Chromecast Audio with Pandora Sleep Timer - Chromecast Audio

I am using Pandora on my Pixel XL phone to play music via Chromecast Audio. I also use the Pandora app sleep timer.
This setup works as intended for the prescribed time (1 hr) after which playout stops, but then 1-2 hours later music starts playing again, but from my phone's speaker. This is apparently when the Chromecast Audio connection drops due to inactivity.
Has anyone experienced this problem or have a recommended solution? Is the Chromecast Audio timeout settable?

yes, and a lot of people do. it happens to every app that casts to chromecast. its an android/chromecast issue. and still not solved in 2021.

Bluetooth and/or Pandora problems?

Is anyone having problems with their bluetooth locking up? I am getting various issues that all seem to be related to the bluetooth. I routinely connect to a Jabra Cruiser Bluetooth speakerphone in my car and stream music, mostly Pandora but sometimes google music or other players.
This morning I turned on the speakerphone and immediately watchdog told me that bluetoothd and pandora services were both stuck at 40% each. I hadn't even launched pandora since the last reboot. Had to restart the phone.
Other times I will go to turn on the speakerphone and it will not connect. I try to turn bluetooth on and off. It shuts off fine but hangs turning on. Usually about 30 seconds later the entire phone becomes unresponsive and I have to restart it by holding power. Putting it in and out of flight mode does the same thing.
Still other times I will shut the speakerphone off or walk out of range and the bluetooth icon on the phone continues to show connected. Sound may or may not come out of the phone and the volume control says bluetooth audio. Again restarting bluetooth locks up the phone and requires a restart.
Lastly sometimes bluetoothd and/or pandora will randomly go haywire and hang with high CPU utilization.
Anybody else seeing any or all of these symptoms or have any ideas. I am rooted and have the 2.3.6 update. Pretty sure the problems were occuring before the update, not sure about before the root.
Thanks...
Yes I am having similar problems when using bluetooth to connect to my home based panasonic DECT phone system. A reboot of the phone does repair the issue. It seems to occur every 24-72 hours, if the phone is not rebooted. My blackberry connects via bluetooth to the same panasonic phone system without issue. I suppose it could be a problem between multiple bluetooth devices. I suspect it is a SW bug though, because a simple reboot has always resolved the problem for me.
Do you have pandora installed? I uninstalled it yesterday and haven't had the problem yet. Did plenty of streaming with Google Music.
One thing I forgot to add. When the device says that is connected and sending out audio over the bluetooth, such as music, but it is really not, I get a moment of audio out of the built in speakers before it turns off.

Yes....we do have pandora installed...and now that you mention it; I believe it is quite possible that we only have the problem when we run pandora after a reboot. Because for the past few days there has been no issue. And I believe during this time I have not been using pandora. If it is Pandora...hopefully a future pandora bug fix will repair the issue.
Since I uninstalled Pandora I have not had a single lockup in almost two weeks. I guess I'll message Pandora and see if they'll fix it.
Edit - Looks like they may have fixed it. Crossing fingers.

Moto 360 Bluetooth headphones constantly skipping

I've tried syncing 2 different types of BT headphones and am constantly getting skipping on the music playback. Like a cd skipping. I added the music to my Moto 360 but can't use it to play music on my runs which totally defeats the purpose. The first set of headphones were BTS and the second set Kinivo 240s. Anyone have the same issue? I also tried putting the watch in airplane mode and then turning on the Bluetooth.
I am using Jaybird Bluebuds X, never had an issue, music never skips. But playing BT Music from watch causes my watch to shut down randomly, sometimes around 50%, sometimes around 75%

Universal Bluetooth/Google Play Music problem - looking P2XL specific workarounds

I have a Dension GW52MO1 500S BT (adds BT media streaming to older german cars) that has play control problems just with Google Play Music. If I listen to YouTube or BeyondPod, Neutron etc it works correctly. What happens with Google Play Music is the first couple of seconds repeat over and over again. Also if I stop the music it immediately starts playing again (repeating first couple of seconds of track). I can get it to work by turning off Bluetooth between one and 4 times, each time waiting for it start playing by itself.
This behavior does not occur in our other car that has the Pioneer DEH80PRS.
This problem is a bug in Google Play Music, there is a Google Product Forum post on it
https://productforums.google.com/forum/?noredirect=true#!topic/play/FKxS7t1W1dA
My question is: Is there any tool I can install on the Pixel 2 XL to help me work around this issue? I tried using Tasker to automate turning Bluetooth on and off but it when I do that the repeat 1st second problem doesn't resolve itself like it does when I do it manually.
The Dension does not appear to have a way to turn off the autoplay (resume) feature which I think interacts with the bug in Google Play Music to cause the issue.
Thanks

TuneIn Radio Pro/Audible Shut Down When Screen Goes Dark; Other Media Apps Don't

Got my Pixel 3 XL Tuesday and despite this being my fourth Google phone (previous had Nexus 4/5/6P), this is the first time I've run into this issue. When listening to TuneIn Radio Pro and Audible streaming, about 1-2 seconds after the screen times out the playback stops. Turn the screen back on and the TIRP widget looks like it's playing as the play/pause button shows pause. Audible starts from scratch (don't use it; was just test the apps I had). Tried un/reinstalling TIRP from Amazon App Store with no change.
PocketCasts, VLC Player and Google Play Music all continue to play after screen goes out, either by time or power button, so I was wondering if the fact they're all playing local files vs. streaming, but switching PocketCasts to streaming mode had no difference; it kept playing.
Phone isn't unlocked or rooted; bone stock. I've checked Battery Optimization for TuneIn and even turning that off had no change.
Anyone else experience this or have a fix? TIA.

I use Audible and I have not experienced this problem. Not sure what to suggest. Maybe clear cache now that you have disabled battery optimization?

TuneIn done this on my pixel 2 XL and still does it on my Pixel 3 XL it might be a bug with the app, when I was using it to cast to my Chromecast audio, I just set screen to never dim and left the brightness on lowest setting with charger plugged in.

Did TuneIn do this on your 2 XL before Pie came out or after? There are some reports on other phones from years ago having this issue, but I'm wondering if something in Pie is more aggressively killing those processes.

I honestly can't remember if it was before or after android pie as I didn't use tunein all that often for this exact reason.

Bluetooth headset stops every 15min

Hi all
Since Android 11 update my bluetooth sound stops every 15 minutes For example I watch long youtube movie and on exactly 15min point sound stops in my headset and continues on device. Headset is still connected to the bluetooth and if I simply pause/unpause video, sond continues through headset next 15min then everything repeats. If I watch playlist of short videos the 15min barier issue does not appear, only if one movie is longer than 15 minutes. The same thing happens when I listen to audio books on any appication and independant if screen is active or not. I tried a few different headsets, the same issue happens. Also tried bluetooth speaker, the same. I did factory reset, didnt help. Spotify also limited to 15 min. H
How to fix it?
It's most likely kernel related problem.
Try flashing custom kernel if your phone is rooted.
Giving Bluetooth module from Magisk a try is fine too.
