Are there any differences between the jdi display and lg display? - Xiaomi Mi 5s Questions & Answers

Hey I am wondering if there is any difference between the two of displays. I have lgd and no problem occurred so far. But rumors say there are problems like yellowish screen and screen shadow etc. Can you fill me in on about this affairs?

I don't understand, was the mi5s manufactured using 2 different displays? do you have sources?

says mine is JDI but it looks good to me so I don't mind. the colours on it is cooler than my pc monitor too so I don;t think the tint thing is entirely accurate but then again that may change with time (doubt it though)

probably because there was a shortage with one company so they used 2 to meet the produciton targets.

JDI has 3D Touch, but it's a little bit yellowish.

I need answers on screens!

Hey guys! As the title says,why is it that sometimes,some screens on phones are really smooth like the iPhone? What do we look at? Does being HVGA or WVGA affects the screen smoothness? Or is it up to the manufacturer to decide??? Confused!!!! :B

I'm talking about the screen smoothness,not the video quality! Thanks for the help though
Do you mean the physical attributes of the glass, (i.e gorilla glass), the display, (i.e LCD/AMOLED), or the software, (i.e scrolling/swiping)?
If the latter, Android could definately benefit from hardware accelerated U.I but it's hard to implement because of the diverse hardware that Android has to run on. It's easy in that respect for Apple as it's one set of hardware and one OS.

You could say its about the physical attributes,for example,why is the iPhone 4 screen so smooth and we touch it? And other touch screen phones isn't as smooth? I'm talking about the hardware

[Q] qHD screen incompatibility

Hi, I read that S4 mini's qHD screen is somehow incompatible with android apps which are optimized for 800x400 resolution. Actually I own Galaxy Note 8 tablet which runs 1280x800 and I see no issues with pixelation or anything.
Does anyone found any issues with incompatible resolution or everything is as crisp as it should be!
Which apps are incompatibile? I have never had any issue so far...

Well, I used wrong words.... I meant graphical incompatibility which means apps are blurry, no sharp edges, blurry fonts

P2 - Worth buying?

I have some questions plz answer these -
1. Does it have 2.5 D glass
2. How good is the display i.e. are blacks deep like Samsung phones considering it has an amoled display
3. How is the build quality?Had any scratches
4. How good is development for this phone ,I mean I have Mi4 and still is well developed Can I expect these to be developed for at least 2 - 3 years.
5.Is camera that bad ?
1. No.
2. IMO yes.
3. Superb. No wiggle room anywhere.
4. TBH quite bad at the moment compared to other devices. It seems like progress is being made although very slowly. The stock ROM is decent enough to warrant using it in the meantime though.
5. It's bad. God... So bad.
The display is amazing, i didn't want to purchase another Amoled screen ever again since the Samsung Galaxy Nexus but this phone is worth it.
Even though the build is great with an all metal build.. you should still get a case and screen protector to keep it shiny.
I'm sure development will get much better, there is no rush. After reading around the forums it seems the Roms are usable.. but hey.. it is a lot better than the Dev for the Zenfone Max. They have troubles with no offline charging and phone doesn't turn on when battery reach 0%, so users have to keep it above 5% in order to not semi brick it. This device don't have those bugs.. so that's good. :laugh:
Also another good thing is that they have numerous Roms and am glad that they update the Lineage 13 Roms too, but Stock Rom is just as fine.
Until Lenovo fully stops updating soon; probably by September 2018.. using Custom Roms would be ideal to update when it happens. That would be my suggestion.

Hey, Thanks bro
But I think Redmi note 4 which retails as same price has many more developers and roms and much more engagement.Thats why I am a little worried to buy this.Here I saw just 2 developers doing all the work.I respect their work.But still we are here lacking kernels etc.
Do u think lenovo will continue providing updates till September 2018.I don't think so.

From a technical perspective it seems like a great device indeed. But you are correct. Moto & Redmi (I guess Huawei too) are more widely-spread. However (speaking for me and the local market) compared to the best available version of Moto G5, this phone has slightly better technical specifications (+1gb ram) for the same price.
Dude, I really hope, that I will enjoy this phone as much as my old G2 and my ancient Galaxy S. :fingers-crossed:

I've been looking all around the web, no mention of them at all, they are probably sony lenses
No ,if place sony sensors they will definitely mentioned for device sales.it helps to rage the sales.
Well, huawei/honor doesn't have a camera division, so that's why I thought of Sony. However, it's actually weird that they didn't mention the sensor's name

As far as the quality goes , they should have mentioned it ,one thing for sure, unlike OnePlus they don't make noise and create unnecessary hype

Question Color temperature

I noticed that the pixel colors are very dull, what can I do to make them brighter?

not yet, I would like to wait a little longer
You mean they are very accurate. Colors are rarely flashing, bright and magnificent. Most colors in life are dull and boring. Manufacturers like Samsung tend to oversaturate everything, reducing the color palette to 20 colors, so everything and everyone looks like he just jumped out of a photoshop booth. Because of them and others, people have no idea how colors are supposed to look like any more.
You can increase saturation by going into
Settings
-> Display
-> (scroll down)
-> Colors
There you can choose to change Natural to either Boosted or Adaptive (the latter I would not recommend, since that one crushes blacks/grays). Beyond that, there is not much you can do without root.

Curious where this was going if the answer was yes
Got to be honest, I don't like the display. I think it looks sub par and you can also tell it doesn't use a diamond sub pixel matrix. It's a b grade display to my eyes.

I am psyched! The Color Changer Pro app was what I was looking for. I have specific red/green/blue settings and this app did exactly what I want. I like a bluish, cool tone on my screen (red 217, green 232, blue 255).

There's another awesome app called 'Screen Balance'. That in conjunction with color changer Pro makes my screen look almost identical to my 9 Pro or S21 Ultra. Heavily recommended for you bro.
