Please help me buy a tempered glass for Honor 8 pro without halo effect from India??? - Honor 8 Pro Questions & Answers

I'm from India and I bought around 4 glasses. All of them had a problem in the side as its a curved screen. Please help me buy a good one from an online site. Honor 8 pro blue.

Thank you Venugopal. But mine is a blue one. Don't you think th3 blue one is better. I guess we have to adjust with the full coverage glasses. ?

I had ordered one from AliExpress for around 80rs with free shipping. It has got 3d edge and it's fully covered. Also blue in colour. It was better than the 200rs tempered glass that I ordered from Amazon. You will get more from AliExpress..will have to wait for few days(18-30). Still free shipping. Search honor v9 for more products

The cases in Aliexpress are cheaper too..Order from sellers with high rating and more orders. The glass I ordered is out of stock now.

Oh that was unlucky to get out of stock.
But u got a best deal.

careful with these TG screen protectors. there's a good reason why they have coloured at the edges/ borders. so you can't really see the halo/ bubbles.
i am actually using sth similar and blue in colour. occasionally, when i tap on screen, i can hear a sound (meaning there's air at the bottom where i was pressing). when i checked with the reseller (i got it free with my phone purchase), they told me yes... there will still be some halo/ bubble since it's near impossible to have any TG SP that can cover completely due to design of the screen on the honor 8 Pro -- edges are slightly curved aka 2.5D.
reseller said there is another type is is "silicone tempered glass". dunno what that means. it's smaller than the screen size but no halo effects. if one is OCD, unlikely one can accept this. i've yet to drop by the shop to check this out. i'll update when i do.
so, what i understand:
* full screen glass is (almost) impossible to get without halo/ bubbles
* full screen film -- you can get easily and done right, no halo
* not full screen glass but should still cover the display area -- possible to get no halo

@mydragoon thanks man..they have a full body screen film on gadgetshieldz. But it isn't glass. What if the screen breaks if it falls down?
I own a Huawei p9 also. The glass is not covering the full screen. True that it satisfies my ocd but watching videos and surfing through the sides is a nightmare. Plus, it's a disaster to look at.

agreed. that's a downside of film over TG. i have a P9 and it's still on film with a case. but there's already a small crack at the bottom bezel. somehow, must have accidentally knocked sth. since it's not a big crack, left it like that. i do wonder what if i've used a TG.
TG that only covers the display area but not the whole screen. i can live with that as i had that for my note 2 (in the past). it did not really distract me when i am watching video and playing games was also ok since it covers more than the display area -- just not covering the whole screen. <-- hope u get what i mean
in the end, diff ppl, diff OCD tolerance level

Actually, no. It's very thin. I usually sport my phones without cases because I don't like the extra bulk but this is hardly noticeable.

Any good screen protectors that DON'T effect the s-pen that much

Howdy dudes and hoes.
Is there any screen protectors that doesn't effect the s-pen input that much? I would like a screen protector, but i don't want my screen to feel like a touchscreen phone from 2007 If that's the case, i'm better of without one.
Well I like invisible shield by zagg 25 year guarantee, strange to begin with but works great with the pen had mine about a month and still looks good
I'm using the Martin Fields one. The protector is unnoticeable (if applied correctly) and the S-pen works really well. It's also highly resistant.
Well, here's the list of screen protectors I used so far :
-original Samsung;
-Cellularline anti-glare;
-3M Vikuiti.
I'm using the 3M for the moment... did spend about three times as much as on a Cellularline one, but oh well... I thought what the hell, everyone's talking about 3M Vikuiti and how good their screen protectors are... Well, IT SUCKS. Grease getting on the screen shield == funny rainbow colors if you look at it from any other angle than 90 degrees . Also, the "spot" is noticeable... the edges are untouched, but more to the middle of the screen, this sort of like grease splotch appears...
I'm going with MOMAX next time. They and Guardline always pleased me. In fact, everyone did... but 3M deserves a hanging.
-----
But as far as I know, no screen protector will impair your ability to use the S Pen. Hell, wrap your S Pen in a screen cleaning cloth... wrap it in five such cloths... then see if it works. I'm telling you : mine did work .

We don't have ZAGG here. The only place I saw them is iStyle, where specific case manufacturers include a ZAGG shield in their packages. At least, I saw one ZAGG shield in a case for the iPod Nano (yeah, that little yet expensive watch that can play music).
I've heard good & bad things about ZAGG... They stretch and revert to their original form (don't know how that is useful)... They tend to turn yellow/blue because over time... Oh well... I'm good with what we do have available here.
I'm curious about the warranty thing, though. Those ZAGG shields from the case I talked about above... the package said you've got life warranty, so you can always go to their store and ask for a replacement if your shield broke/got cut or anything... Their HQ = NOT IN ROMANIA, haha.
-----
For the record, I didn't buy that iPod Nano case to see the ZAGG shield inside. A friend of mine did... just because they were on super-mega-extra promotions, so he could sell them at 15x the price later .
Cool! I'll check 'em out. And correct me if i'm wrong. There are no screen protector applied to the Note when you unbox it the first time, right? I mean, there is nothing you should take off before applying a new one?

There is, I guess. But it's got drawings on it, so you can't miss it if there is one. Dunno... check unboxing videos on YouTube. I forgot if there is one , but if there it, you just can't miss it, drawings or not (it's probably gonna stick out on one corner or peel itself off if you put your phone in the pocket for multiple times).

That's not true.
The day I got my previous phone (Galaxy Nexus), I didn't throw a screen protector on it. I was gonna do that the day after, and until then, I treated the phone like it was king (kindly placed it down on a pillow or something soft). The next morning : huge scratch on the glass, thank God it was BELOW the screen.
Also, the phone I had before the Nexus : Galaxy S2. Somehow, two dots got "scratched onto" the screen. Like the glass got hit by keys or something. Same thing happened to the Desire...
So, better use a screen protector than to quietly weep later .
I the end I bought the housing cover. screensaver desmejoraba always dirty and note the appearance of

No. But you may never now when a grain of sand gets on the screen, you swipe it away and discover the damage some hours after...
Of course, there are exceptions. I think you are just lucky. Or perhaps the one in a thousand exception that can hammer screws down with his phone, while others smash even when gently bumped. It happens...

I know what you mean. I had pre-gorilla glass phones that got scratched if you breathed on them too heavily.
The Note is my second gorilla glass phone and my (dare I say) iPhone's screen it's still good as new. Which is quite handy as I will be selling it soon as there is no way I am going back from Android.

Otterbox?

Anyone heard news of otterbox for moto g?
Sent from my C6606 using xda app-developers app
On their homepage they list the defender ($49.95) and commuter ($34.95) series for the Moto G.
They're on sale from the official otterbox website and other ones, waiting for amazon but didn't check it yet.
Sorry for the late post, but through today Otterbox has a sale on their website for 20% off storewide with free Fedex smartpost and $5 2 day shipping. I bought 2 of the commuter series since I bought 2 Moto Gs and it came out to $65 2 day shipped with tax. Hopefully I'll have the cases before the phones. They seem a bit bulky from the pics, but until I receive both the phone and the case I guess there is no good way to tell for sure.
Got my defender. Top notch protection and quality .

Just got mine today, and here are images of mine--hopefully these work (I can't post outside links yet).
The screen protector it comes with doesn't cover the entire screen--one side is rounded, while the other end is flat, and it will leave roughly 1cm exposed after it's been applied. You can see a faint border in the second image where the protector stops if applied from the bottom edge. If you don't mind a muted receiver/speaker, reapplying it from the top edge will make the protector reach .5cm below the display from that end.
edit: Fixed images by making them attachments instead.
edit2: Discovered the screen protector was muting the speaker quite a bit, so I had to flip it back to the top.
edit3: Removed lilac warning; my monitor's too blue, though the lilac appears to be fine when viewing OtterBox's site from my phone.

The lilac case is also much, much redder than advertised; had I known this, I would've gotten black. With color correction, this is how bright the lilac really is (for anyone interested):

The images should be viewable now--sorry for the trouble (had to wait five minutes before I could submit the edited post).
I originally wanted to get black, as lighter colors dirty too easily for me too, but I opted for some contrast based off the website colors.
As htcvividnoob mentioned, the side buttons are harder to push down with the case on; as this is my first OtterBox case, I don't know how this compares to the Defender series. I personally found this to be a perk because I don't have to worry about bumping the buttons by accident anymore.

Heh, I'm still looking forward to the images others post of their 'boxes.
I found out today that my monitor may be the problem--it's too blue; the lilac was showing up as a deeper violet on this screen, while on my phone the colors look about right. I didn't think to look at the website from other devices, ack.

I haven't seen any and I don't think one is necessary. The display has a sapphire coating which if done correflty will hold up to anything you can throw at it. I have a sapphire Crystal on one of my mechanical watches and its never gotten scratched at all after a year of daily use.
Edit: I bought one just to test but I don't intend on using it long term. I'll let you know how it is.
Unlike the other Android Wear devices on the market, this one won't need it.
I would agree that this watch wouldn't need a screen protector, because of the sapphire crystal display. That being said...
You can scratch sapphire. You have to try really hard...but it is possible. I've done it on a mechanical watch of mine, and it drove me crazy...but a gemstone can scratch another gemstone.
THAT BEING SAID...I don't really know what good a screen protector would do with this face. Unless it's also made out of sapphire, what good would it do? OK...I'm being facetious (damn...had to Google that)...but you are also "talking" to a guy that HATES screen protectors. Like...A LOT...never had one on a phone, tablet, or watch that I've ever owned...

You can scratch sapphire, but you need a gem of equal or greater H rating. So unless you plan to throw the watch in a bag of saphhire crystals or diamonds, we should all be good.

Like I said...you have to try pretty hard to scratch sapphire...but it is easier than you think. If you or your SO have any diamond jewelry...that will do it. Also, any diamond tipped tools will also do it. It is possible...however unlikely in day to day living (minus the diamond jewelry part). And again...if something can scratch the sapphire, it sure as heck will go through whatever screen protector you would have on it...
So the screen protector I ordered from NewEgg by ilumshield or whatever the name was got canceled because they didn't ship it so I guess I'll try elsewhere.

Dont waste your time or money on a screen protector.
Ive had a mechnical now for 8 years with sapphire crystal, and I mountain bike, backpack, and white water kayak with the watch on,and not a speck. Screen looks brand new. The bezel is marked up a bit. If this is truly sapphire we are golden.
I want a protector that can protect again finger prints and smudges, not so much for scratch protection. I see a bunch of vertical and horizontal swipe marks on my watch...

I just got this today from Amazon, its a TGSP that's has 98% coverage on the glass its not quite perfect edge to edge. It feels nice and seems to resist finger prints more than the standard sapphire screen. Pictures will be posted below as well. The install was so easy it was a joke, quality seems good so far. You can also see my super awesome Nexus 6 in the reflection of the watch because I used it to take the pictures lol

You use your shirt? I tend to be in the safe side and always carry 1-2 microfiber cloth with me. I had tons of them that I bought for my DSLR and previous phones because smudges really bother me. I'll let you know how it works out; if I forget just quote me on here so I get a notification.
Just a little update the TGSP still shows smudges but not as much as the sapphire do now that's out of the bag
I got the same screen protector as above and removed it after a day. I found that the additional thickness of the glass protector on such a tightly manufactured face made a big difference. It reduced the already barely sufficient visibility in sunlight, provided a channel for dust and debris to gather on my watch face, and reduced clarity ever so slightly.
Nothing wrong with the actual protector, it just wasn't for me. I think I will probably have to go naked which I don't like because I'm not sure I would prefer a non glass protector.

Supershieldz is nearly identical. I'm still waiting for my iVoler screen protectors to arrive. Maybe they'll be wider.
@egren58 They've got a new version shipping Nov 7th. It is wider 1~1.5mm than the older one. Contact them through Amazon and let them know it's not satisfied and they will offer a refund or the newer wider version. They're correcting it and looks like they've got good customer support.

I got a perfect install and it still a hairline short.. from sides. This is not very well measure there is still plenty of room before the glass starts to curve on the phone.
I agree

Yeah...that's unacceptable. For crying out loud, the Pixel screen is not curved that much, if at all. I'm looking at my Pixel XL right now and I don't see any roundness at all. This screen looks flat to me. But all these screen protector companies are saying"because the Pixels screen is curved, we can't make a wider screen protector." I call shenanigans.

The screen has a slight beveled at the edge that starts ever so slightly back and for glass screen protectors this is a problem even though it doesn't look like it should be

The company YooTech which is probably the same as Pleason, is sending their version 2 protector to me. They said that it is slightly wider. When I get it, I'll try to remember to post pics.
When I remove the protector that I have applied now, I'm going to lay a straight edge across the screen because I can't see any slight curve. This screen looks to be flat as a pancake. [emoji1]

When you do lay it across long ways at the bottom or top so you get 3 of the edges
There is a slight curvature but it's still a good amount of distance from the edge of the display. You can see the curve when you hold the device in an angle and put it in direct light the reflection will show the angle. But there is still space to go wider.
I have a dial indicator at my work. I'll use it to see exactly how much of a curve we are dealing with. Not that it matters, I just want to see.

It's very minimal. The o e plus 3 had more and they managed to get some decent tempered covered the display and a bit more
I've had one of these ordered about 3 weeks ago from Pleson through Amazon. Said they shipped it 10/18, but they 'forgot' to provide a tracking number and can't find one now, but are sure it shipped. They were good about offering a refund, though. Of course, the original picture they were marketing it with - showing it with the Pixel XL - also showed the camera & speaker areas as cutouts, not whole sections cut to the edge, which was one reason I ordered theirs vs all the rest that look essentially identical.
I'm waiting on Intelliarmor's PRO glass - it's the only one that went essentially full edge-to-edge (less about 0.5mm) on my Nexus 6, which had similarly rounded edges.

Is it worth buying now (October 2018)?

Hey,
I'm looking for a new smartphone within 25k INR price budget.
Mix 2 is available for 23k rn and I wonder whether it would be a good idea to buy it or not? I want a daily driver for 2-3 years of use.
I'm a power user ( so gaming/perf, camera, sound, battery are important) and I keep my phones rooted so year old softwares isn't my concern if there are Oreo/Pie ROMs available.
I really like the design of the device, 6GB + 128GB is another benefit.
My doubts are about:-
1. Front Camera placement (is there any othwr way except rotating your phone around for selfies )
2. No headphone jack : This one seems most troublesome, but does the 3.5toTypeC adaptor solves that completely?
My other options are Asus Zenfone 5Z, Realme 2 Pro, Moto One Power or Nokia 7.1 Plus
Any help is greatly appreciated.
TIA
I highly recommend this phone, I upgraded to this from a MI5s and I'm very impressed by the screen and the battery life. If you take a lot of selfies it can be annoying to have to turn the phone around, but it's not really a big deal. If you try to take a selfie without turning it then you get a lot of chin in the pic, not a good angle! The USB C to 3.5mm adaptor works great, I've barely noticed the lack of headphone jack. Just leave the adaptor connected to your headphones and you won't even notice. The one downside to this over my previous phone is the glass, it seems to scratch very easily (I guess it isn't gorilla glass) and if you try to use a screen protector it looks bad because you can't have it go all the way to the edge (it is slightly curved around the edges). In a year's time I think the scratches will be quite obvious so keep that in mind.

It does have gorilla glass but it is coated with an oleophobic layer on top which is prone to scratches

Would you not consider pocophone F1? It's on the same price range as mix 2 but more powerful. It's not as good looking but still...

That's very interesting, I wonder if there is a way to remove that layer? It seems to pick up more fingerprints than my previous phone's too so I'm not really sure of the point of it.
The power difference between the mix 2 and the pocophone isn't going to be very noticeable unless you're playing intensive games, plus there's no notch on the mix 2 which is a huge bonus imo.
yes it is.got mine yesterday for 237 euros, global version brand new
The phone is WAY more impressive in real life than what you see on videos.
835 is still a beast.
I got mine last week. Also from eglobal. I'm super impressed with the phone. For 237euro this is a major beast.

I Have just ordered one from eGlobal the global edition 64gb 6gb ram, can you tell me does the phone come with a free case in the box ?
Also is there an screen protector fitted to the phone ?
Does the usb to audio adapter work for making calls etc? allowing use with regular none MI product headphones ?
It came indeed with a case. No screen protector. I've not used the dongle so i can't tell.

Thank you for your reply, did you order a screen protector? If so do you have a link or one that is recommended to use?
This is the one I ordered. 5D Full Protective Glass for Xiaomi MI MIX 2 6 8 SE 6X A1 A2 lite Redmi Note 4X 4 5 6 Pro 5A Prime 6A Screen Protector Film
https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/X3AIXHq
Brilliant looks good, I usually use PayPal for purchases from China , did you use credit card is it secure payment wise ?
Does the screen protector work along side a case ? Or would a case perhaps push off the screen protector?
Mine came with applied screenprotector and hardcase.
I have the global Version 64gb
Excellent , I am hoping for that it would come with a basic one applied already , I tend to just never remove the factory fitted screen protector if it is clear .

read above, there is no screen protector unless it was a box that was opened from the shop.
Mine from eglobal was sealed with no screen protector
The Screenprotektor was already attached to my mix2.
I had to remove a thin Foil
Advice please, my mi mix 2 arrived today.....but the factory fitted screen protector appears to have a strong blue tint (or similar colour) to it , is that correct ? or shoud it be completely clear ?
Mine came without screenprotector
