OTA compatible between americas and european variants?
Hello I am from Norway and have this variant of the phone:
Model - Moto Z² Play
SKU - XT1710-09
Carrier - reteu
I see there is SKU variants 06 - 07 for the americas and 09 (and probably more) for europas.
I wonder if the OTAs are the same for all variants ???
In my phone I have software that points to cellphonecompanies in US, among others. They are just frozen (deactivated) The companies bell and verizon does not exist here in europa and there is seveal apps from them.
This leads me towards, same OTA used all over.
But since I am on august patch, I could have tried the OTA for sept, not jet.
I do not know how to fix it if it all goes bad. Is there anyone who can help out ?
If we got that knowledge, getting updates, would not have to be about 1-3 monts waiting :victory:

Hello Junior! Thanks for your tutorials. Installed TWRP and Magisk perfectly! TWRP flashing gave me a message 'image not signed or corrupt' but isntalled...
BUT when I went on to instal the OTA (Weird, cause I had already installed all OTAs before rooting - this one was september, downloaded via Motorola update App), goot a nasty bootloop (OTA failed saying the file expected values 'NPSS26.118-19-4' or 'NPS26.118-19' and got '.') , which I managed to bypass by entering factory mode via fastboot. Preety scary LOL.
So my question is: are these ZIPs changed or are they the same as downloaded via own phone? To be safe, i'll not install any OTAs unitil next update...
Thanks again for all the work!

This is normal, the file is not signed by Motorola.

If there was an error, it means there is some modification in the system.
Before installing any OTA, the system must be completely original.
All files that I posted here, no have modifications.
Stock Recovery don't accept any modified zip file or not signed by Motorola.
I posted the files here because they asked to me. Use at your own risk.

Thanks for the reply! I see... the error then must've happened because I tried to flash the zip after having root (Magisk) and unlocked bootloader. All is fine now!

After you're rooted with TWRP and magisk running can you flash these OTA update zips using flashfire or will that result in TWRP bootloop same as flashing the update using TWRP will?

Now Z2 Play's February Security Patch (NPSS26.118-19-22) has been released but I cannot get the OTA file through this:

One of my phone got it, not sure why

Ota problem nps26.118-19

I have a factory unlocked MOTO Z2 Play RETLA, yesterday I receive the NPS26.118-19 update notification so I hit apply.
I was with very poor wifi so the update takes forever to download so y hit cancel to do it later with better wifi.
After that, i go to settings and the phone says that there's no update available, im in NPS26.74-33.
Any idea how to get the OTA again?
regads
You'll have to wait for the OTA to be offered to you again.
I've this update, but don't worry it's only the july patch. Try to reboot the phone or shutdown and start, I've received the update when I unboxed the device.

[OTA] NPN25.137-35 - April 2018

Hello all,
Have an unlocked rooted Moto G5 Plus here on T-Mobile currently running stock NPN25.137-33 (Nougat 7.0 - January 1, 2018 security patch) and I just received this update notification for a VoLTE fix named NPN25.137-35. It's relatively small (~48mb) , here's hoping one of the more experienced devs can incorporate this into their Nougat ROM's moving forward and also hopefully make a TWRP flashable zip for those of us who just want to upgrade their stock rooted roms.
Cheers!
Download link (Drive)
My system info (pre-patch, of course):
If I flash this I will get my IMEI back or no? I didn't understand sir????
A little confused by this as well, your screenshot is showing January 2017 security patch and your ota is an old one. Are you just now getting this update through TMobile? Glad I bought the unlocked version if that's the case

Just wanted to contribute in case this OTA wasn't already out there (couldn't find it in my searches). I know that the current stock ROM version is 93-4 with the March security patch being pushed out to some regions...wanted to share the patch in case it wasn't pushed to other carrier versions so that it could help add robustness to existing Nougat ROMS, especially for VoLTE TMO users.
Wait.. this is a very old update.. the newer updates have NPNS instead of NPN
Edit: just read your comment, ignore this

S9 still stuck in Apr 2018 security patch, no updates whatsoever...

Hi, my Samsung S9 (SM-G960F, dual SIM) was purchased in May 2018 from Dubai (fully unlocked) and is being used in India. There were no carrier restrictions at the time of purchase, it was purchased fully unlocked.
Even today, it still shows Android Security Patch Level at 1/April/2018. I have enrolled into Samsung Pie beta, and I try everyday to download software manually, but no update has come, either in security patch or in software version. The details are given below:
When I try to update software manually by going to software update - download updates manually, it says 'The latest updates have already been installed. Current version : G960FXXU1ARD4/G960FOXM1ARCA/G960FXXU1ARD6'
When I go to settings - software information, the android version is 8.0.0, samsung experience version is 9.0, baseband version is G960FXXU1ARD6, build number : R16NW.G960FXXU1ARD4, kernel version : 4.9.59-13138374-QB17882910 [email protected] #1 Tue Apr 24 11:50:17 KST2018, android security patch level : 1 April 2018
I have even downloaded Samsung Smart Switch and tried downloading latest software but no use. The message I get there is 'Your software is up to date : RD4(INS)'
Please help. At this rate, I am not sure if I will receive any updates at all, even security patches. I dont know what is the problem.
Thanks in advance.
Flash it manually with ODIN, loads of guides all over XDA if you look
Thanks a a lot.

Yea, just flash as normal, your bootloader will change to version 2 so you will not be able to downgrade back to that current firmware you are running as it is version 1

Ota link updated.
I checked for updates on mine and got the 194 update right away. Surprised this didn't have the October security patch in it... but I suppose that might be a lot to ask.
Thank you for WW 194 link. I was able to manually upgrade Partition B (putting the update in root and restarting phone - I got the official update prompt), then use Magisk Manager to patch it while I still had Magisk on Partition A (WW 189) - this was crazy cool. Didn't even need to plug my phone into a PC!

Thanks for this tip, worked like a charm!
I installed the update by putting the zip in the root of internal storage and then - without restarting - directly opened Magisk Manager to click install and choose the option to "Install to inactive slot (after OTA)"
Maybe I'm late to the party, but I never knew Magisk had this option. It beats having to manually extract, patch and flash boot.img by a landslide :good:
Which Magisk versions are working with latest .194 please?

Not sure why ASUS is saying saying that's new. This post shows someone on that build from August 2019

Oh... So "1906" version could make sense.

No "1906" means security update for June 2019 which is really old. The latest version is WW_16.1220.1909.194_0 with September security update and we are waiting for the next update with at least October security update or even Android 10 major update.

Oh this is interesting to know that it's referred to security patch. I usually was reading about security patch on release news but is useful to read from the file name.
But it would have been even more weird if they had released (for US) now an update with June patch.
They had June patch in August like in EU (beginning of August).

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and pretty much clueless when it come to Android tweaking ect.
Thank to this thread I was able to update my phone yesterday. It was at WW_16.1220.1908.189_0 for a while now.
Also, can anyone here help answering me this: Why is my phone not auto update these new versions of its firmware? Only until some apps not working that I noticed the firmware is outdated. I bought it secondhand, it was rooted but I reset it with the buyer's help. Is that why or does phone now need to be updated manually?
If this is not the place to ask this, I am sorry. People here seem to be well verse in this topic, so...
