Bluetooth? - Xiaomi Mi 6 Questions & Answers

I love the phone but.... There is ALWAYS something or other that doesn't work the way it's supposed to.
Bluetooth is a pain in the b+*#!
I have never been able to get it to work consistently. WiFi cuts in and out when it wants to etc.
It's a great phone but for international it is several steps behind the OnePlus.
Anyone else having trouble?

Yeah. When I use Bluetooth wifi has some issues. I had this also with previous xiaomi phone.
Sad that they've put such a low quality wifi-Bluetooth module into a flagship smartphone.

galaxy note 2 and bluetooth car stereo

im trying to purchase a car stereo that has bluetooth hands free calling and is able to play music streamed from my galaxy note 2.
the salesman said however, that he cant guarantee any of the stereo units would work correctly with the bluetooth 4.0 that the note 2 uses.
...has anyone had any problems connecting to their car stereo, or can recommend a model that will work with the note 2 ?
thanks in advance.
I have a JVC navigation all in one and it works great with it.
It's a 2011 model.
yup, i have a flip screen with bluetooth and it connects perfectly, i have a full system btw, woofer, speekers amp the lot.
thanks guys .. any links for those models if possible?
If you want something literally cheap as chips, try one of these from Halfords.
I know it won't appeal to an audiophile, but if you're the sort of person who's generally happy with the manufacturer supplied head units, one of these would be a more than adequate replacement, and works fine with the Note II.
Regards,
Dave
bluetooth 4.0 is backward compatibility with all the older versions. So it works !!!!!!!!!!! No problem watsoever. The car salesman should get his facts straight or quit the job
Kenwood has problems
I have a DNX7190HD and the Note 2 will not work with the Pandora app at all through bluetooth. It will play Pandora through the Bluetooth menu option of the head unit but you will not get any song list or album art, but pause and play buttons do work.
Kenwood says the phone is not supported and there is no bluetooth software update coming.
Older Android phones work perfectly.

yes , it was something on those lines that my dealer was saying, and therefor couldnt guarantee any of the other makes would work untill he got some feedback.
As far as audio goes, you should be fine, as m4sta2k stated bt4.0 is backwards compatible. I have a Parrot MKi9000 handsfree installed (old one) and everything works, audio and controls. But, maybe on some radios not all the controls are supported (and also, whichever display functions it may have), as it seems that stuff is not 100% standard across all the bt devices, as opposed to audio profiles.
Best thing would be trying the radio on the store before buying it.

To be honest, I've not really noticed or cared much as I'm usually streaming from Spotify and thus have the phone screen on and can see what's playing there.

i agree with you , it connects everything perfectly.
but instead of a track listing on the headunit screen i just see AD2P ... its no big deal but if im missing a button press or something that shows the track info instead i would prefer to see it.
what does yours show when streaming from bluetooth / note 2 ?

Was in the car today.
Like you, it only shows A2DP on the screen and not the track. Tried with both Spotify and Google Music.
My other three BT speaker devices (2 headsets and some speakers) don't have screens so I can't say if it's the headunit or the phone.
Luckily, I don't care!

Sony XAV-601BT - Anyone Try it?

Hey all,
Anyone try the Sony XAV-601BT with the Galaxy S3 yet? I know it supposedly works, but was wondering if any of you had actual experience with it. Sounds like a dream come true. I don't think I'd even use the full mirror link capability but just knowing its there would be really cool, and mainly I'd be after all the controls available... Play music through my phone via Bluetooth, play CDs, XM, hook my phone in via USB to charge (free up my cigarette lighter adapter). Make calls via bluetooth. Seems to be a serious all in one situation, and the added mirroring would be great.

It's not a "dream come true" yet. It's a toy for geeks. I just got it and it seems like it might be a source of frustration. My wife has the S3 and I have the Note 2. We'll see how it works out. So far I have my suspicions that my wife will be in FM or CD mode most of the time. We'll see if she does Pandora at all, and I'm hopeful that she will actually use the phone. But mirrorlink/drivelink has already been proven to be buggy for me on day 1. Sometimes it works.. sometimes it requires a reboot. Not exactly a dream if you're on the road. I'll keep you updated though. So far I can't find a 2013 firmware update.
I looked at this head unit for a while but ended up going with the Pioneer Appradio 2 (SPH-DA100) and love it so far. Look into it and the app ARLiberator. It is a pretty slick combo. I got a great deal on it at Best Buy (open box) for $235. The only extra thing you need is a set of cables to plug into the back if you don't get the pioneer set.

Trying to connect from 1 S3 to 2 bluetooth speakers

I've done a search on these boards as well as web searches. Thought maybe you all could help me out here.
This isn't necessarily only S3 related, but since I'm connecting my S3 I figured this might be the right place to post my question.
I am using an S3 stock android 4.3 -Sprint (I know, I know... haven't rooted) and have purchased a Harman Kardon Onyx Bluetooth speaker. I'm extremely impressed with the sound of the speaker and want to get a second one, however I don't know if there is a way to send Bluetooth signal from one audio source (my S3) to two Bluetooth speakers at once. Not necessarily looking to get 'stereo' sound, but the ability to play the same audio in 2 rooms or on 2 speakers at the same time would be great.
Anyway, the only impractical solution I found is for the Note3 - basically you need 2 Note3's and then sync them to each other via an app and send each to one of the 2 speakers streaming the same audio. Not really what I was looking for...and I don't own a Note3, let alone 2 of them.
I do have a Gal Tab2 and Gal Tab 7510, but I'd like to be able to send from my handset if possible.
Any ideas? Maybe an app? Even creative ideas like a separate unit that will take the Bluetooth signal and split it to 2? Not ideal unless it's a small battery powered unit, but worth a shot. I'm open to ideas...
Thanks in advance!
Rick

H815 and Bluetooth Audio (AVRCP)

Hey, my test unit doesn't seem to work with AVRCP, and the BT sound quality is pretty compressed, especially compared to my Nexus 6.
Several people have said to go into the hidden settings menu when they had problems with their G3, but I don't know the code. Any thoughts?
Stock build on 5.1, build number LMY47D.

well after search about what hidden menu is i have no idea but i know how to enter it
AT&T: 3845#*modelnumber#
Sprint: 5689#*modelnumber#
T-Mobile: 3845#*modelnumber#
International Models: 3845#*modelnumber#
so instead of model number you should enter 815 i guess..
dont know if it helped you in anyway but...
Sadly nope, those didn't work. Thanks tho!
Any other suggestions, y'all?

According to GSMArena and LG's website, yes. It won't let me post the link tho.
Any way to check on the phone itself?
Bump! Anyone?
Hey All,
I've been working with Xyro TR1 on the issue and it has me stumped. We've gotten into the hidden menu, but there is no BT Settings or a BT UI to get into and make changes to.
We've gotten into the /etc/bluetooth directory and noticed a few extra files that are a bit wacky such as AVRCP_Whitelist_toggle and AVRCP_blocklist_toggle. We confirmed that the listings of the MACs are not one to the car he is using.
My BT audio on my H815 is trash. I've tried it on 2 different bluetooth earbuds (Jaybirds & Plantronics Backbeat) and my car bluetooth (Dodge Dart) and all three sound terrible. I just plugged in my Sony Gold Wireless headset via AUX and it sounds beautiful. I really hope my unit isn't bad as I got it shipped to me(not available in Canada yet). I'll be following this thread closely.
Is your issue similar to mine?
Thank god its not just me and my ears. After M8 it sounds horrible and I have been trying out everything today. Especially treble heavy and rock/metal music sounds really bad and have distortion a lot. Hopefully we are able to find a solution for this problem. My car stereo is ok and old M8 sounded good (not great but good) but this just trashes my ears so badly.
The weird thing is, I was posting in the Android Central forum as well and the guy there has the same earbuds as me (Jaybirds) and says his audio is fine. Though everyones ears are different, coming from the Z3 which had lovely BT audio, this is really hurting my ears, especially with in-ear headphones. I wish I could contribute more than just "I'm having an issue", though.
Well it depends on the volume. Lower volumes you can't hear it that well. Especially if you don't know what to listen but once you hear it you can't unhear it . And sadly Im accustomed to good quality sound so I hear it all the time

You've had other Android phones that have done that?
I've had a Nexus 5, G3, Z3 and now G4 since I got my Dodge Dart and none of them have sent the info. I thought it was only iphones that had that capability.

My old M8 sends song info for sure and Im quite surtain that my old Galaxy S4 did as well as my old Note 2 etc. Its not only about the phone itself but the software that you use. Spotify didnt send the info for a long time but it has been fixed. And dont know about Dodges own systems as the only Darts that I know are from 60´s and I drive a little european hot hatch .
I received the Sprint G4 and have the same problem of not sending track information. While this isn't a deal breaker it's most definitely a huge con for me. So far my experience with LG's BT implementation has not shone a good light on LG for me. First it was the 5-6 times I had to factory reset my G Watch R to get it to work properly, which ironically worked flawlessly with my S4, then the 30 minutes it took to get it to pair with my Honda. Now it won't stream track info. Grrr. With no experience with LG do you guys think it will be fixed in a future update? I'm not too hopeful cause it looks like it was an issue with the G3.
I did try AutoAudio per these directions but it does not work for me. Maybe someone else could try to see if it works for them:

It sounds like your car doesn't support it, my Nexus 5 & 6, G3 & G4 , Galaxy S5 & S6 Edge all send track info to all of our car's stereos (Ford, Maserati and Range Rover).
What app are you using to stream the music to your car? We use Google Music, maybe try that and see if that works if it's not what you're already using to confirm it doesn't work from any music app.

I thought it was just me with the bluetooth issue. Just upgraded from the Note 4 for the G4 on Wednesday and noticed the crackling audio issue with my Plantronics Voyager Legend headset. I wasn't having this issue with my Note 4. I guess we have to wait on a update from LG for this fix. Could be a Lollipop issue with 5.1, maybe 5.1.1 will address bluetooth and phone running hot issues.

Question Rustle problem with wired headpones

I have A32 4G Phone. I'm on stock rom.
There is no problem when making calls and listening to music with wired headphones. But there is a rustle when recording audio. Why can it be caused?
I would be very happy if someone from the same phone can try. It has a 4 month warranty but I'm hesitant to send it just because of this.
I'm using cheap headphones and I have the same issue, probably bc they're so cheap lol
