Guys, I will be travelling soon and I am wondering if the micro SD slot can take a second SIM instead of a card. Does that slot work as SIM slot as well? Or is it dedicated SD Card slot only?

Are you referring to a Micro SD card or a SIM card?
Both of those go in the back of the phone, but you must take the back cover off.

It appears the deluxe has a hybrid slim slot that takes a Micro Sim and Micro SD Card. Can anyone with the phone confirm this to be correct? Will I need a nano sim card?
Sim 1 is a Micro Sim
And Slot 2 is a Nano sim or Micro SD card

Only really matters if you want the sd card...
And there's a dandy mod on the Axon 7 forum that seems to work that means you can use both the sim cards and an sd card too...
When I insert my SIM card into the SIM card reader, the phone won't detect the SIM card and this started happening since I flashed to Stock Rom.I can't tell if it's a problem with my firmware or just my SIM card reader. Plz help!

I bought 5.1 Plus on Vodafone and it just has slot to sim card and Micro Sd card.
Is this normal? I thought it has dual sim...
