[Q] VZW Galaxy Nexus not showing up on play.google.com

I got a VZW Galaxy Nexus a few days ago, I haven't rooted it or unlocked the bootloader yet.
The play store works on my phone and my device DID show up on the play store website yesterday, but I was following the instructions in this thread to try to force the 4.0.4 update so I cleared the data in the Google Frameworks app.
Since then my phone won't show up in the play store, I read through all the reasons why it might not, and from what I can tell, it should.
I'm on the same google account.
I have used the play store app on my phone, I even downloaded a new app.
My old phone still shows up, but I took the SIM card out of that, and traded it in for a micro SIM, and then I flashed a new ROM on my old Revolution so I could sell it, and it hasn't been connected to any source of data since then.
Also yesterday my Nexus and Revolution were showing up in the play store?
Any suggestions?
Install just one app from the play store from device and it should resync your info.
good day.

I tried that and it still doesn't show up.
I also cleared the cache in my browser.
Thanks for responding though.

I did that too. I cleared the cache/data and force stopped it. I had to resign in and everything.
Still nothing.
I'm not exactly sure what did it, but it shows up now.
Thanks for your suggestions, I'll just be waiting for the OTA update to find me.
I just noticed the same issue with mine, but I haven't been able to get it to show up yet. Any idea what changed?

I read on the play store website that it can take some time, for me it ended up being about a half a day.
Just make sure you download something from the play store app on your phone, and it should show up.

I had the same issue... I had cleared the data for Google Services Framework and my Nexus disappeared from the play store.
To fix it I cleared the data for Google Play Store, then downloaded an app from the phone. Worked like a charm.
Thanks guys!

OG5 annoying Play Store Pop-ups

I am on stock, unrooted, OG 5. Since getting this OTA update, I now get annoying Play Store pop ups, for different game apps. It happens probably 80% of the time I come off of the lock screen. Does anybody know how to get rid of this? Thank you
This free app may work with un-rooted to identify source app of annoyances.

Tolerate, buy or uninstall apps that annoy you. Or root and keep up with methods that work.

Pixel XL new setup, Google Play Services crashes while attempting to transfer

Google Play services is crashing for me while trying to setup phone. This happens using the cable (switch adapter) and restore from backup. Only new install completes.
Google Message board has no definitive answer, so wonderingn if anybody here has thoughts
I am switching from a Galaxy S6 . I have use a variety of cables too.
When I got my first Pixel XL I transferred everything from my Nexus 6p and all went smooth.
Now I have a new Pixel XL cause I RMA my first one because the screen flicker problem. I also have this problem. Google play services crashes. It crashes when trying to transfer from the Nexus 6P and my old Pixel XL. I tried factory reset and flashing stock images and it still crashes. It also crashes when you try the other option set up phone transfer from your Google account cloud thing.
Other than that the phone works fine. Google services never crash unless Im try to transfer setting up the device.

So for you the replacement phone failed, but your original was fine. Hmmm
Update: I managed to migrate the apps and such. I decided to try the suggestion uninstall the Google Play Services updates. For me to do this I had to disable Android Device Manager, then do the uninstall.
Honestly not sure if Android Device Manager or reinstall of Google Play Services solved the problem, but worth looking. The one issue I have is that does not seem to have restored Application Data. So not sure If I missed something (was 11pm and tired) so that is annoying.
I have a lenovo k3 note with aosp pixel ROM installed in it
I flashed the gapps after that moment, play services crashes after every 8-10 seconds
I got messed up and tried out many apks, reboots, and backups from previous ROMs and finally I disabled play services
I am now using aptoide instead of play store
Chrome is though working fine
Any suggestions?please?

"My Verizon Services" process, wtf where did that come from?

Hey all, apologies if this has been addressed.
The background, I was starting to get some slow down, laggy performance from my phone, so I went under developer options and went to see what processes were currently being run and what cached processes were saved. And then I noticed a process named, "My Verizon Services". WTF.
The last I remember, I setup my phone via WiFi without my sim card in, so that bloatware from Verizon didn't get installed. Am rooted via magisk/twrp and have manually installed subsequent updates.
Where did this process come from? And how can I make sure that after I do my full wipe, it won't sneak its way back into my phone? Or is this a mandatory process force installed to work on a Verizon network?
2XL, 8.1 January (non-verizon), rooted, magisk 15.3

You sure that the My Verizon app isn't installed? I set up mine without the sim card in the beginning and as soon i as popped in the sim card, it installed those 3 Verizon apps. I just uninstalled them so it wasn't a big deal.
Yeah not installed, and searched throughout the phone with two different file explorers to root out verizon (vzw) apps, folders, etc. tried deleting them all but the process still shows up.
I'm curious if you still have that process running even after you deleted the apps.
Check it out for me and let me know.

If you put a VZ SIM in the phone it pulls My Verizon. If you start the app...even if you don't fully sign in..that service shows up. It stays there after you uninstall the app.
Just tested and confirmed on my Google phone.
Dang.... need to figure out how to block that from getting installed. Or how to fully rid it from the phone after.
Or does it only show up if you start the app? So if I don't start it up, I'm good?
I'll report back here in just a bit

If you uninstall it, the service shouldn't show up. Try rebooting after uninstalling and see if it goes away

Going to have to flash back to stock and uninstall it before you start it. I had never uninstalled it or started it. It was not in my running services when I first looked. So remove it before you start it.

Nope, it stays there even after reboot. It pops back up for a second running then moves to the cached in background section.

Bummer, just ran the flash all minus the -w and it's still there. So it's part of the User partition. Gonna take a full wipe I think. I am not worried about it, just enjoying figuring out the puzzle.
I'm right there with you. I don't understand why that process persists.
I've got slow wifi at my place, so it make take a bit for me to report back in. Currently installing all apps I had on my phone before, root, and then pop my sim card back in.
Goal- basically stop verizon apps download while in process.
Not sure what that process is/was doing. Or what information it is sending. But I really don't see why it needs to be taking up memory, or why it needs to be sending any data.
Thanks for looking into it with me.

I think it must be connected to the Sim card.
Factory reset, root, no verizon apps installed or downloaded
And it's still showing up in the running/cached processes.
It was not there when the Sim card was not in.
I'm curious if Sprint or T-Mobile folks have a similar process.
Got it killed.
Install All In One Toolbox from the play store, requires root for what we are doing. Fire it up and you can disable services from startup. My Verizon Services was there, disabled it and rebooted and it is gone. Then I uninstalled All In One and rebooted. Still gone.
I love the smell of burnt Verizon in the morning.
Be interesting to see if any side effects, like lost voicemail notifications.

Are you using the Verizon app by chance?? I have the same setup as you, and I use the app to check my data usage periodically. If your on wifi, you won't see it running under developer options. However, if you use it on mobile data, and deny the location prompt when you open the app, it'll stay running in the background searching. When your back on wifi, it'll still run, so I just go to developer options and shut it down.
Nice one.... worked like a charm. Thanks

Is the service related to the My Verizon app or is it due to network connectivity, specifically LTE Advanced Calling and/or Wifi calling? And you said you disabled and uninstalled it with a root app, which I can't use. But have you noticed anything untoward after disabling it? I click on it in the Cached Services tab and it says an old app cached but available if needed. Doesn't seem like it's doing anything weird. Phone is working fine and no crazy data or battery drain. (I have a Pixel 2 and not the XL version)
Haven't noticed anything detrimental. Though I did do a full wipe before doing all this because I was having some performance lag issues, like home screen swipes not being smooth, increased time while switching between apps.
I would be curious to know what it's actually doing since I never had any Verizon related apps loaded onto the phone.
If you watch the running processes screen during load up you'll see it run for a few seconds and then move over into the cached processes.
I don't know enough about debugging, but it would be interesting to see what it's doing and if it's sending or receiving any information.
But...I no longer have it running so I'm currently unable to do so.

I have a Pixel 2 XL simless on project fi and this app showed up on a security scan with Clean Master so I'd be curious to know how it got on my phone
Funny story....
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/googl...rizon-services-1-0-89-2-android-apk-download/
It's actually a Google app and not Verizon bloat. That would explain how it got onto the non-Verizon variant of the phone. Still not 100% sure what it exactly does though, but according to this Verizon rep it is a dependency service for other apps which I'm assuming are from Verizon.

It's needed for VZ wifi calling. I froze it, wifi calling instantly stopped. Unfroze instantly worked again.

Wonder what other Verizon services rely on it to function. Figured I'd reach out to Google via the support chat to see if they might know, but they were pretty much useless.

Apps Crashing and Unusable

Ok so over the past 2 days I've started having problems with app closing as soon as they're opened. The first app was the play store, anytime I tried to update my apps or tap on an app in the app store to look at the app it would close. Then it just stopped opening altogether. The second app was Instagram yesterday, it would crash as soon as I tried to open it. Now this morning Photos is doing the same thing. All three app started working after either uninstalling and reinstalling in the case of Instagram or returning to the original version shipped with the phone in the case of the play store and photos. I was able to do that by going to each app in the settings, disabling then so they downgraded and them enabling them again. I've have updated the photos app to the newest version and it's working again. My phone is stock rooted with the stock kernel. I don't have TWRP installed either. I do have the Swift black substatum them installed and am wondering if that could be causing the issue, however it's not applied to Instagram so I'm not sure that's the problem. Has anyone else had this issue and do you know what's causing it? I have not been connected to WiFi at all when this has happened and my cellular connection is good.

When using Substratum if you update an app it will usually cause issues since the theme is not for the newer version of the app. You need to disable the theme for those apps to get them working again or update the theme and apply it to the apps that aren't working properly. You may find that the theme isn't updated yet for some apps so you'll have to leave those stock after disabling the theme for them.
That makes since for the play store and photos. Would that also cause Instagram to crash even though the theme isn't applied to it?
