reflash your rom dont wipe just reflash put it in recovery if you cant get in recovery the get in dowload reflash the stock fw then flash twrp boot to twrp then restart your phone go back to twrp flash your rom and gapps restart the phone again wait for it to boot go threw the set up then go in flash su and bump boot and restart then get back to me the other guy who commented is close its not just that the firmware is corrupt and the charge isnt going in to the battery if you can get another temporary battery just to boot to see if it boots before you follow the steps but make sure you follow them to a T cause im not resposable for a bricked device or any acts of god or nuclear explosion

your close its the firmware itself thats corrupt he may need to go back to stock
its never fun to restore to stock to reflash the rom

Have a similair issue. Using TWRP. I solved it by going into recovery and press reboot to system.

sometimes but sometimes the rom can have a just unlucky bug and cause it to not charge so try all options before you reflash

Sprint Jelly Bean Port - Bugs report thread

Alright guys I'll use this thread on the progress for the testing of the Sprint Port
I'll clean it up as I have more time.. I'm just so busy working on code right now for aosp and other things
kernel
-some are having problems with the flashable zip.. i'll make a new one.. might be old binary I used.
for now you can extract the .img file out and use fastboot if you guys know how.
EDIT: try this zip ---> http://houstonn.dccontests.com/xda/sprint/sprint-test2-kernel.zip
try this mms for texting --- http://houstonn.dccontests.com/xda/sprint/sprint.aosp.mms.zip

I've updated the original thread on POST #2 an update for sprint ..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2127346
Then may as well re-post my findings.
Installed and booted fine - everything seemed to be alright (aside from known/pointed out issues on the original posting)
Had 3G working briefly after manually entering an APN (Name - internet, APN - n.ispsn, Type - default)
Not sure what happened - but it worked for about 4 minutes then went away and nothing I could do would get it back.
Currently trying to flash the new test kernel - zip failed to install under both CWM and TWRP
Tried to fastboot flash the img (bad idea from a VM, but thought it worth a try) - never got it to flash
Thought my phone was bricked - but it somehow went from 50% to 0% battery....
Got it back up and going now, back on ICS for a moment to let it recoup and charge lol
what's the command for fastboot? i used to use fastboot for flashing kernel, but that command used to be with zImage. Command used was fastboot flash zimage zImage. Is that the same command that can be used for this?
Thanks

You can use fastboot flash boot boot.img

fastboot flash <partition> <partition>.img
So if you're flashing to the boot partition, put boot where <partition> is and so on and so forth.

pretty much the same.
fastboot flash boot <bootimg>
you can also use fastboot boot <bootimg> to boot a kernel without flashing it (I think I got that command line right)

Here is the issues I had on the initial install.last week. Can someone confirm what is still there? I will erase what has been fixed. With this Houston can have a rough draft. Also post the problems I didn't list. I can hit "Thanks" so you know I got your message. I won't do this indefinitely but I can maintain the issues for long enough. The title of the post will reflect the time and date of the last edit.
Problems-
-O- No Rear Camer Corrected
-O- Front camera pictures are upside down Corrected
-O- Wi-Fi kills 3g/4g (when you turn off Wi-Fi)
-O- Incoming sms has no caller id(shows up anonymous)
-O- No out going sms
-O- Something kills mobile data after it initially works. I don't know if it goes idle and doesn't wake up or what. It ran flawlessly on irc for an hour the other night. This is probably related to the Wi-Fi issue.

I just has the same thing happen. I plugged my phone into a wall charger and held power until the LED started blinking red. I immediately unplugged and held vol up and power to get to fastboot. It took a few tries but it finally booted to fastboot, couldnt get recovery.
I pulled the boot.img from the original JB zip and flashed that thru fastboot the same way as above. It wouldnt boot up but did get me to recovery and i flashed imperium back.
Gonna try again with new kernel after I charge a bit.

flash the test2 kernel I posted.. it works now it's flashable zip.
The only things that dont want to work on JB are data and sms (can receive but not send). thats all i can see other than that the rom is flawless.
Data and SMS are obviously huge things, especially for me. Once that is fixed then I'm all over this! Thanks!

yep its set up properly.. its writing to the phone now.. we shall see the out come.. but i do believe i hard bricked it.. so hopefully this works..
update: well i just brought my phone back from a hard brick with out the use of any special tools.. thanks man for the proper flash format..
Now my issue is no network.. time to dig into these nv items. any advice on unlocking the locked ones by chance?
No need to dig into NV items the note 3 can rebuild it's own NV just flash https://www.dropbox.com/s/vvnvwapc08ihgh7/Brick_Loop_FIX_afterRestoringBackup.zip it wipes and rebuilds the modem partition allowing the note 3 to repair itself upon reboot.

[Q] Softbricked after accidental update

So my rooted phone is now soft bricked. Any help would be appreciated!
Info:
- rooted with Kingo
- recently updated with 4.3 - therefore KNOX is now installed
- didn't like 4.3 and went back to stock 4.1
so everything was working all fine and dandy for like 3 or 4 days when I accidentally updated (stupid stupid stupid stupid reflex on an early morning)
I do not have CWM installed. I have the stock img of the i317 (I317UCAMA4_I317ATTAMA4_ATT.zip) and using Odin (as I've used it for the stock firmware I installed)
I've been getting a boot loop and would like to know if anyone out there is knowledgable enough to help me?
Please?
Thank you!
Edit:
Thank you for your quick response! Yes, I've tried and found those threads before, but I guess I forgot to mention that I also get the
"Firmware upgrae encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode i Kies &try again" screen
Doing the flash via Odin only gets me a FAIL! all of the time with these steps...

What fails ??? Is it stopping on sboot.bin ? If so that's the bootloader file and 4.3 won't flash over it.

Of course I don't expect that you'll be seeing this now, but please know i do appreciate the help!
I started from scratch. But the thing is, I have been following this step by step.
I CANNOT do a factory reset.
Completed Section 1: Flashing LJ2 4.1.1 via ODIN - until Step 5 and 6.
*** Upon reboot the phone will hang. This is because of left over 4.3 file(s) not letting the system boot.
Pull the battery and let the phone sit for a few seconds, pop the battery in and boot into stock recovery (HOLD VOL UP+HOME+POWER) and do a FACTORY RESET then reboot.
When it hangs on the Pulsing Blue Samsung logo, do this step. (expect to do this)
Odin showed a green PASS! but it is still stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note II logo. I have followed every step and every file to the letter that you recommended... I am unsure what to do now. I left it just in case it went to boot, but it's been 15 - 20 mins already... I'm happy to just get i back to 4.1 even "(

So after ODIN finishes... It reboots. You pull the battery and do the VOL UP HOME POWER combo, and it does not bring up stock recovery ?

It does not. It gets stuck in Samsung Galaxy Note II logo. I know how to do Download mode and recovery mode. That's my problem. There is NO recovery mode anymore. I followed everything to the letter. If I am able to get to recovery mode, I will do a wipe and factory reset everything then problem solved... however this became a problem after the accidental update so I don't know what to do anymore. </3

No worries... I've been in that spot many many times.... Luckily for all of us @fuzio1963 was brave enough to test out flashing the param/tz combo. Saved alot of people...
Thanks for the offer of goodies... I'm lucky at this point of my life to have all I need.

I completed all the steps and now running 4.3! My device is updating however, is it safe to install this after all I've done?
I figured I might as well recompile everything you outlined offline in case I brick mine again...
I'll give that a look! I was asking for amazon because I may still have some credit on there, but your suggestion looks better Thank you for everything you've done!

Well, after completing everything and updating my apps, the ATT Device Manager is still rearing its ugly head. It did so again now, and when it rebooted it loaded TWRP, it went into recovery mode automatically without me pressing any buttons.
I am trying to find a way to remove it now, but I would further encroach upon your good graces, if you please, is the Device Manager/ATT update safe to let be?
Interesting it's keeping on checking for updates.
You can try going to applications, scroll pages over to All. Scroll down to ATT software update, press it and clear cache
Something is making is making it think is needs to keep checking.
I use TITANIUM Backup to freeze it. Going to need it backup if you want 4.4 update

Yeah, I thought it would be done. I wiped cache from it as you advised. So I guess I'll have to pay for Titanium Backup. Sigh. Some things must be unavoidable. Nevertheless, I cannot thank you enough. It got my baby working again!

Bricked G4 h815, bootloader locked after flashing a new ROM

Hello, today i flashed one of the new nougat stock roms. The first boot was fine, everything worked perfectly . But after rebooting I've got the "your device is corrupt. it cannot be trusted and it may not work properly" message, and it wont boot anymore. I cant go into recovery and i cant go into download mode because i get the same the same message and the phone reboots. i can only access the fastboot mode for bootloader unlock, and apparently that my bootloader is now locked. So I've tried to unlock the bootloader again, but it says "Wrong Bootloader Unlock key". Anyone has any idea?

I have the exact same problem and to be honest I think we are f*****. I haven't found any way to re-unlock the bootloader since it seems that the unlock.bin doesn't match with the Device-ID anymore.
This is an IMEI problem. It goes to 0, so the unlock.bin no longer works. I also had this message but my phone was still booting. So I was able to solve the problem.
But you, you can not start your phone, so I do not know how to fix your problem. Sorry

No it isn't an IMEI problem, I can reboot my phone and I can access the download mode to flash a KDZ which I did.
EDIT: Oh but I just see in the settings that my IMEI indeed turned into a zero... I do have a TWRP backup of my IMEI.
I quess it's a better idea to make my own G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting thread for help.
I reply in your topic

Hhmm maybe you aren't totally lost, you can access Fastboot mode right, so how have you tried to access the Download mode? You pressed the Volume up button and connected your device with a USB?
It seems you have the same problem as I had, your IMEI turned into a "0", that's why your unlock.bin fails to flash. Just try to access the Download mode for a couple of times, maybe with a but of luck it wil boot into Download mode eventually.
Is there a way to change imei on nougat? Because i cant go in download mode to downgrade to mm
Having the same issue. Cant enter on download or recovery. Fking sht

I've tried like 20 times already, unfortunately it reboots almost instantly.
We all have the same problem at this point I know that we either hold the smartphone so or we send it to assistance but considering that it is not covered by warranty do not know how long it is

Try this method to live your download mode - https://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/...lcomm-t3452853
You can try a last attempt before you give up if you can not fix it: write an email to [email protected] explains the problem that you've updated to nougat beta and now your bootloader has re-locked and your imei is set on 0 and so the unlock.bin file does not work, try to see if they send you a working one, yesterday I wrote the email and they also answered me asking for more info but I have now solved the problem. Attach the device id and a photo of the back of the phone where the imei is written. Try it

[HOW-TO] [2019/09] installing TWRP on A50 (100% working!)

What you need:
TWRP (thanks to ZVOX): htt ps://mega.nz/#!SWYwAQAb!bbLnex8yhT7tyBTdTMr2wIS-tzITjg5VMJ_p1msXenQ
DM-Verity Disabler: ht tps://mega.nz/#!6bIAACia!WtfQf6DRAJVLjxhW0Gp3J4HQv_VstpGYm_7RoVkVhsQ
copy links, and remove space in "ht tps".
Tested with A505F/DualSim (me) and A505FN (tested by muhamet).
Steps to install TWRP:
Enable oem unlock in the developer settings.
Power off phone. Hold 'vol-up' and 'vol-down' then plug your phone to PC. You will enter download mode.
Long press 'vol-up' to unlock bootloader. Phone will reboot and wipe data and remove google accounts.
When phone reboots, shut down phone, unplug from PC and wait until screen is off. Hold 'vol-up' and 'power' to enter stock recovery. Do a factory reset AND wipe cache. Then select to "reboot to bootloader" to go to download mode again.
Plug phone again, and in AP select the TWRP (3.3.1-3) provided by ZVOX. go tto options and untick/unselect auto reboot.
Click on start. When its done, hold 'vol-down' and 'power' until screen goes black then IMMEDIATELY STOP HOLDING 'vol-down' and SWITCH to 'vol-up' before Samsung logo appears, WHILE KEEPING YOUR FINGER ON 'power'. VERY IMPORTANT TO BOOT IN TWRP!! keep holding no matter what until you get TWRP screen.
Swipe to allow modifications, then press Mount > System.
Go to Advance > File Manager, then scroll to /system/system/ and scroll to "recovery-from-boot.p" and rename it to "recovery-from-boot.p.bak"
Flash Disable_Dm-Verity_ForceEncrypt zip in TWRP.
Format Data partition. Type "yes" to confirm.
you can boot to system now. TWRP is permanent. GG
Thanks bro . I will provide feedback definitely

If anybody tests this and reports success, reply in thread to add your device as compatible.
