Mi Max Prime losing Simtoolkit app after official Nougat update - Xiaomi Mi Max Questions & Answers

Hi, anybody have this problem after update of their Mi Max Prime from Marshmallow to Nougat? Noticed this bug after installation of the official OTA update to Nougat. Sim toolkit is very important because it contains many network options from the network service provider like roaming options, money transfer, and other value added services.
It's suddenly missing after nougat update. The only way to bring it back is to open the sim tray while the phone is on and then closing back the sim tray. The sim toolkit would then suddenly reappear. However, once you reboot the phone, it's gone again and you have to do the sim tray opening trick again to get the app back. Is there a way to correct this problem permanently? Xiaomi probably did not see this bug before they released the final nougat firmware update.

its present.

[Q] How to disable one sim card?

I am running the latest CM11-20150223-NIGHTLY-sprout. I move to configure sim cards then deactivate the sim-2. Deactivation is successful. But it continues to receive phone calls and messages even data too. Tried rebooting, factory reset and every other option I could. I found the same problem in the stock rom too. Is this specific to Android One or is a common problem across all Mediatek chips?

Deactivation doesn't work for me either however you could use multisim toggle app link- http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-multisim-toggle-t2830647 download and install the app.Do note that this app only disables sim 2 And you could enable it.Tested on micromax canvas a1 running CM 11

Sim's malfunctioning!!(HTC one m8)

I own Indian version of HTC one m8(single sim). I've been facing this problem from last 2-3 months, I've an internet plan on my prefered carrier but it always shows a caution(!) sign on the network viewer. Some of the applications work like whatsapp, facebook. And some of them works partially like hike, instagram. I've tried upgrading apps and upgrading the rom daily too, but still my problem continues.
I've installed the sim in other device and checked, its working perfectly. There is nothing wrong with my network provider.
Apps like gmail, playstore doesn't works at all.
cm-13.0-20160712-NIGHTLY-m8.zip -> The rom I last flashed[updated]
P.S.:: I'll try add some snaps later regarding my issue. I would be more than thankful to you if you would be able to resolve my problem. And one more thing I wan't getting this problem at the first time I installed this rom.
After this problem it shows me the new releases in cyanogenmod updater but I'm not able to update it through OTA. But I've updated it via recovery(manual update), and I'm using the rom release as I've mentioned above.

When you upgrade to Marshmallow...

I'm trying to get dialler funtionality on my Huawei M2 802L.
I now realised I ***** myself by manually upgrading to Marshmallow.
1.
Marshmallow removed the "Enable OEM Unlock" option.
2.
I can't update to this ROM: https://forum.xda-developers.com/me...-b207-android-6-0-marshmallow-emui-4-t3533572
In Settings -> Update -> Menu the "update locally" button is replaced by "Download latest full package".
3.
I can't find a Huawei M2 rollback package. Is there one?
What's my next move guys?
Update: I found the dial *#*#2846579#*#* trick to update thru SD card.
The problem is dialer is still down. I'm not sure how to verify the ROM install properly either.
Does anyone know an alternative way to do this: http://www.modaco.com/forums/topic/...enable-calls-on-your-vodafone-mediapad-m2-80/

Hello calLsOLoIsNOob,
Would you mind to specify what kind of issues you have with the dialer please ?
I bought my M2-801L tablet 6-8 months ago, updated it through various OTA updates until the last B208 one (if you need links check my post here -> https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=77201067&postcount=163 ), and never had issues of any kind with the stock dialler. I use it for daily basis calls (in and outgoing) with all features and advanced settings needed to have an optimized dialling module and HQ calls.
Indeed, what goes on Dev. options, "OEM Unlock" has disappeared from it, and agree with you it's a shame. Does the Huawei's Bootloader unlock might replace this function ?
What goes about rollback procedure, can't help much, never had to use it so far.
NB : My M2 8.0 model is EU one, don't know if there are any major differences with same model from other countries / continents / GSM Providers.
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Have a nice day.
Kind Regards.

Fingerprint Issues?

As the title states lately I have been having fingerprint issues. Setting up fingerprint to unlock my phone works perfectly with the phone itself. When it's comes to apps Chase, Cinemark , TMobile setting up fingerprint verification goes through correctly. Now opening the apps and using my fingerprint to verify does not unlock the app. Apps just keep telling me to put my assigned fingerprint in again. Anyone noticing issues lately? Is there any way to troubleshoot this? I have reflashed the OTA (8.1 Oreo - March update) multiple times- no change.
Running stock 8.1 Oreo March update
Any other suggestions?

I have not had any issues with apps that rely on / give the option of fingerprint authentication. I also have Chase installed and I just tested it and it works fine. I also have Amex, Bank of America, alarm.com, ADT Pulse and fingerprint access seems to be working fine on all of them. I am also running stock 8.1 Oreo / March update- but I am unlocked and rooted with Magisk. One suggestion based on some Fingerprint related struggles I had recently (when TWRP couldn't decrypt and I had to remove Fingerprint/pattern security during the update process and then add back after updating/rooting)....I found that some apps that had already had Fingerprint access enabled, didn't behave well when Fingerprints were removed then added back on the phone. The best workaround I found in those cases was to uninstall the app completely, fully setup Fingerprint security on the phone, then install the apps again. This definitely was the case with Amex, Chase, and Bank of America. Just something to try...good luck.
So using the OTA multiple times via fastboot wouldn't have cleared the apps?

Sideloading or taking the OTA natively doesn't typically wipe app data in my experience. Flashing the factory image (without removing the -w) would wipe your data (and most everything else)...but that creates alot of work in setting up your phone again. I found uninstalling the troublesome apps, setting up fingerprint security/pattern, then reinstalling and setting up the apps relying on fingerprints worked the best for me - but the situations are a bit different as my troubles always were related to adding new fingerprints to the phone and apps that had the "old" fingerprint information already....for me - uninstalling / reinstalling the apps solved my issue.. YMMV

Question After F.46, it's almost brick

my oppo reno6 5g phone is barely PEQM00, but i use it to CPH2251 in unfortune accident, so i don't have baseband and imei.
since i use A.11 which android 11, ota and update to C.36 perfect. but after i update to cph2251_11_F.46, firmware said "improves the stability of mobile network connections"
now it has many problem and didn't rollback because mtkclient doesn't find my phone.
1. quick panel is stuck. every functioin is broken. edit tile is not save, brightness is same, toggle is no response.
2. status bar is freeze. i realize it because clock is stop and wifi, airplane mod, mobile network(no sim) signal doesn't match.
3. if touch mobile network or advanced setting(*#*#4636#*#* or *#808#) it freeze few second and disappear, doesn't work.
4. anyother apps like telegram, whatsapp, other needs telephone feature doesn't work.
i can't use this phone completely, so if your phone is in android 12, Don't update it.
