Reporting bugs
DO NOT report bugs if you're running a custom kernel
DO NOT report bugs if you've modifies system files
DO NOT report bugs if you've installed xposed and/or other mods
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
Code:
adb logcat > logcat.txt
Code:
adb shell dmesg > dmesg.txt
If it is a random reboot, grab kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Code:
adb shell cat /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops
If the problem disappears after running "setenforce 0" from a root shell, grab /data/misc/audit/audit.log
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues or bugs reported in the lastest 5 pages of this thread. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.
Code:

F.A.Q.
ROOT! ROOT! Give me root or i'll die!!! Where root is???
First of all DO NOT flash any SuperSu/SuperUser/SuperMan zip package to get root. Go to Settings>Developement Settings>Root access and select "Apps Only"
Why no nightly today?
Build failed. Check again tomorrow
When do I have to wipe data?
You must wipe data only when you're switching from another rom or migrating to Snapshot branch from Nightly and vice versa. You don't need to wipe data when you update in the same release channe (this applies to 13.0 -> 14.1 upgrades too)
Will you add <insert awesome feature here>?
I won't. If you write it, submit a commit to gerrit, where it will be reviewed.
The LineageOS team would like to thank everyone involved in helping with testing, coding, debugging & documenting! Enjoy!

Hi
My only question, after just buying a G4 Plus, is how come this thread has only just been created? I was expecting to see pages in the hundreds, but this was setup yesterday. I did find another thread for the official 14.1 build at https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g4/how-to/p-lineageos-14-1-motorola-moto-g4-g4-t3532575 but its only 14 pages long.
What's going on? What's happened here?

To @deepakSP's point, The existing Official LOS 14.1 thread became the Unofficial LOS 15 thread, then this one was created for Official LOS 14.1. It might have been better if LOS 15 unofficial went to a new thread so we had the history of LOS 14.1 in this thread but at least we have something for Official LOS 14.1, and we can always search for things in the other thread because it contains that history.

AFAIK that would be fixed by the Google September security update which was released on September 5 (https://source.android.com/security/bulletin/2017-09-01), and therefore is not in the Sept 4 Athene build that I'm running. I'm not sure about the Sept 11 build (which only had one commit so I skipped it). Can you (or anybody else) specifically confirm which monthly security patch is in the September 11 build with a screenshot of "Settings > About Phone > LineageOS Version & Android security patch level? "
Someone has somewhat misguidedly created a ticket for this in LOS jira (https://jira.lineageos.org/browse/REGRESSION-1110?jql=text ~ "BlueBorne") however the ticket will most likley be rejected because it includes no log, it was filed as a regression instead of a bug (and it may not even be a bug), and the dates for affected and last known good are off. Perhaps the inevitably rejection of that ticket will include more information about the state of the patch (if it is not already in the September 11 build).
---------- Post added at 03:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 03:37 AM ----------
[EDIT] September 11 build has August security patch. Let's see what happens with the September 18 build.

FAQ
ROOT! ROOT! Give me root or i'll die!!! Where root is???
First of all do not flash any supersu/superuser/superman zip package to get root. Go to Settings>Developement Settings>Root acces > Apps Only
Are these gapps <insert random gapps package here> working with cm12.1?
Use the suggested package
Why today I got no nightly?
There were a build error or it means there's something wrong with the rom and I've choosen to stop nightlies until the problem gets fixed
Why is TDB not working / supported?
Official CyanogenMod support requies Encryption support. With TDB we can't have an encrypted userdata partition, otherwhise one system will be able to use it and the other won't
When do I have to wipe data?
You must wipe data only when you're switching from another rom or migrating to Snapshot branch from Nightly and vice versa. You don't need to wipe data when you update in the same release channel.
Why no <insert miui feature here>?
Because this is CyanogenMod
Will you add <insert awesome feature here>?
I won't. If you want submit a commit to gerrit, where it will be reviewed.

Dirty flash works over Android (and CM) upgrades, even across major versions. Data wipe is only required if you switch to a completely different ROM (or if you get bootloops ).
Anyone who has installed this please provide a brief review and stress on these

Finally!
Anyone tested SuHide with this? Thanks for official cm!
Tried it out yesterday. Had 2 issues
1. Got an "CM Bug Report" error everytime I would reboot phone (not a biggie).
2. Android Pay didn't work (deal breaker).
Back on Sultan CM13. Hopefully the above gets fixed soon or once stable version is released. Everything else seemed to work without a problem.
Glad to hear it. Thanks! Downloading right away.

No, Cyanogen Inc. is done supporting the OPO. They are not obligated to make COS14.1 nor will they. They are not like the selfless community devs; they're in it for profit and there's no profit to be made making COS14.1 Bacon.

Color OS camera partially working with this ROM - Front camera & Beauty mode doesn't work. Main camera works. Is there a better camera we can flash/install in this CM 14.1.. I don't like this stock camera comes with the Nightly.

Try Oxygen OS camera port of OnePlus 2/3 . It worked with many other ROMs.
Maybe you can test it and tell me back.

LineageOS is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 9 (Pie), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.
LineageOS is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. LineageOS does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
All the source code for LineageOS is available in the LineageOS Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to LineageOS, please visit out Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

Instructions :

Reboot to recovery
Flash TWRP-3.3.0-z2_plus-SAR-signed.img
Flash the latest build, (magisk) and gapps
Reboot
Downloads :
TWRP, Lineage system-as-root and Permissiver_v3 (for GSIs): here
Gapps : OpenGapps
Notes :
Using this build you'll be able to boot A/B system images on our z2_plus (A-only device)
Only Clean Installation Please
Bug Report Without logs means nothing
This build is mainly for GSIs flashing, it won't be updated very frequently. For anything else use the official build here
Do not report here in case any GSI doesn't boot, but report it to the ROM author
On this build you'll only be able to flash A/B system images, A-only ones won't work
To go back to a non system-as-root ROM you just need to flash the official TWRP and do a clean installation of a normal A-only build
Check https://source.android.com/devices/bootloader/system-as-root for a proper system-as-root documentation
Reporting Bugs :
DO NOT Report bugs if you installed Xposed
Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /sys/fs/pstore/console-ramoops and /sys/fs/pstore/dmesg-ramoops-0. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. Please also do not report known issues. Any bug not reported in the bug report format below may be ignored.

List of GSI's:

Erfanoabdi's semi/GSIs (includes Android Q, Android P ports from Google Pixel Devices etc:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/gsi/
Note: Use only A/B System Images with above system-as-root enabled LineageOS build
If you face issues flashing GApps on a GSI (which doesn't include GApps by default ofcourse) try the following steps
* After Flashing System Image *
-> Backup System Image
-> Wipe System, Data
-> Restore System Image
-> Flash GApps
-> Reboot
What works?
Everything in the above build, but it might differ in Generic System Image for example: VoLTE might be broken and pushing ims.apk in the system might fix it but not necessarily. Default Camera app can be unstable using third party camera can be a good option.
Tested GSIs:
* Erfanoabdi's Pixel Android Q dp2 - A/B slot image
* Erfanoabdi's Generic Android Q dp2 - A/B slot image
I'll take one as well..

Yes, could someone please tell what's the difference between this one and the official lineage is 16?
Nice work. In theory, would it be possible to flash the latest Android Q Beta 5 official GSI using this?

Here's a guide from XDA that explains the process:

Well I didn't get a response to this so I decided to try it for myself. Turns out that the official Android Q Beta 5 GSI provided by Google (on the Android website) boots fine on Z2 Plus. However, during the setup process at the point where it asks 'Choose screen lock', the page is empty (just white space) and thus it is not possible to continue from here.
So instead I will try reverting back to stock TWRP and flashing the A-only build of Android Q Beta 5 by Erfanoabdi.

Oh my god ..... So fast .....
Wow...!!!!
Thanks a lot for the first Q ROM for our device....
Tried the ROM...found quite stable...but I couldn't install magisk ...so reverted back to my previous build...
But couldn't customize it...like any changes made in "system>status bar" option etc...couldn't be reflected as soon as it was changed...maybe I had no enough patience...
Anyways....thanks a lot for our first Q custom ROM...
Gj Thanks!
Screen shot please
This ROM treble are non treble?
Great to see Android 10 come to our device so quickly! I hope you're able to fix encryption as soon as possible. I heard that Android 10 is using a new type of encryption (Adiantum) that runs a lot more efficient on older devices.
Amazing! Will test!
Great job ,long live z2plus!:good:
