Light Sensor Problem

Hey Guys,
is there a possibility to wide the light sensor range. If i compare my Desire with iphone, which ever, in complete darkness the iphone is more friendly to read. It´s near without backlight, my desire looks like a fog lamp
Would be great to change the operate parameters of the light sensor, does somebody know an app or ist there a rom, with sense, which providing this feature??
Thanks for great wory guys,
regrads andi
I have the same problem, but I just use the app called "Dimmer (Night mode)" from market.
It's not as elegant as having the auto brightness turn it all the way down, but it works.
It switches between lowest brightness and the brightness you had selected before.
yes, i know this app, but as you say not so cofortable...
anybody another idea?
thanks!

Show time only when OLED screen is off?

One of the cool features I like from the Nokia N9 with Maemo is that when you turn off the screen, only the time shows, since the organic LED screen is capable of illuminating individual pixels.
Has anyone else done something familiar with the Nexus?
Noled has an option to always display the time, sounds like it's exactly what you want.
Any other options, app did not work for me

[Q] Set Default Dim to 50%

I have the opposite issue from most users that want the screen to dim very low. I am using the Galaxy Tab S as a kiosk and would like the default dim level to only go to 50 or 60%.
This seems like it should be a simple change of a file but I can't find anything that will help (No app or Google search). I looked in the Build.prop this was not in the file ro.lcd_min_brightness so I added it but it did not help.
I have not found a app that will help me set the minimum dim level they all need to be done by a button push I need this to be automatic.
As a kiosk the display will dim to 50% then when a user touches the screen the screen will go to 100% after 10 minutes it will dim back down again to 50%.
Thank you
Raymond
The device:
Samsung Galaxy Tab S
CyanogenMod 11-2015101-Unoffical-nvertigo-changallwifi
Android Version 4.4.4
Kernel version
3.4.105-nvertig0
Xposed Module
Would the Xposed Module work to dim the screen to 50%?
I found this module Sense 6 Lockscreen Mods [KK] which talks about "Adjust Background Dimming"
Thanks
You might be better off with an lcd display, an oled display is not really suited to 100% brightness for 10 minutes numerous times a day, even if the rest of the time it is at 50%, you card just asking for burn-in damage.

These are the unites we have on hand. I also have an attract screen so burn-in should not be too bad we had to deal with burn-in for years with the old style monitors. I need to lower the display screen to 50% because if it stays at 100% the unit gets too hot and the battery does not charges because heat is causing higher resistance.
Is there any way to set the minimum dim level? would Xposed work using the module Sense 6 Lockscreen Mod? I have been looking and can't seem to find the file(s) that set the minimum dim level.
Thank you
It`s a pity somebody could not make an app for you, try some android app write software, with millions of android apps out there it must be relatively easy to make them.
But keeping the tablet awake and the brightness at 50% until somebody touches the screen then boosting the brightness to 100% and keep the screen on till, no touches have been reported for the next 10 minutes and then reduce the screen brightness back to 50% and wait for the next input.

The brightness issue is the last thing I need to get working. I have an app that puts the tablet at fullscreen with no access to the systems nav and I have an app that will keep the screen on and will allow the system to go to sleep (set time in the sytems settings) but when it goes to sleep the dim is too dark and the tablet looks like it is off. All apps that I have found do not adjust the tablet minimum setting, thel y are all activated by some type of manual input.
Again any help or pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry but i am a bit brainless when it comes to things like that.
But i do have some advice, ask for an generic android app that will do what you want, not in the Samsung section, but in the general xda software/app development section wherever that is but their must be one, have a look though the xda main forum section, pm a mod and ask for directions.
The more specific to an brand and model the less help you will get, you want an general android app, that works on anything, not something that only works on the Samsung Tab S
Good Luck

Adjust ambient display brightness?

Is there a way to brighten the ambient display, such as the clock and notifications that appear? I can barely see it in the sun. I had no problem seeing my moto z play in the sun.

If you go into settings / display there is a brightness slider that you can use to manually set the screen at a brighter level. I'm not sure if that recalibrates the base Android uses in its ambient settings or not. If you just are used to a brighter screen and find that the ambient setting continues to make the screen dimmer than you like after using the slider you can just turn the ambient display feature off entirely. I personally like the feature but a lot of people don't and just turn it off.
There are also apps in the Play Store that allow you to manually adjust the screen brightness without going into the settings menu, if you want to have easier control over it.

I know that the AOKP ROM allows alot of modifications to the ambient display brightness settings. Other ROMs may do the same but I know and use the settings on AOKP. It's a very good ROM! Native settings don't have the options.
AOKP and Pixel Dust are the two roms I know of that have this option.
You don't need a ROM to kick in higher brightness on auto brightness.
Just root and install ElementalX kernel or one based on it.
Then install this widget and once toggled, it will give you way more max brightness on auto brightness.

I noticed that my wife's phone has significantly brighter ambient display. They have identical settings as far as I can tell. So I'm not sure but I would love to find out the answer cause I want mine brighter too
Go to advanced display settings and toggle off the option to wake the screen with new notifications, then turn off the lift to view gesture. Your ambient display should brighten significantly.

Always on AMOLED app

I'm using an app called Always on AMOLED/Edge Lighting by newGen Mobile and it's pretty cool. It has an always on clock and edge lighting (weird considering the name ) that lights when an alert comes in (email, etc.). The edge alert is great since there is no LED. The free app is pretty good, but there are a lot more options with the paid app - for $2 it's worth it. Battery drain is very low too, but I use all white text on the clock face - color will drain it faster.
I'm not the developer or represent them in any way, just a satisfied customer.
Awesome thanks.
I dl this app the first or second day I got the phone and immediately deleted it cause of the battery drain on my device was ridiculous is the battery drain fixed??
If you're rooted try substratum app and the aod enabler theme in the play store.
