I was referring to the application that our Chinese friend to put it here and in Chinese, of european rom do not understand anything, and we ask to send them nicely if this application pou translate it in English or Italian.

It appears that if you have selected anything else (I had UK) then it doesn't work!

I tried changing the language to english (US) and it still only results in web pages, and does not speak replies.

Mine doesn't speak anything to me, including weather. Doesn't matter if I'm on the mobile network or Wi-Fi.
I tried everything suggested with no luck.

He just switched language in the Google Voice settings in Google Now.
It works ONLY with English (US).
all other languages give search results as usual google search.
i can confirm that i have english (us) and always speak in my settings. i still never hear a result spoken back to me....what gives?

This is what I did to get voice search results to talk back:
1. Open Google Now and go to settings
2. Go to "Privacy and Accounts"
3. Make sure "Search on google.com" is checked
4. Check if your audio volume is up!
ok i have been through both threads my voice is still not working for me. my search on google.com is checked, im not blocked by my wifi at home, i have gone to the settings and tried to Vol+ everything is up. i have made sure that my phone's settings is all checked off with English US. im using the Google speech, my speech output is always on speak. and i still dont get talk back

This might have already been fixed but I also had this problem with Google now's voice response not working. I somehow got it fixed by:
going into phone settings
select language & input
select text-to-speech output
select Pico TTS as preferred engine
When I got back into my google now app the speech was working.
Can also go to settings
Select accessibility
Select text to speech output
Select Pico TTS

It's abit troublesome if you need to use numbers snd decimal points, you need to switch from alphabet to numeric in order to get it. I think they should add decimal point in the numerical pads too without switching to and fro.
It is against XDA rules to post Swype as a standalone apk.

It's a free apk at the moment while it's in BETA, if it is against the rule I will remove it but I thought been as it's a FREE BETA it would be no problem??? Am I wrong???

If you hold down the button that changes to numeric it brings up a different numeric pad with decimal point, enjoy!
Been using this for a while now and works flawlessly! Really liking the keyboard themes

Which really really sucks if you use two languages.
Anyway, Swype was never very supportive for people that used more than one language. Even the version where you press a single button to switch languages, sometimes it doesn't change at all, and when it does, it's always less snapier than any other keyboard I have tried.
Using stock prediction more worse than swype.

Did you know the shortcut to change language on swype?
Swipe your finger from the swype button to the spacebar. You don't need to longpress anything.
There are several more shortcuts, it's in the settings, you can look after.

Everybody makes mistakes.No hard feelings
Tried this one cause the Samsungs continues input doesn't work. Afrter a quick testing, this one is worth trying if you wanna use swiping for text input.

In case anyone is having trouble with the quick language switch gesture, you just have to make sure to select a second active language before you can toggle between languages.

Yes, but i solved it with a clean reinstall of Swype. Now it works normally.

i cant use the google keyboard correctly... it wont ask me if i want to save a new word into the personal dictionary. and i cant open the personal dictionary... i tab on it and the same screen opens...

you can get to the dictionary when pressing and holding the space bar
then press select keyboard
then google keyboard
then text correction
then my dictionary
when i press on for all languages or my specific language it only opens the same page ... nothing happens and i cant add words

when you typing a message can you save a new word ?
the keyboard should highlight the new word with a red line unterneath the word... tab on it and it asks you to save the word in your dictionary...

misspelled word has a blue line tapping it does nothing

I've been having this problem for a while. It was the same on the m8. I am on Veeizon m9 now and still the same. I have tried stock from when I first got the phone and have since tried Viper, ICE and FluentRom but still the same. It is not the custom roms doing it, it has to be on Google's side.

I've noticed that I cannot see the time stamps of messages. I'm curious to know if we can enable the time stamps in messages. Or slide the message to the left or right to get the time stamp as it works in iMessage...
Just give the message bubble a tap and you'll see the time stamp.

I don't know for exactly I have look under Google , u tube, setting G+ settings and I'm a white female 36 that lives in the US in Texas, I think whatever it is has me Korean/Japanese and link under family link or partners so I can't watch anything over rated on t.v , computer, phone, tablet etc. I believe my Tablet was UNRoot/root and changed all my info... Need HELP... thanks, tina

Doesn't look like anything with root. Can you try factory reset and start again?

At least for the "Korean/Japanese"...
If I'm understanding correctly, try changing the language to English -- drag down notification bar, click the cog, go to System (second option from the bottom), then Languages & Input (selection the topmost option), Language Preferences (topmost option), and move English to the top (hold down 3 lines next to it) and/or click green plus on the bottom of the list and add English (US)....
If I'm understanding correctly, you trying to work your phone when everything is in Asian lettering would make things exponentially more difficult to figure out and troubleshoot...
