It feels premium but would be better with a case.

While the Nextbit Robin looks too geometrical for comfort, it's not the case since it has generous rounded corners. The smooth plastic body may be a little slippery for dry hands, which may lower confidence taking the phone in and out of the pocket throughout the day.
I found the corners at the bottom make for difficult "lying back in bed" texting.
Generally you lay the phone balancing on the side of one of your pinkies, but this is difficult and it's almost like a balancing act.
Usage in other scenarios are no problem. The corners make it slightly more awkward for jacket pockets that aren't also square though.
I recieved my Robin yestrday and after one day, I have to say it's one of the best phones I ever held in my hand. It's simple, fits in my hand just perfectly.

Do you feel you have a small or large hands? This is definitely a big phone which is my concern.
I have VERY large hands but the Robin feels like it was made to fit your hand. It is very comfortable to hold, the square frame is deceiving.
i admit i have to say that the robin is something really beautiful for our hands.
coming from the oneplus one, which has a really nice backcover, we all know that, it feels just great in the hands.
its not that cold and normal plastic, but its a soft nice warm touch.
greez
Absolutely amazing! This is something the Robin REALLY excels at. I have both the HTC 10 and the Nextbit Robin and the Nextbit Robin feels so much better in the hands. It really feels premium. The solid feel and weight in the hand is perfect. Also the length of the phone feels great in the hand. Please do no change this factor in the successor to the Nextbit Robin. Additionally, the top and bottom of the Robin (The 2nd color - mine being the blue of the electric) makes the phone much longer and rectangular, this with the boxiness makes it much more easier to type out messages on the Robin compared to more curved smartphones such as the HTC 10. Please keep the rectangular frame on the successor, this is great!
The Robin feels clean. It's super sharp (look wise), and the texture is smooth to the touch. Overall really pleased with the ergonomics of this device.
I have a Robin and Nexus 5x. Generally speaking, the Nexus has the perfect feel with with and without a case. The Robin has an amazing feel without a case, and is just slightly too wide and long for me to enjoy with one hand with a case on it. (That is a finger length issue ...not a phone problem for sure, as it is one of the most attractive phones I have seen).

"Look" of the device (aesthetics)

Honor 8, I have sapphire blue, is one pretty darn good looking device., An incredible phone to hold ergonomically and an awesome piece of work, aesthetic wise. The 5.2 size fits perfect in the pocket as well as the hand, I do not have to worry about this phone in comparison to my 5.5 device from sliding out of my pocket when sitting down. This is a seriously great phone
lol not sliding out your pocket, this phone is like bar of soap it slide from anywhere
I swear a phone which can be held comfortably feels great in hands.

Im not sure about in hand feeling. It might be slippery due to glass. But still look wise, it is great in Saffire blue color.

Really feels great. The small form factor is the new black. Perfect size to wait balance. The added girth of the phone actually helps the palm WRAP the mobile better. The trick of cold but smooth metal is very reassuring.

It feels like a high quality device but it is slippery. Sometimes feels is if it's going to jump out of my hands! I think it's a little too big for its screen size--bezels are a little too large.
I like the size. I wanted the XL but got the 5" because of price and I'm glad I did. Seems like a perfect fit. In photos the device always looks really thick, but it does not feel thick.
I have the 5" Pixel and find it great with no case (naked joke incoming). I wish I didnt feel it needed a case. The metal would survive some roughness but I dont think the glass would.
I'm coming from a Sony Z3 Compact and don't find it out of proportion or too big. It's an adjustment but love the extra screen size. Miss my 2 day battery tbh and my waterproofing.
Great.
Million times better than the HTC 10 which I also have
Not too heavy, tall or wide.

Personally the "One-hand feel" is great. I'm coming from a HTC M8 and it's fairly close. I've never had problems switching songs on the go, or using it while walking.
The only issue I've personally experienced is with how you have to hold it when playing a two-handed landscape game. The speakers being at the exact bottom make it so you have to hold it awkwardly as to still hear the sound - unless you're using headphones in which now you have an AUX plug in the way for one hand. It's not a deal-breaker, but it was a factor I've run into.

Thanks for your sharing!!:good:
My Pixel is replacing my Moto X (2013 -- the orginial) and while I'd like to say this phone feels as good or better to hold and use than my Moto X so I can add that to the list of justifications for spending so much money on this phone, I can't. This phone is a little awkward to use with one hand. I'm right handed which makes anything in the upper left and lower left corners of the screen on the Pixel difficult to reach without juggling the phone around a little. Because the phone is so slick I start getting nervous about possibly dropping the phone while trying to juggle it around one handed. I know the answer is to use two hands, but I've never had a phone that I needed two hands to use so to that end I'm going through a bit of a transition period. Also, the phone feels a little weird to hold whether I'm using it as a phone (like making a phone call and holding it to my ear as if it were a real telephone!) or just picking it up from the table and carrying it out to the car. To be fair, I did keep my last phone for over 3 years so it may just take a while for me to get used to this one, but ironically I can't help feeling that if the phone was just a little thicker it may be a little more comfortable to hold. Maybe when my case arrives the phone will feel better to me.
On a positive note, the finger print sensor is perfectly located (for me) and super easy to use! I took the time to set up my fingerprint by trying to make sure I got as much of it scanned as I could and that seems to have paid off because it's no trouble at all to use the fingerprint scanner to unlock my phone especially one handed!
I ordered my phone directly through Google (recieved it a little over 2 weeks ago). I also switched my phone service to Google's Project Fi at that time
U just cant compare orihinal motox which must be the smallest 4.7" phone ever made and easy to hold. Everything bigger then moto would feel the same. I had a same feeling wjen I went on a 5.5" phone, felt like im holding a tablet. After 2-3 weeks was great and bemefits of smaller phone and minimal compared to everything that a big screen brings with it
Coming from a 5x I was a bit surprised at the weight - it's heavier then I expected. I have 5" pixel and its a good size. Not sure if they just wanted to keep the phone proportionate but if they shank down the chin it would be a little easier for one handed use. All in all, it's got a premium feel and fits nicely in the hand. IMO, it definitely needs a case. I wouldn't want to drop this thing without one.
love the phone
I wanted to get the XL but due to backordering, got this one. So far, I'm happy I did because it fits so perfectly in my hand. I'm used to large phones so this was a big deal switching to 5". No regrets - the ergonomics are amazing.
can someone tell me about his/her experience of phone with different thickness from top to bottom?

I find and believe that the *plastic* side rails on our XZP's make this the easiest handling huge phone I've ever owned. From the Note 4 to the U Ultra, I've owned alot of phablets and this is the best handling of them all. I love this thing.
Personally i think it handles superbly and that smooth finish makes it easy to hold for long hours
I love the weight, really feels like something special and I think it helps in the hand, its not light and flimsy, very comfortable and the fingerprint sensor is perfect for my thumb. Only down side is I hardly see my lock screen as its that fast to unlock. Went to a friends to day and there was oohs when I showed them the phone in chrome, screen also got a load of admiration.
You can see your lock screen by just pressing the low end tip of the power button. It just wakes the screen without attempting to use the fingerprint scanner

Handles a lot better than my G3. The smooth sides really make it.
coming from my LG g3, with the same sized screen, I will say the more boxy design is considerably more difficult to operate with one hand. it definitely has a more premium feel, but if you're not very familiar with one handed acrobatics, you might drop this accidentally
had Lumia 950XL before this and actually, I quite like the look and feel of it an I'm not scared I'm going to crack the glass on the edges if I walk past a table edge. One thing I do miss on this compared to my Lumia 950xl is the ability to bring down the display to half way
A few months back i upgraded from a z5 to the xz premium and i have to say the handling is much better. It is far more satisfying to use it without a case but i don't recommend that. Overall if you have big hands then this phone shouldn't be a problem.

Quality feel (use of materials)

Rate this thread to express how you think the Samsung Galaxy S10+ feels in terms of quality. A higher rating indicates that it feels premium and high-quality (attention to detail is high, manufacturing defects don't exist, etc).

samsung typical cheap plastic trash, hate it, always will, they do intend you to break it easy so you buy another after all.
i dropped my moto z force on concrete tons of times with no damage, not doing that with an s10
edit: nearly forgot this one before, but with the battery moto mod on the moto z force i had before this it was way more comfortable to hold in landscape orientation, the z force without the mod had the same issue though but i have to ding the s10+ cause the only solution is a bulky case that some people probably don't want and even then it's not as comfortable to hold due to the thinness of the device.
Actually the higher the build quality "feel", the more likelihood you will have damage during a drop. The old plastic phones like my Blackberry 15 years ago could be tossed all over the place without a case and keep on chuggin'.
This is why the case industry has grown into a billion dollar business!
That said, the ceramic S10+ is in a league of all its own.
Nobody cares if your cheaper old plastic phone survived drops easily, plastic absorbs impacts in a different way, while scratching and losing material very easily.
This phone is in its own league, it's not made to be dropped since there are other devices for that, but the feel is the best you could get and the ceramic version showed very good durability while having top class comfort.
As a matter of fact this device is one of the most expensive ones to manufacture, if not the most expensive one at all.
https://www.notebookcheck.net/The-Samsung-Galaxy-S10-costs-just-US-420-to-build.411858.0.html
Materials are awesome. I got the ceramic version. But hell, that thing is slippery without a case.
Comparing it to my Note 9 , the Note 9 wins hands down. I'm not just referring to the Note 9 weight either. Example first things I noticed with the s10+, back glass resonates when watching YouTube videos at 50% volume or more. As does some voice calls using the earpiece, I can feel the back glass resonate if the other party has a bassy voice.
Furthermore, no matter what color you chose on the s10 the frame is a painted chrome color, another cost cutting corner by Sammy. Where as on the Note 9 the chassis would also be the same color of the back as was the lens camera surround.
This flagship almost reminds of my favourite chocolate bar of yesterday's. Everything is cut down and reduced.
Don't get me wrong, the build quality is still high, but lower than what my expectations are from Samsung.

The buttons and the frame are pretty solid. Also, the phone is not heavy weighted, which is excellent for one hand usage. I'm not giving it a 5/5 just because I think that the aluminum frame could be of a better material. It scratches easily. If you simply miss the charging port at night and gently scratch the frame, it will get scuffed.
