You are welcome .
If you don't mine add the fixed tag to the thread.

Friends, I'm not able to remove honor8pro watermark from the "watermark" menu item, could you please suggest where to disable it? The watermark setting under Mode allows me to add new watermark, but not able to disable the default Honor8Pro dual lens watermark.

Can't change camera resolution

I'm trying to change the camera resolution for still pix, but stuck on <5MP. Anyone know how to change the resolution?
Thanks.
Click the settings button then the three dots. To change up and down you need to click the < or > symbol
It's not <5MP, it is 5 the "<" is the button to change it if you want lower resolution.

This really confused me at first too. I was expecting it to be a drop-down.

Full screen display is activated when you change picture size to 6mp. Save as hdr mode is activated when you change the camera mode to hdr (rich tone), and iso is activated when you are in full auto mode.

Click on the mode button which is situated next to the camera shutter button, then you will get a list of modes to choose from, Auto, beauty face, etc etc. You can also download a couple more from Samsung appstore using this menu.
Hope this helps.

I found some hidden settings on stock 8.0 OS

I just installed activity launcher app and found some hidden settings on stock 8.0 OS!
Can 4k video recording be enabled in our Xperia X? and there is an option to display weather on lockscreen but how?
4K recording in native camera app can be enabled with Overlay, but the result is very dim with some white blotches. It's unusable. Try Open Camera if you really want 4K.

Any way to make screen scaling smaller?

I saw the phone in a store today and wanted to buy it. But got annoyed that the smallest screen scaling option is still bigger than my p20 pro and feels like a waste of screen real estate.
Does anyone know of a way to make things on screen look smaller without rooting?
connect to adb and use wm size option. whatever size you set make sure aspect ratio is same as original device. it works better than wm density.
It’s even simpler than that. There are adjustments in display as well the option in developer options to adjust dpi.

You can change the minimum width setting to a higher number in developer options but it will mess up the SystemUI a little. Certain apps will become too large. It also resets every time you restart the phone. Huawei needs to fix this. It's one of the worst things about EMUI.
try using wm size. it works perfectly.
apart from some apps, like camera. use tasker to reset back when using camera
Thank you so much Guys! Is there any difference at all between using minimum with in developer options, and using vm size in adb? Cheers

It really doesn't work any better than using the Minimum Width setting in developer options and like you said it even screws up the camera app.
I'm using 600 DPI and I have no problems. I wouldn't recommend going higher than 640 as you might get glitches.
Does anyone have a link on how to use that wm size setting?

Always on display

Does this phone have an always on display on lock screen , like mi 9 lite and other oled xiaomi devices
No. Its a LCD screen, not an AMOLED, so always on display is not possible.
When you turn of MIUI optimization in developers settings, you get two new options in settings, one of them is always on display but this is not working.. I dont why we have it.. but not working

What theme do you have
There is a flashable zip file in the forum somewhere that enables fully functional AOD but i would advice against it because the LED display will eat up your battery. Besides it doesn't even look good on anything other than AMOLED...
Also there are 3rd party apps on play store for AOD,fully functional, but they drain the battery pretty fast....

AOD does work, issue is it doesn't save power like on an LED panel because the entire LCD needs to be powered up whereas the LED panel can light up specific pixels.

But you mean that LCD display can then have the AOD? Then how to activate on the redmi note 8 pro?

I activated it on one of the GSI ROMs I tested but I don't see it as an option on the stock ROM.

Ok. That means it depends on the ROM and not on the type of display.
