NPN25.137.43-5 Update (RETUS/Verizon) - Moto G5 Plus Guides, News, & Discussion

Here is the NPN25-137-43-5 OTA for Verizon and Verizon MVNO user's. It supposedly fixes VoLTE and call quality issues. I have yet to verify this due to being rooted and need to create a flashable TWRP zip. It's available for download here if you haven't received it.
Can anyone confirm that it's fixed the call quality/VoLTE issue?
Thanks in advance.

I got the update yesterday and can confirm that my call quality is just fine. No problems here.

It's an OTA update. Not flashable unless ADB sideloaded or flashed with RSDlite. You have to be stock to use this OTA update. I thought it was pretty clear that I was just offering the OTA to those who have yet to receive it.
Hope that helps...

Thanks.
I really regret my foray into trying to root my phone. I didn't realize how complicated this all is and all this jargon is like Greek to me.
My phone seems to be stuck in limbo where it is neither rooted nor non-rooted.

Flashable ZIP?

Haven't had time to edit the zip and test it. Tried using the guide posted for removal of lines from the updater script on my phone and it didn't work. Semester starts tomorrow... You also need stock boot.img and stock system.img (possible not with Magisk users) in order to flash.
The guide is posted here.

This has been the longest 12 hours of my life.

OK, so question.. I just rolled my XT1687 back to stock Android 7.0 (NPN25.137-83) with the initial goal of fixing the VoLTE issue in Verizon. But now, before I even confirm, I see the firmware version fix is NPN25.137.43-5. Does this mean that '83' has the fix of '43' rolled in ??

[OTA] [XT1064] Blur_Version.21.11.23.titan_retuaws.retuaws.en.US. zip

This OTA will upgrade your phone to Android 5.0.1 and bring your version up to 22.21.25
You will need a STOCK phone. STOCK recovery. Your version will need to be 21.11.23.
Release notes: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/102639
Captured the OTA today from /cache using adb pull method.
My phone is the US AWS version unlocked from Motorola.
Google Drive Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwsiWWvGFo4TZ2RpV1R5LW9zd2s/view
Successfully flashed on multiple phones.
I suppose the title of the thread should say version 22.21.25, i'm not sure how to edit the thread title.
You got this ota from 22.11.6?
---------- Post added at 11:36 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:34 PM ----------
Wow this is the .23 ota
Yeah. This is the one everyone is needing i think.
Awesome! This is indeed the one that I've been waiting for- wanted to update these XT1064s before wrapping them up as gifts (less confusion over UI if they start out at Lollipop). Just successfully updated one of them, the rest should go smoothly as well.
The irony is that on the one I was tinkering with to try to downgrade/force the OTA now has the .17 recovery and build fingerprint and rejected this update. Not a big deal, I think I know how to recover it.
Thanks again who_ohw for the OTA!

Can't download.. Just lists all that's in the update zip but no download option can you post another download link?

You will have to do so from a PC probably. You might be able to do so with certain browsers and request desktop version in the options.
Is this supposed to be a flashable zip? I got 'error executing updater binary in zip'. This is using TWRP 2.8.3.0
You need to be stock. Recovery, kernel, everything. No root.

Confirmed, you can use chrome on you phone, go to the link, go to the three dots in upper right for options, scroll down, make sure request desktop site is checked, refresh browser. There's some odd scaling issues but you should see another 3 dot menu INSIDE the browser, click this, there is a download button.

There are a few threads on how to do this, but this is the most recent that comes to mind. You do not need to unlock bootloader or return to stock if you are.... stock... obviously. Start at step 3.

Forgive my ignorance re: this phone, I have a nexus 6, is there a reason this ota could not be made into a flashable zip that doesn't require everything to be stock?

I don't know. I think so, but I dont have time to figure it out. Holidays and all. You might check out Kennys thread here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/development/rom-stock-rom-t2970427
He's made a flashable zip out of an OTA I think.
I guess if I was on 21.11.23, then I could try this. But I'm on 22.11.6 and it doesn't work. Guess I'm still playing the waiting game.
Thank you for the OTA. Was able to flash using stock recovery over 4.4.4. Took about 20-25 minutes to install and about 5 minutes to clear cache. First boot took a few more minutes. So far running great.

[Q] Has anyone captured the latest OTA for our device for sideloading?

I am talking about the OTA mentioned here http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-820/help/update-308mb-t2990837. My friend not able to access wifi and has limited data so I was thinking of sideloading it but I am not able to find any zip for it. Can someone link me to it or share their zip if they have got the OTA?
Edit: I am interested in 1.22.720.1 one for desire 820

xposed runtime for Marshmallow update?

Is there an xposed runtime .zip or whatever for the marshmallow update to Sprint s6 to be able to use xposed modules?
I still have:
xposed-v80.0-sdk22-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160211.zip
Which worked on LP, but I don't want to flash it and mess up the phone if it's not supposed to be for this version.

There's a marshmallow version of xposed in the original thread, however, we don't have twrp yet. There's no way to flash a zip without that, at least that I know of. I'm sure we won't be waiting too long for twrp though.
Should same mm version work?

Flashfire works to flash xposed with. You will want the sdk23 version that is made for MM though.

No, that is from the official xposed thread, not the one for Samsung phones. This thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3180960
xposed-v80.0-sdk23-arm64-custom-build-by-wanam-20160211.zip is the file you want to download.

I've gotten a full day of heavy use with a custom ROM, I didn't make it to 5pm today. I had greenify and amplify working on the custom rom though, so hopefully now that we have recovery, I can test out xposed and get some of those things back. This was my first Samsung phone, I'm not sure I'd go to the S7 after this experience. I came from a phone that easily got 1.5 days on a charge.

I can't get this working correctly.
I installed flashfire and flash the zip and let it keep the option to mount system read/write, and i see it unpacking files, and then the screen goes blank and eventually i have to force it to reboot.
After reboot, xposed apk says it's not installed.
Is there some other way to flash the zip?

You used flashfire? That won't do it for me. After extracting, goes to a black screen and I have to force a reboot, then xposed afterwards says it's not installed.
Worked just fine for me. For multiple different files. V4a, xposed, and a couple other things.
Screenshots added for exact settings I used.
Flashfire takes a few minutes to load once it does all that unpacking. My suggestion would be to be patient before forcing a reboot.

Thanks. I notice you have SM-G925P?
Does it matter that I have G-920P?
After it does the "loading..." showing the unloading and all the files extracting, the screen goes black, and it's unresponsive. Even after 10 minutes.

That's odd, I wouldn't figure there'd be that much of a difference between the flat and edge model that flashfire would work for me and not for you.

You should flash back to stock and update. Cannot install OTA over a rooted rom I believe.
However, I came from Paranoid Android and followed the advice here, and it worked perfectly. Was able to keep root and TWRP.

currently on CM13.1 nightly I'm going to follow what you did. Hope it will work
I was rooted I use this post, and the is a link in that thread to the actual zip your will need, and also you must have the updated TWRP as well. All the information is in that thread. but that is literally it.
Download update zip
Download Flashfire
download new TWRP
Back up you crap ( will not wipe SD card unless you tell it to )
Run FlashFire, set setting correctly
run it, you will already be rooted when done
set dev mode
re-flash new TWRP
PROFIT
Did you get the option "Restore boot and recovery images" when setting Flash OTA zip? I just got Auto mount and Mount /system read/write.

If you have Xposed just get Android N-ify and it's just like having 7.0
Anyone updated from DP5 / systemless root / TWRP?
And flashed zip for adaway to work.
What are the steps to update with ota zip?
Yes and everything is ok. Follow the steps carm01 suggests some post above. Its easy and at least for me everything worked. After fisrt boot you can go to TWRP and flash everything else you need.
