootloader with DRM keys backed up and restored with Customized CH 47.2.A.2.33 installed. I also have flashed the secd patch so the phone offers OTA update, but I know it won't work with the bootloader unlocked.
Came OTA in Switzerland. Update worked like a charm and I don't see any changes except for December security patch.

Updates don't work like that. If you have the CH ROM, you'll get the OTA for that. If you have UK rom, you'll get the UK rom update regadless of the place you are in.
You can manually flash a different rom customization (uk, ch, nordic etc) and then het updates for that one. I don't know if there are some disadvantages doing that though, as some customizations might have specifoc stuff for some countries / carriers.

I do have CH. I flashed CH manually a long time ago, as I was not getting any updates (missed several months) on my DE. I have gotten many regular OTAs since and did a few resets. But I did not get any of the Pie versions. I thought maybe it is actual location...
I'm in the UK boat, I've been a Sony user since the Xperia arc and I've certainly had some long waits for software updates but I can't remember seeing so many versions released without the UK sim free getting any of them. Can't see my next phone being Sony now.

From what I am deducting all around the web (Sony forums, XDA, 4pda) just keep Oreo and don't bother seeing the number 9 instead of the 8 in the about section of your phone.
I had the OTA update notification for a few weeks, neved installed and eventually it disappeared because Sony has shut down the updates as of Pie bugs reported in their forums.
I am still on latest Oreo and I am going to keep it until I see a totally polished Pie, and it will take months!
Apart from slowmo 960fps in FullHD I truly do not see any reason to update, because the cons are more than pros.
Sure, security patches will be up to date, but does anyone feel the difference having a few month outdated patches? The security is in the hands of the user.
Sent from my XZ1 Compact using XDA Labs

I just remove all. . Ta files and IF you want to keep like it was dont Flash userdata or appslog..

They are in the early days for Android 9 Pie. And Sony is one of the first companies to release pie updates. It's buggy, which is the usual after updating to a new major android version. The previous version 47.2.A.2.33 was not even completely rolled out before this current version started rolling out. I'm sure the usual rollout schedule will continue as the software matures.

Android 11 released for G Stylus -- anyone got it?

I saw yesterday on various tech boards that the G Stylus (Pro) has started receiving the official Android 11/R updates, with the first ones appearing on January 30th or so. Saw many screenshots of the update screens and read a few user reports/reviews.
It appeared that many of the reports are coming out of the UK and Europe. Has anyone here received the update or notification yet? I'm running RR 8.6.4, so I won't get the notification. However, if its being pushed out already --- I might revert to the 10 stock rom and give it a go.
Also, I'm guessing the factory unlocked and unbranded phones are more likely to get the push than the retail branded variants, correct? If you have received the 11 build, what variant/carrier do you have?
I'm running the factory unlocked variant, with verizon as my carrier (doesn't matter lol. just throwing it out there).
I recently got an update. Finally installing it. QPR30.80-58-8-3-2-4. It's not android 11, just an update. Why update if there is a whole new version of software. Seems like a waste of time. Which makes me think 11 isn't coming anytime soon.
I made a .bat to flash the g pro 11 update on my metro stylus. Running pretty smooth. Stylus options are updated as well. I dont know about the service since I dont have metro anymore and its locked to them. If anyone has an unlocked bootloader and wants it let me know.
No Android 11 update here yet, US Unlocked. Hoping they unlock the wide angle lens for photos, among other things.
I downloaded the UK Android 11 update. I used a batch file to flash the update via fastboot without wiping data. I have an unlocked bootloader and I am on Verizon. Everything seems to be working, text, phone calls, LTE.
Thanks for the heads up. Hope to get the OTA sooner rather than later.
Hello.
I have G Pro (XT2043-7) which is the retail European (reteu) version.
There was never December update here (Serbia), but today I got notified that Android 11 and January security patch are up.
Android 11 should really be called 10.1... Anyway...
Negative
1) I noticed new Peek Display – now it's the same as on G9 models which personally I don't like (a bit of ugly).
I want Moto signature circle back :/.
2) In Developer options, they removed Theming (it was the last setting). Just why? Motorola's Android 10 phones got
Theming in Moto app, and yet it was never an option for G Pro unless you enable Dev. mode and it worked.
Now is removed or I can't find it anywhere.
EDIT
In Display, they added Styles so there you go. Why is not that a part of Moto app? Who knows...
Positive
1) Phone is smoother and launcher lag with folders is mostly fixed.
2) Gesture navigation finally works with any launcher. I personally use Shade Launcher.

i have an unlocked bootloader stylus with metro and would give it a shot, still has service also... (edit) never mind made my own with the RETGB firmware from lolinet. had no issues as of yet.
I'm in the US and I just got the android 11 update last night.
I don't like it On the recents screen, they replaced the bottom row of homescreen with a screenshot button. I barely ever take screenshots, but I used that row of apps constantly.
I was excited for conversation bubbles, but the two apps I heavily use for texting/messaging; discord and Google voice, don't support bubbles (yet...hopefully).
Im thinking about installing a custom rom. The only reason I didn't yet was to get this update OTA.
Just installed it in an unlocked version and now get a VZW popup when trying to turn on hotspot
I just tested my Hotspot. It's still working with no pop-up. Of course, I'm using US Mobile, not Verizon.
I've been running 11 on a retail US model for a day or so & the stock launcher is super laggy.
I got 11 just yesterday.
Just received Android 11 OTA RPR31.Q1-56-9. Was also able to download stock ROM from LMSA:
SOFIAP_RETAIL_RPR31.Q1_56_9_subsidy_DEFAULT_regulatory_DEFAULT_CFC_R4_CFC.xml
Now I'll have the corresponding boot.img and good to go with unrooting and installation of OTA
Anyone find a version of TWRP that works with it (XT2043-4)?
I have received the update. After I have tried installing ROMs with no success. I may have to update the device tree and give it a go at making updated roms
