What is the tool in the pics?I think it's useful

What exactly is this? AOSP launcher?

Does this allow you to use the OnePlus 3 Launcher on custom ROMs like LineageOS?

I think you installed the Launcher3.apk in the attachments, not the OnePlus 3 Launcher that is hosted on AndroidFileHost. That one fails to launch for me. I don't have a OnePlus phone on a custom ROM though.

Oneplus has now OP_launcher on Playstore with latest OP3 beta edition : icon support and re-sizable https://play.google.com/store/apps/dev?id=8677746436809616031&hl=en .
Concerning Launcher3 attached (post#1) is a minimal caf edition; I tried HalogenOS caf Launcher3, which includes icon support, re-sizable and wipe up/down access. But it isn't portable; hope ( @xdvs23 and) XOS team will provide, in the future, portable up-to-date caf apps for : Launcher / Music / Gallery(+PhotoEditor lib ?).
They already have browser : https://github.com/halogenOS/android_packages_apps_Browser/blob/XOS-7.1/XOS_Browser.apk

The apps are portable, you should be able to install any of those on any ROM. We are not providing them directly as of now, but you can simply get them out of the system in test builds or build them from source.

Yes, unfortunelly its the case, encryption its still a little messed up, did not try to boot encrypted, but almost for sure at this stage it will fail and not boot if encrypted.
If you try to boot encrypted let me know how it goes.

Yup! Confirmed, it does NOT boot if encrypted. It runs the boot animation until it stops then it has "Created by..."
Worth noting... Flashed quickly with no issues and micro GApps.
I'll be able to reflash correctly when I get home to verify more.

If someone can actually manage to make a dark version of this it would be superb. Not fan of light backgrounds on gallery apps.

Isn't there an Intent on Android that launches a default image editor? On my usual Gallery, there is an "Edit" menu entry that launches Snapseed.
I was just thinking that launching an external editor would be an easy quick fix and then the internal one could be fixed later (or not).

OOSGallery is now part of Playstore; conversely to SnapdragonGallery it doesn't allow enhanced controls for video, has no libs symlink-ed, and like other gallery_apk, it provides embedded PhotoEditor's choice to camera_apk.
The weird thing is that on OOS github "darkware" :
- OOSGallery has "broken" PhotoEditor only, whereas SnapdragonGallery is working fine with a last modern embedded PhotoEditor version
- SnapdragonCamera is ok, with flash, but no 2x telephoto
- OOSCamera is working with 2x telephoto but with broken flash (and very 1st photo always void)
You can find some added (msm8998 / darkware) SnapdragonGallery libs, in post #7 , maybe some CAF devs can re-use them (?) ( @xdvs23 @joshuous ). I'm waiting for 4.5.8 update for more tests on darkware side.
(Nota : if some knows how to check, if a specific app is CAF optimized, please post info & link.)

Hi @oF2pks, why do you call it "Darkware"? What makes it dark? Looking at the OOS manifest, it just looks like you're building plain SnapdragonGallery directly from CAF. I'm not so sure yet what's special about it. Please correct me if I'm missing anything out

In fact I just built the complete github OOS rom.
First, I neither thought github OOS will build OK, but it does without any fixes AND with LLVM straight.
So I was naive to believe I could flash boot + system img on top of OOS 4.5.x : just bootloop; userdata.img has to be flashed coincidentally.
The resulting boot is what I named "darkware": a "stalk" aosp of H2O
- device Id : MSM8998 unrecognized by OPLaucher and no flash for OPCamera
- loose kernel
- outdated framework patched with recent fresh tweaks
- incompatible specifics with n-mr2 upgrade
- "tricky" complete fastboot_erase to recover a certified OOS 4.5.x
- *missing DRM Widevine
But the Snapdragon apps were real ok, and, for fun, I boot OK a patched OOS darkware with microG and WakelockBlockers : https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=745425885120751353
Instead of open sources, Oneplus did a full msm8998 (intrinsync-like) factory images compatible with OP5 inside chips (rescue rom img ?). I even tried an ugly n-mr1 manifest (attached) that sync ok, but breaks on bluetooth
Code:
enumeration values not handled in switch: INTEROP_DISABLE_HF_INDICATOR', 'INTEROP_DISABLE_PLAYER_APPLICATION_SETTING_CMDS', 'INTEROP_DELAY_SCO_FOR_MT_CALL
(I don't think all this can help you, but I'm waiting with impatience to fire VertexOS on OP5...)

Yeah the sources on GitHub are not meant for you to build a full ROM. They're meant for devs to pick core functionalities for the OP5, such as Dash Charge, NFC, etc.
And no one really needs the compilation fixes for the kernel as long as they know which make commands to use. Either way, the kernel compilation 'issues' will not pop up when you make a boot.img (packaged in the ROM) instead of zImage.
And VertexOS will come to OP5 maybe after Android O comes out. There's still some unfinished experiments to work on for the OP3
It works as a photo viewer on HTC U11 7.1.1 all stock.

I would love to try a debloated H2OS rom, with your microG and NanoMod + Playstore addition! Currently I'm on stock H2OS (update 8, released 8/19) with ElementalX Kernel and I'm still experiencing a rather unpleasant WiFi idle drain. It works exactly like official H2os full zip : latest firmware are flashed coincidentally, and use no-verity for decrypted purpose (multirom[+restorecon_option to fix broken SELinux contexts, which can be causing bootloops of secondary ROMs when Oneplus' full zips are flashed on primary]...)
BTW, I also tried deodexed Oos, but it's real buggy and shows that Certified Playstore is primary goal (?), so maybe H2os is better choice for dev purposes & tweaks; it also comes with independent app direct online update for OP Launcher, FileManager, Icons....

Maybe OPCalendar won't work without OneplusAccount embedded in H2os (?), also many components are build from Tencent Tech like OPFileManager (with clean-up option).

I did not use lineageos 15.1/16.0, I used the official firmware all the time. After the first versions of Android 9 appeared, I use my versions of AOSP Pie firmware.

I wanted to say that I can not make the comparison proposed by you, because I did not use the firmware you specified.
In comparison with the official firmware, I did not find significant advantages for myself. Just an updated version of android. Autonomy in my opinion improved slightly by 1-1.5 hours. Multi-tasking remained at the same level.
thank you

Thank you Vartom for your constant and important commitment for the development of Nexus 9 and Pixel C.
This AOSP rom is running really great.
However April version needs more time to load browser pages, Facebook pictures etc. compared to March rom and the previous one.
Maybe is better to perform a fresh install (i am running the rom since November)?
Someone know if restore wizard has been fixed in latest gapps?
Back in October-november you had to skip it and set everything from scratch.

Can not change battery icon style it is stuck on Icon Portrait.
Hi @xNombre, just 2 quick questions regarding the the kernel used in your LOS release:
1- Does the kernel support HW Encryption? I remember on Havoc 2.9 (Android P) there was a port of 4.4 kernel with working HW crypto.
2- Will you release a standalone package of the infinity kernel in the future that can be used with other ROMs?
Thanks!
do we need jdc treble for this or what? since it "treble"
What about battery life?
can i flash other android 10 gsi based on this rom since it "treble"
immediately banned from telegram group right after joined. not even wrote a message or got a warning. interesting way to manage a community group.
i'll be around for feedbacks. thanks for your effort anyways.

1. AFAIR not yet because it's not merged on LOS.
2. Probably no because there are too many custom changes made (dt & vendor) and I don't like listening to moaning that something is broken. I want to release more interesting ROMs some day (Syb... uhh ekh... eria).

Hmmm, that's interesting question. I've only focused on making it fulfill all Android Q requirements concerning vendor separation (and such as APEX), not intended to make it GSI friendly. I guess there are still some incompabilities and you can't expect such and old device to be GSI friendly.

Test yourself, the biggest culprit about I can do nothing more is RIL. Maybe when Xiaomi releases Q for daisy, the blobs will make it better.

Not listed so not fixes, I thought it's clear.
New build could have some problems due to selinux change (dt2w or so) and I will push hotfix when I can.
