v29A [keeps TWRP and LAF on flash] from @steadfasterX
Below is the bootloader and modem only flashable zip20p bootloader stack with 29A modem
**This is not a ROM. This is the whole firmware upgrade to v29A , untouched, coming directly from LG.
I made this flashable file as an alternative to the v29A KDZ that we never got.
Installation procedure:
This is a Full OS Upgrade for all of us coming from MM.
>> Clean Flash << when coming from MM or from Lineage|AOSP based roms !
- Reboot to TWRP
- Advance Wipe -> /data , dalvik-cache, /cache
- Install Nougat
- Reboot.
its absolutely crucial to take your time and backup with either the latest TWRP BETA release
or the DLM Backup method or even both for the paranoid ones
Many thanks to the member
@keriox who shared the files with us.

Those who suffer from bootloop issues due to big cpu cores,
flash this kernel in TWRP.
It will disable big cores , also it has some bugs fixed.

The scripts attached are removed, use adiutor to manage the settings the way you like them.

Great , thanks @kessaras and @keriox :good:

Great job congrats.

Launcher same....
Use mine Ux6 home port....

do you have the baseband unknown when flashing this?. Flashed the files manually from the dump (boot and system) and I have this baseband unknown thingy.

Yes I was also reporting about that, unknown baseband but it still works fine!
Anyway, for the people who flashed manually the files, can we continue like that or is it better to flash the ROM as a simple package?

Nope, it works for me , with cosmote and with vodafone. checked both carriers. Maybe the default.prop of the stock recovery has some lines that modem needs or the aboot has some lock for the modem. We will know after our TWRP dev finishes his checks.

people who flashed it manually they can dirty flash it.
In the code i didn't add any wipe or format command.
So if you are coming from MM or from lineage/aosp build , wipe , data,dalvik-cache and cache manually in advance wipe menu of twrp before flashing this.
This will flash all the partitions as if you flash the kdz, the only difference is that you will need to wipe manually. TWRP will be replaced with the stock recovery too.
This is the best since we jump to a newer OS version !
And afterwards IF twrp support it we can go to bootloader and fastboot flash twrp again.
Wiping is a "must do" when jumping to a newer OS mate !
Use LG Backup or if you are certain that Google has backed them all up just wipe and flash and restore everything afterwards using the google setup on 1st boot.

Sorry if I didn't understand correctly. Thanks for your work, can't wait for custom ROMs

yes this will flash all the partitions.
you will lose twrp but after you boot and make sure everything works , you can go to bootloader and flash twrp again.
We still are not sure if the current twrp will have any bug. our steadfasterx is looking at the matter. he will propably check, compare files and do his part.
our part is to be careful.
So yes you can dirty flash.
if something doesn't work, you can clean flash too. (stock recovery too can wipe data.)
you can go to bootloader and flash twrp again too.
Lastly you can also open the zip and delete the recovery.bin if you want to avoid flashing the stock.
Me i had to provide this as it is cause its our alternative to the kdz we don't have

Ok I have another question for you.
I'm no expert, so let's see: why are these 4 apps disabled?

How stable is it? Any bugs yet?

I would go back just to try,but it doesnt seem i can lol My phone is crossflashed with the K model,so it returns an error everytime i try to flash it with the flashtool or the Lg firmware update program (im trying the recovery method now from the Lg update program, but it takes time to download the firm). The only sure thing is,that F320K 4.4 beta works with the F320S model without any problems. But the downside (for now) is that you might not be able to go back until 4.4 is rooted...

Just to let you know had to flash the extra boot.img to get the @UltraGamerHD build working. Has booted up now :highfive:
edit: Yay the camera does indeed work!!! Cannot test the quality all that well for now. I do seem to have a home button bug. It won't return the phone back to the home menu. Will mess around.
edit2: Not an issue with the rom. Seems the Gapps package I installed screwed up home button.

Is the Design-Manager working on UltraGamers build? It isn't on mac's build.
Really stable so far! Only found one major bug, brightness doesn't work (nothing changes with slider). Dunno if it is easy fixed or a sensor problem. Great work devs!

Welcome to the new unlocked bootloader warning advice in Nougat.
Rom will boot fine.
What version of TWRP do you have? Flash again lastest version by fastboot.

[ROM][8.0.0] MIUI 9 GLOBAL Beta Rom 8.2.1 based on Oreo [scorpio][02.03.2018]

This is a beta rom so as the name implies you may encounter various problems/bugs.
Fastboot (unlocked bootloader)(erases all your internal storage):
http://bigota.d.miui.com/8.3.1/scor....1_20180301.0000.00_8.0_global_7127f41234.tgz
Recovery (TWRP and unlocked bootloader)(full wipe highly recommended):
http://bigota.d.miui.com/8.3.1/miui_MINote2Global_8.3.1_74f30a299a_8.0.zip
The update has been suspended at the moment but download links are still working... Anyway you flash the packages at your own risk, I don't assume any responsibilities for any bricked or exploded devices! This is only for sharing purposes!
Thank I very much for sharing
Thank you!
Thank you! But download from this server is a pain... could you upload it to another site?

Hmmm, the mentioned version is basing on nougat 7.0... would be interesting to see if it is really basing on oreo

If you updated through OTA or you downloaded from the miui forum you will have the nougat one. There are two versions of the 8.3.2 build: one is nougat and the other (the one I posted) is oreo

Nothing at the moment
I was reading some comments of the OTA bricking phones... Are you having any problem so far?
---------- Post added at 08:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:01 PM ----------
I wonder if we can use this: http://bigota.d.miui.com/8.3.1/miui_MINote2Global_8.3.1_74f30a299a_8.0.zip
I think it's the right file... But maybe right beta privileges are needed?

Well if you like risking a hard brick you can download that file, rename it update.zip and put it in the folder downloaded_rom. Then go to the miui updater app and it should see it as an update and the installation will start. The problem is that if you are on locked bootloader without TWRP and the flash goes wrong you can throw away your phone...

No risk, no fun... I used the option in the updater and it doesn't allow me to install it. Probably because I need special privileges... In any case, these are excellent news for custom ROMs
Edit: previous to the installation of the .ZIP it asks me to be connected to the internet... It can't be connected without being connected to the internet. So definitely they check if the user is allowed to install it.
Anyways. Anyone using the ROM can give some feedback, please?
Installed by twrp and running perfect ... for now no failure
routed with magisk 16.0
So installed last TWRP, wiped all data and storage for decryption, all went ok, inastalled oreo beta rom and magisc 16, during booting phone first get encrypted again and then rom boots up. Restarting back to TWRP is asking for password again to decrypt phone. So because of that I get back to nougat and TWRP 3.1.1.0 because that is only one that is not asking password. So please help and inlight me what I was doing wrong.

You have to be in the Beta Team to install those packages with the updater app. The method the Super Moderator recommended me is fastboot because it's an android version update. The ROM worked fine in the first day , no important bug that can prevent it to be a daily driver.

It was, but this update just came out...
so, is it possible to do the update directly from the base firmware version came out of the box or do we need to be on a specific version??
btw, if another update comes out? how do we keep the root and update? do we need another rooted boot file or is there any other method?

Yes, you can go straight to this version without the need to flash previous versions. Have you checked that your device is WW, fingerprint and all? If not, install device info hw from the playstore and under system it will show rom, product id and fingerprint, if they're all WW then you are good to go...
Yes, regarding root, if or when another update comes out, you need to wait until the rooted boot is released too, Flash it as per op

I managed to update from 1908.12 to 1908.21 and maintain root by following the guide mentioned in https://forum.xda-developers.com/rog-phone-2/how-to/update-root-t3977143 so I don't think it's required to flash the boot image each time.

only reason i recommended to flash boot is because i tried to update root using this method on one version and it left my device unbootable, on another it just would update, kept saying download failed or something, so i avoid saying about it.
incidentally, from .12 to .21 did you use the ota method, or direct install (recommended)? i couldn't get it to go...

I used the OTA method and it luckily worked!
Btw the links in the OP are not working for me. It's giving an error that file is currently not available.

Thanks[emoji12][emoji106].
For those who are already rooted it is not necessary to put the root image by adb, simply from magisk before restarting the device you go back, you get into magisk and give it to install, you choose the option of ota and voila.
