Resurrection Remix Encryption - Lenovo ZUK Z2 (Plus) Questions & Answers

Hi, I recently installed resurrection remix(latest nougat) in my lenovo z2 plus and i am thinking adding another layer of security with phone encryption, i've seen in forums asking about encryption with rooted phones. here are my questions
1. Can i encrypt without unrooting my device
2. If there is a solution without unrooting. is it leading to any problems
Thanks in advance....

As I know, custom ROMs have a problem with encryption. Jaguar ROM have fully working encryption.

[Solved] Home button working only on Oxygen OS

hi,
I was on Resurrection Remix with Elementalx kernel and everything was working fine, there were no bugs. But i accidentally encrypted my device so i had to completely wipe it. After wiping it, i installed Freedom OS 1.6 (which is based on Oxygen OS) but dint like it so i decided to use multirom, move freedom os to a secondary slot and install Paranoid Android as a Primary rom. But when i booted into PA, i did the initial setup and realized that the home button just wasn't working and there wasn't an option to add a fingerprint as well. I tried installing Resurrection Remix and Pac Rom as both primary and secondary roms but they also dint recognize the home button and the fingerprint sensor. I am sure that this is not a hardware issue because it still works fine in Freedom OS
Thanks in advance :good:
make sure which firmware you are using. Some custom roms like Cm13 for example are not working with Firmware higher that 3.2.4, I think this will be issue, so flash 3.2.4 firmware with twrp and your fingerprint will be back!
but if i flash Oxygen OS then my phone will get encrypted again right?
so is there a way to flash Oxygen OS without getting encrypted?
As slg60 already said, you need the appropriate firmware for each ROM and afaik encryption is enabled by default in all 6.0+ ROMs and I don't know why'd want to turn that off.
I flashed Freedom OS 1.4.4 which is based on Oxygen OS 3.2.4 and does not force encryption, wiped data and then flashed AOSPA and its working fine! Thanks for the help!
i wanted to disable encryption as multirom doesn't support encrypted devices.... and Oxygen OS is the only rom that i have used that forces encryption....

install a stock based ROM(6.0) after ResurrectionRemix (7.1.2)

Hi guys,
as I said in the title I have flashed the Resurrection remix on my zuk z2. The rom is great but the camera is just bad. I would like to install a stock rom like the francko86 or similar, but I wonder if there'll be any problems due to the different android version. In fact, when I installed the RR I previously had flashed the Stock nougat rom with no gapps. Do you have any similar experience or knowledge that can help me out?
Thanks a lot for your time

You have to go back to 6.0 first.
Best way to do so is flashing Stock 6.0 via QFIL.
So you have to unlock the Bootloader again and stuff.

No verity for OnePlus 3 on Resurrection Remix

I've been searching for the no verity for One Plus 3 and can't find it for custom rom users, only for OOS, can someone help me about that or is the no-verity only for OOS users?
Thanks.

Here you can find the fix:

It doesn't matter that you are on RR!

OOS has forced encryption whereas aosp and lineage based ROMs do not. You do not need to worry about encryption or verity on an aosp ROM like RR, especially if you choose to flash root as well

Android 9 on moto z2 play?

I'm looking for ROM with Android 9 pie for moto z2 play device I tried several methods by GSI I tried the KVT and tried all but no ROMs like Lineage OS and mokee OS, resurrection remix OS and other ROMs work fine but the method by GSI gave fail and all say that date is corrupted wanted to know if it has any ROM available with Android 9 need help installing a GSI on the device someone from the forum can help me.
first of all, you already have bootloader unlocked, from there on out it's simple, just have TWRP recovery, make wipes, then install rom android 8.1 with treble support, after this install img of rom android nine GSI you can try havoc 2.0 and ready, if something comes out more nothing but indicate us in which part you are staying to know how to help you..!!
I did all the processes for an image of GSI system through the ceiling I installed a ROM treble but when r6 to start the device it does not start and I tried to use the base KVT but the device starts giving error in the data system that says to be corrupted or encrypted but it's not
does anyone have any ROM with Android 9.0 running that can pass the rom link or some more effective method to install Android 9.0 on the device
Why did you create so may threads asking for the same thing?
