Is there no any other way without upgrading to nougat? My marshmallow has xposed, rooted, gravity box and busy box. Nougat doesn't have those. That's why I don't want to upgrade. I only want the launcher.

Moto z play back to stock with retail rom is possible?

Hello,
I'm considering going back to the stock ROM in my moto z play XT1635-02 retla1st but I would like to know if I would have a problem installing the RETAIL version when receiving OTA's or some other problem.
I currently have the bootloader unlocked and a compilation that is not the official one but I want to remove the root and receive the updates without any inconvenience.
best regards

I do not know if you can downgrade from a 7.1 ROM to a 6.x Stock via RSD and have your phone usable. With some phones if you downgrade to MM you brick it.
If it survives, you would then need to find a way to lock the bootloader.
In the same Android versión it's possible install a retail ROM?

I believe if your phone (bootloaders) is 7.x you can RSD 7.x and if phone is 6.x you can RSD 6.x .

I used this guide today, it worked without any problems. I went from rooted 7.1.1 stock september security patch to 7.1.1 stock november security patch with locked bootloader. OTA december security patch worked as well. I even unlocked the bootloader again and am now rooted with magisk safety net passing

Oreo for Galaxy Note 8 on Verizon?

Hey there. I just got a Note 8 on Verizon with build BRB1 installed (Feb security patch). Any chance there's an Android Oreo build that I can upgrade to from my current software?
Thanks!

Is it worth losing the ability to root? Currently on a rootable firmware that's unrooted.

I find that with the theme manager and SABS, Samsung Ad Blocker, this phone is awesome with no root. My main concerns were customization and adblocking. All taken care of without root.
I turned off otas with the universal firmware upgrade.
How can I get Oreo?
Does it have Atmos sound like the S9?

Xposed on Redmi Note 5A Prime. Possible?

Is it possible to install Xposed Framework on 5APrime (ugg)?
If so, could you leave a link?
Thank you!

This worked for me, not too much gain tho, but if you want to install exposed anyways, this way you can do it.
Thank you very much, man. Installed and working!! Just got to be careful about which xposed version to download.

You are welcome! If you find something useful, let us know please, I installed xposed only for adblocking, but none of the modules really helped me, I found the better solution outside xposed framework.
Well, I was looking to add more steps to change multimedia audio more smoothly. With VolumeSteps+ I was able to do it.
I also installed Gravity Box, and found that I can launch different apps using different fingers on the fingerprint sensor. (First you have to register the fingerprint of various fingers in the system settings)
Gravity Box is filled of options, although not all of them work.

It depends on what android are you using.
You choose the correct sdk version according to your android version from here:
SDK21 is Android 5.0 (Lollipop), SDK22 is Android 5.1 (also Lollipop) and SDK23 is Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).
For Nougat, SDK24 is Android 7.0 and SDK25 is Android 7.1.
For Oreo, SDK26 is Android 8.0 and SDK27 is Android 8.1.
Then download it from here:
https://dl-xda.xposed.info/framework/
For example if you are on 7.1.2 then you will download SDK25.
Thank you so much...
Xuimod causing black screen issue.
May it possible to use xuimod.

Still on 7.1 samfail wanting to update to oreo or pie?

I'm not sure where to post this but I'm still on samfail 7.1 rooted. Question is can I update to oreo or pie and gain root? I seen something about V5 and V6 bootloader can be rooted but not sure if that was for our snapdragon version and if I can just do maybe an update through odin? I'm missing xposed ugh...

It is my understanding that you can root the v5 and v6 booatloaders. However, the process of rooting is limited to Android 7.1. So, in essence of your wanted root and you were in v5 or v6 you would have to install Android 7.1 through the pseudo TWRP available to those of us on the Snapdragon version and not really gain anything new. There is no root for Android 8/9 at this time. Because we cannot unlock the bootloader, we are limited to root on Android 7.1 at this time regardless of your bootloader.

I wouldnt fret too much, as PIE is pretty good, after much thinking about what apps really require root on a daily basis the upgrade was worth it as i get better battery life and not need any processor/kernel mods.
stability is awesome no more daily crashes
PIE theme / launcher is pretty nice, and you can always mod the launcher out or just install a different one and mod that one as if it were rooted.
just a thought if you were panicking like i was about leaving root for stock life, its not as bad as it seems on PIE i still have the feeling im going to need root but havnt had the need for it.

Xposed on Nexus 5 and LineageOS 15?

So i recently re-installed Lineage OS on my old nexus 5 and i was wondering, how can i install Xposed on to it, with framework and app and all that? With the search results online i am not getting really far, i don't quite know what version to install , how to do it etc....
Note: i need Xposed specifically to install multiple custom watchfaces on a huawei watch GT2.
I tried installing a version, but it just reseted my phone, and when i check the Rooted sate of the phone i get "not rooted" or something like that.
I installed LineageOS via TWRP on the phone.
Can you guys help me out here? i did not root or install custom FW on a phone in a loong time and i am out of the loop of recent hacks and stuff.
Thanks in advance

Main point for xposed: what Android version? For xposed I recommend nougat. LinageOS 14.1 is still getting security patches.
