After Junior Passos released his modified version of the Moto Gallery app for the new Motorola devices (https://forum.xda-developers.com/z2-play/themes/app-moto-gallery-v540034-t3617488). He modified the icon to be round just like the pixel icons. I modified it further to make it look like the new Motorola design language for their icons. Now the Gallery looks like it came straight from Motorola.

Nice! Can you have a look at the external storage permissions bug? I tried but can't figure it out. It needs more permissions not only in the androidmanifest.xml . The Moto X Style, Force etc don't need all this because the gallery on those phones is a system app and then the app does not need "dangerous" permissions.

Nice! Highlights work, it still has the external storage bug, it doesn't delete the picture from the sd card even though it deletes it from the gallery. And also, now there's no "SD card" folder in the gallery, only "Camera" and the new camera app from Motorola doesn't show the picture if you swype to the right (only happens if you save the pictures to the SD). If you can solve those 2 bugs you are a star!

It works fine if you save the photos on the internal memory, it doesn't work if you save them on the memory card.
I can try it for you if you play around with the code to make it work.

You need to install velvet (Google now).apk and update Google play services for google keep.
Google home is just a shell doesn't work without new Google home
you need also exchange for email to properly work

u need to clear app data of clock in settings and dont push it install as a normal apk it will just update the app

which will remain same after we restart the phone?
same like Tools folder which already exists in menu. check image for details
i want to create folders like : games, players, editors, readers, viewers etc.
but when I restart phone, few folders contains only 1 or 2 apps inside, remaining folders no longer exists
So.. Any help?

dont forget to back up current home apk
simply move app to system and replace with current home
make sure you have secondary launcher install to avoid any bootlops
i mean install any third party launcher just for a time like nova and reboot if it worked and phone booted after replacing new home
remove nova and do test your folder thing
boot loops..... ah no.. I dont want to try it then..

Thanks for reply. That was the first that i do but doesnt work. In message apps i take crashes all the time and in Moto Email the app saids "Your device cannot run this app".
I know that this is possible but its really a big challenge, nobody knows how to do it.

Maybe in gpe is different for the framework changement.

Thanks a lot dude! Thats works for the Email app! Messaging App still crashes like "The app Messages stop". You have idea if i can do something for this? I think the problem is that is from Stock and i want to use it in GPE. But really thanks for the mail, genius!!!

One is the message apk from Kit Kat, i take it from Google Play Store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.slvn.mms) and its modify version but work perfectly and its 100% the same. The second apk is the new version of the app with the new design but i cant install it like i wish. So i need to ask if someone can modify the first app with the design of the second. so if the problem is only the icon there is another way:
-download the new icon
-install custom launcher as nova
-long press to the icon that you want change
-press the icon image
-choose from gallery app
- select the new icon
there are other app that can change the icon.. as:

Hey, i also tried to install the mms.apk in a ROM (placing the folder and apk in system), and faced the FCs.. But erasing dalvik cache solved it for me.. Hope it helps

Edit:if you want to try, the zip attached is the newer apk and will install it properly. Just flash it in recovery. If it doesn't work, it may not be compatible with your ROM.

The zip install it properly, the App appear in de App drawer but I take Fc when I try to open it. Really thanks for try my friend. The problem its that GPE have differents partitions than the stock rom and i really dont know how to fix it. Do you have idea if I have the same problem with CM 12.1 Messaging App? Because I take Fc when I install it like a normal apk too. I Just wanna use one of this Message Apps, Stock or CM 12.1, i really dont like Google Messenger, Textra, etc. Its really big problem because I dont have idea how to make the compatibility. Hi all,
I have installed HTC Gallery apk v9.51.744639 on my HTC10.
Issue that I have is lack of possibility to write to SD card. I do not even get a question to enable permissions, just that writing to SD is not possible.

If I start FX PE stand alone, not trough Gallery, then I can save. So, issue is in HTC Gallery apk.
Message that I get is: "Unable to copy or move images to SD card."

UP,I can't move/delete/edit pictures on standard SD using HTC Gallery,which can do in Google Photos,these's no even setting let me choose the SD write permission

HTC Gallery has been discontinued. Time to find an alternative. Google photos is fine for me, but others may have better options.

Hi @purple patch, as I am aware, only the One Gallery was discontinued on April 30th, not HTC Gallery
Anyhow, this is killing me with inability to Write to SD.

Hmm, can you link to photo fx app you are using. I will try now. I have gallery, but no fx photo editor. The only Fx photo editor I see is not supported in marshmellow, perhaps that is the issue. SD card is handled differently in marshmellow.

It is the one that comes installed with HTC Gallery, and that can be launched from Gallery itself.
Can you check please if you are able to create folders on SD, or edit and SAVE pictures that are on SD?

Yeah, played around a bit. I have no editor in gallery. However I can see photos on SD card. Only option I get is ZOE editor. Im sure you have aftermarket app. Post screenshot of editor if you want. BTW my gallery is Version 10.

OK I have that editor on my Asus tablet, so now I'm confused lol. The gallery I have is from Leedroid rom and is version 10. But I can't find it for you.

Here is the Gallery APK from @LeeDroid rom. But it is force closing on my non-rooted stock rom.

Keep crashing everytime I open it.maybe we need something to be put into /priv-app/[emoji44]
I have same problem with HTC Gallery and MiXplorer...
I think the problem come from Android 6.0, not from the application.

I heard that HTC Gallery was discontinued since april.
Maybe the root and install SDFix app will work..

No, HTC One Gallery was discontiuned, HTC Gallery is still beeing updated hopefully
I am having the same problem. I'm trying to move my pics to SD card, but the HTC Gallery says it can't write to SD.

Extract folder to sd card
Find the new extracted folder in either system/app/ or system/priv-app
In case such folder doesn't exist it's due to different name for same app.

Yes tried gallery but it is nagging about permission failed on deodex not sure what causes it. I had same message when trying to use xperia keyboard but that was due to lack of libraries which was strange.
Gallery doesn't work nor camera or anything else though they should work since they are all working on lower versions so I doubt that's the issue.

Just to point out the xperia keyboard got same log as gallery did about couldn't extract oat or something similar. But it was fixed due to lack of lib files in arm64 folders
Same goes with file manager which seems to be working with "luck" or its a temp bug because I've got it running after reboot again it force closed so it's strange

Nope I can't do it.
Since apktool can't load huawei framework correctly. It's a known issue.
I did this on LG G3 though though much app wasn't needed most parts was running fine.
Pretty much only app that needed a xml fix to work was messaging app since G3 didn't have two resolution lines or dimensions to be exact.
But this is nearly impossible for now to work with due to two reasons
Full N support isn't implemented
Huawei framework is not working due to flags and more resources being corrupt with apktool so it'll throw you errors many times and in the end fail to decompile ? so modifying huawei and even miui apps is hard due to lack of support by thus who work on apktool since it's for now one guy. Sad though but one man can't do everything alone but he does indeed do much

Phone manager for now doesn't work. I'll try see later if I manage to make it work. It doesn't even gets displayed as installed which is bad.
