Just make sure you buy the retail version and not the Amazon version as the Amazon versions you can't unlock bootloader as they don't want you removing their ads
So buy the sim free version from argos or carphone warehouse

Amazon have their own version of Motorola phones - they are normally slightly cheaper as they are ad supported but Motorola will not let you unlock the bootloader of the Amazon version of Motorola phones
Bootloader needs to be unlocked for rooting and flashing custom roms hence why I say buy the sim free retail version from argos or carphone warehouse

I have a MotoG 5 i bought in UK from Amazon £179.95 Mar with 3GB Ram far better
if you buy a Amazon you CAN unlock booteloader & put a custom rom of your choice
i have AIM ROM bascillay Lineage Rom fantastic make sure you get the 3GB Ram it runs better
they are on Amazon now in uk for £164.99 MOTO G 5 is unbeatable for that price,
Argos & Carphone W only have 2GB ram it does make difference in performance (less)

Carphone warehouse , the cheapest £160 including £10 payg easy to unlock the bootloader.

you may of bought if off amazon but I bet its not the amazon version
Amazon versions do not allow their boot loaders to be unlocked
you most likely bought an unlocked retail version from amazon (which they also sell)
Dual sim versions as far as I know are not in retail stores in the uk but im sure you could find them on the amazon market place
Again amazon sell retail versions as well as amazon versions - make sure you read the description because if you buy an amazon version you will find it very hard or impossible to unlock the bootloader

You are mistaken, only the US Amazon sells the Amazon Prime exclusive phones! Amazon.co.uk only has the retail version. Bootloader is unlockable, no lockscreen ads.
EDIT: even your own image only mentions the Moto G5 Plus. Not a word about the regular Moto G5 not being unlockable.

only 2gb ram pay another £5 get amazon deal, with 3gb £164.95 its not like you buy a phone month so whats £5 over 2 years . the bootloader is not an issue on any phone from anywhere,

I don't see how that's relevant. An Amazon version of the regular Moto G5 simply doesn't exist. Only the US Amazon has Amazon Prime Exclusive phones and even then it's only the G5 Plus

Just to help put this one to bed, RonJeremyClarkson is right. Mine was "Dispatched from and sold by Amazon.

[Q] Spanish users, can you guys help me?

Hello there!
I'm really sorry for opening this thread, but I didn't found any way of asking that for a Spanish
I'm in Madrid and I will take advantage of my trip to buy the Galaxy Nexus. I know it will be sold exclusively by Vodafone, but I wanted you to know how do I buy a SIM-free? I'm not sure if they sell without a contract.
So I'm here asking for your help, do you have any tips on how I can buy the Galaxy Nexus?
Sorry for my English!
Thankfully, Lucas.
there are a lot of Vodafone stores around Sol. if they have the phone & do not have it "unlocked", you can ask them to unlock it or have it unlocked elsewhere yourself. there are lot's of websites that will unlock phones for around $20
[edit] sorry i lived in Madrid for awhile but i don't really speak spanish. lol
look mate,i already buy mi Galaxy Nexus in a vodafone shop in Goya street. But you can't buy it there cause you will need to stablish a contract with the carrier. So i will say you ,to go to the phone house shop, which should have the galaxy nexus sim free to adquire it directly paying 650 Euro.
Hope you find one,cheers.
Basically, carriers in Spain don't sell sim-free phones. Only a few stores sell sim-free versions and in this case you'll need to find a "The Phone House" store which might stock it. Considering it was just released in Spain you might not find it in stock.
Thanks for the replies!
As I understand, no carriers sells the unlocked Galaxy nexus? What other option I have because I will not use it in Spain.
And why the price of the Galaxy Nexus here in Spain is much higher than the rest of europe?
I think what i really want to know is what would you do if you were in my place? What is my best option

if you can't find it for a good price there then just wait until you are somewhere that has it for a good price(or order online)....
but as i said, for unlocking, you can also do that online. just google "cell phone unlocking" and there's a bunch of sites that will do it for you.... so it doesn't matter if you buy it locked or unlocked.

I matters because I don't want to pay for the 6 months plan, and I'm leaving Spain after 12/24/2011, so I can't wait that long..
What do you think, is it better if I buy from this site (http://www.clove.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-nexus-16gb) and not on Vodafone?
I'm really confused here, please help me

if you are going to "unlock" the phone anyway, then it doesn't matter if you get if from the UK or from Spain... just as long as it is GSM(uses a sim card).
since you are going to unlock it anyway you'll then be able to use it on your own carrier.
for instance, i've had blackberry phones from vodafone before and unlocked them & used them here in the US.

My problem isn't the fact that it is locked. My problems is getting charged for a service that i won't use.
As I said, find a store called "The Phone House", its a chain of stores that sell unlocked phones. They will sell you an unlocked Galaxy Nexus, if they have it.
There is no other way of getting it in Spain.

or u can just spend $3 on a SIM-unlock code and $10 on the QI charging sticker.. add it to the inside of the battery cover of a US-variant G3 and not deal with any of this.
T-Mobile's is bootloader unlocked. Add $13-$20 to unlock sim/enable wireless charging.

[Q] LG G4 Sim Free UK - Where best to buy?

I'm thinking of getting the LG G4 Sim Free and want to know where is best to buy in the UK? I want either the black leather preferably or black plastic (not interested in any other options). Amazon doesn't seem to have the black leather and for some reason the black plastic is much more expensive there than the gold. I have seen a website called Handtec that is advertising the black leather at a reasonable price, but I have no previous experience with them. Can anyone recommend them or anywhere else for that matter?
Thanks in advance!
Rumoured that O2 will offer the G4 for approx. £480 on PAYG upon release .
Handtec are a very reliable reseller of Sim Free phones. I have pre-ordered the Red Leather through them.
Hey
I found 2 places selling it unlocked in the UK for around GBP 500
Clove http://www.clove.co.uk/lg-g4
Unlocked Mobiles http://www.unlocked-mobiles.com/sim....html?osCsid=7e0fe5e2647bd589178fc0e3706774cf
I was keeping these as a last resort in case I couldn't find anything in my country.

Thanks, but I'd rather not have one from a network as they will probably put more bloatware on it (I'm not even with O2), plus updates usually come slower through he networks.

Thanks - they do seem to have good reviews. Just a bit worried as I emailed them to see how early they would have stock and they said either the end of May or early June - I need it asap as currently without a phone, so will have to check their stock status daily.

Thanks - Clove don't seem to have great reviews and aren't doing the black leather. Unlocked-mobiles are my alternative to Handtec but again they wouldn't commit to when they could send the phone out.

Unfortunately I don't currently have another activated suitably sized SIM to confirm with.
Got one from three retail store for £480 today, they have a big statement on their website saying they don't lock them any more, and people with older handsets can take them in for unlocking.
Anyone got the updated cheapest local price for the LG G4?
I saw some online for £277 via google shopping but from the UK reviews it seems that they're being shipped from overseas.

Technomaster was the seller on mine, it looks like all (including mine) are fulfilled by Amazon.

Yes they sell mainly the P2c72, which is unfortunately with better hardware (64gb) than P2a42. It will work just fine in Europe, but in US the 4G frequency is different.

all ebay listings sell the chinese variant. I cannot believe there is no availability of the european model (p2a42) online.
I could easily buy the chinese variant and it will work for me for the time being here in Japan, but I wll not be living in Japan forever, when I return to my home country the phone will work only with gsm.... The european model has more compatibility with my home country bands
Check out SuperBuy.my
It is a Malaysian retailer that sells the P2A42 variant. They ship via DHL and many Australians on the Whirlpool forums have purchased there, including me.
