[UPDATE] Camera blobs flasheable zip / with proper kernel - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) ROMs, Kernels, Recoveries, &

I will start saying that this was only possible, because an awesome teamwork of davidevinavil, CallmeSuper and SY (Dazzworld/Chen) .
All started with SY extracting the proprietary files needed for the camera, on the z2 pro.
As he made it, open the path to davidevinavil extract the files from z2 plus, and, CallMESuper making changes on the kernels to support the new blobs.
So, all the credits for this work, is to them.
If i said something wrong, please correct me.
Credits for this work: @davidevinavil @CallMESuper
Thanks for @DD3Boh for let me update his kernel to use with this blobs
Vendor Repo: https://github.com/davidevinavil/android_vendor_zuk_z2_plus
Kernel Source: https://github.com/DD3Boh/android_kernel_zuk_msm8996
(update zipfile and kernel - download attached to thread)
Just a simple zip flasheable on TWRP to update roms with the new blobs.
Must use a compatible kernel or will get FC's on camera app.
Compatible DarkMoon 004.1 LT added to the thread. Is just the regular DarkMoon, with new blobs support.
If you have some error on flashing or Fc´s on system, make sure you're using a TWRP v3+ and a compatible kernel too.
Made based on davidevinavil vendor repo, so you can thank him for the work

But to run the new camera blobs kernel support is required, thats why a kernel is also included in the zip otherwise there will be camera error.
If your rom is not updated recently or the OP hasn'rt mentioned about the new blobs in the thread than you can flash it. . If any thing goes wrong dirty flash the rom or its always better to have backup.
Note: Dont flash any other kernel which doesn't support the new camera blobs otherwise you will get camera error

That F1XY one must work, there's a thread of it here on XDA.

Can you please be more specific about what changes this zip will do?
New blobs of what?
What I should expect to change or improve?
Thanks...

You're right, i've made the thread as everyone will know what is about.
Will update it.
These blobs, in short, is stock camera on custom roms

Anyone tried this on latest AEX 11Aug build ?
Or....are we even required to flash this zip on it as the ROM/kernel already have the latest camera blobs(I think ?)..?

Installed it on latest jaguar rom, in combination with F1xy kernel perfecto.

Checked Dark-Nightmare github repo and its not looking to be builded based on the released kernel :/
Dudes, this builds introduces all the CM11 by armani-dev builds changes, included the kernel sources.
Can anyone try if it's completely working? It should be, try it and let me know, if something isn't working, please, provide me a changelog.
Regards.

Question: Im so far on the RC2, but cant update using the PAC-console. As it goes into basket root dir. Is that changed within the latest nightly builds? Anyway, im gonna flash it using the TWRP.

Try using TWRP for flashing the dev or the nightly build, try both if you can, then, let me know the result.

Bro Thanks for your effort keeping this ROM live...I flashed the ROM and it booted without issues...when I checked the kernel version it showed sep 22nd as date which means its not updated kernel source right? Also I tested couple of custom kernel with this ROM but stuck in mi.com screen...I will try the kernel compatibility patch and let you know how it goes...

For first you should know about port apps
For example
You ported miui camera
So you placed all uses-library and etc permission and lib files but app crashed
You should record logcat
You recorded logcat from crash
And logcat says problem is from java mainactivity xxx line 77
So you should decompile miui framework-res.apk and check what mainactivity xxx in line 77 have and add it in your framework of your rom
Thats it
And you can find many threads in xda for tutorial of how to port apps?

I have no Nougat currently, but I suggest to download by yourself :> Because counting on the others doesn't work too well.
http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
Anyway, if you're on Lollipop 5.1/5.1.1 on a 32bit ARMv7 device then I really recommend to port from lower API version and from the same architecture. Or maybe I don't understand something properly.

AEX 6.0 smooth in daily use blind poll

Hello, I need your opinion...
I will push here 2 different build of AEX and my question is pretty simply
What is more smooth in daily use?
version 1 or version 2?
Pay attention in UI animation, scrolling, open application....
DON'T CONSIDER GAMES LIKE PUBG OR OTHER ****.
DON'T CONSIDER BENCHMARK.
DON'T CHANGE KERNEL OR GPU DRIVER
Of course I don't tell about difference cause don't want you fall in placebo effect
Can only say that both have same update features like official ALPHA adn dd3boh kernel
No need to clean install, you can flash one, test for a while and then flash the other
After that make your vote

2. and then flashed --> AEX x, gapps, magisk..

This rom isn't released to the public yet and is still in beta. In order to get the beta you have to be approved/invited by the creator. Some devs don't like to publicly released betas and want a small controlled testing group. Be patient they will release it when it's ready.
As we can tell by the dearth of ROMs listed for the 20x, some/any is good news.
RR is particularly good given support and features.
It may be useful to share some requirements, device official build required, TWRP version....., etc.

Glad to see folks are working on roms for this device. Was wondering what additional features this rom would have? What "good" features of stock would we loose? Would the pen and notepad still work? Anyways, should be interesting...
It'll come very soon, be patient - testing has already been finished. I just have to find some time to rebuild the rom with the latest fixes and security patches
some informations:
rom will be installed via fastboot, requires a factory reset in stock recovery after installation.
It passes safetynet out of the box and also includes the stock huawei camera aswell as all gapps not available through the playstore.

As one of the testers I can say Resurrection Remix by @OldDroid is running fantastic already! Excellent work on it sir :good:
You guys won't be disappointed, RR is fast and stable. The wait will be worth it.
I think he must be using testers he knows. I did message him but he didn't get back to me. It's all good. I'm sure it'll be worth the wait. Hopefully in the meantime more people can get rooted.

How's the camera performance? Pictures come out nice and crisp making use of the 3 cameras?
I hope the proprietary blobs are used as one of the key things that makes this phone great is it's camera.

The default camera is baked in the rom, pictures look just as the would on EMUI.

Turilo is correct. Two of my friends both got Mate 20 X's (L29's) yesterday and we compared the camera (they're both on stock .192) and it's exactly the same on RR as it is on stock.

Everything I read is that all rr releases don't have gapps pre-installed. Is this rom going to be an unofficial release not supported by rr team?
