Wi-Fi calling on rooted device or otherwise? - Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe Questions & Answers

Is there any way to enable Wi-Fi calling on the Zenfone 3 Deluxe using a bootloader or root? I found a post from last year on the subject, but minimal information was there. It would make this device about a million times better if there was a way to utilize Wi-Fi calling.

I know I can use an app to make Wifi calls like Viber or Skype.
Does the Zenfone 2 support native WiFi calling. I am using Ting (T-Mobile) and I have enabled Wi-Fi Calling in the Ting configuration.
Yet I don't see the Wi-Fi Calling option on the phone under Settings, More and I don't see anything for W-Fi calling.
Does the ZF2 support WiFi calling and if yes, how do I enable it?

Not at the moment, Umobile from Malaysia also lunch the same features, but limited to Iphone for the moment, you got to use the wait and see approach.

WiFi Calling on rooted HTC One M8

Hey, folks. I'm having some issued figuring out how to set up WiFi calling on my phone. I've tried following the steps here: http://support.sprint.com/support/t...enario_542_51761_771_en_1828-dvc8080007prd#!/
but I don't have the option to enable WiFi calling, even though I'm connected to a WiFi network. My phone is rooted and I'm pretty much running a stock ROM (TWRP, I believe). The software version is 1.54.654.13. I never opt to do the Software Update it asked me to every day. I just disable the app for the next 24 hours. Is this related?
What do I need to do to get WiFi calling enabled? At work, I either have a low cell signal, or I get low on minutes for regular calling.
Thanks in advance!

Wifi Calling?

Any way to activate the wifi calling feature for the Sprint S6?
rooted and xposed installed
I've tried on every build so far on my GS6 and haven't been able to get it to turn on, but it sounds like a few people have gotten it to work. I've spoken with Sprint multiple times about it and the only remaining test they want to try is to factory reset the phone...which is funny since the first day I also couldn't enable WiFi calling. They recommended I take it into a Sprint store so someone else can look at it, and probably factory reset it. I just don't want to spend the next 6 hours customizing everything on my phone again. I've also heard that the battery life isn't very good with WiFi calling (maybe incorrectly), so that's been another reason for me to not take the plunge and factory reset.
Sprint did mention, during all those phone calls and chats that WiFi Calling must be enabled on your account/line for it to work, which they say they enabled for me, but it still doesn't work. Maybe that's your hang-up....
Works for me on stock OH1. Took awhile for the red line to disappear from the icon but when it did I made and received several calls using wifi calling.
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
I am able to use wifi calling fine. I was just in Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia where I used wifi calling constantly to call and text people in the US. I am on stock OH1. When you enable wifi calling go to the wifi calling options and make sure the wifi access point you are connected to us enabled in the wifi calling. To the point above, yes it does often take 30 seconds to a minute to enable wifi calling on any access point. If it starts to take longer I toggle wifi calling off then on again.

How do you tell the phone that a particular wifi network is able to use wifi calling? Whenever I try to enable wifi calling it sends me straight to "Self Service".

Wanam Xposed module (note module not framework) breaks the ability to access WIFI calling feature. I reported it here in module thread.
I might recommend doing an RTN reset...I know you said you don't want to set everything up all over again. But I had issues when I first got the device. This completely reprovisions everything and in my case fixed WiFi calling not even being an option. I would make sure it shows in your account and then do the RTN reset.

Nougat disabled my hotspot after 3 weeks of good behavior?

So weird, ive been running Nougat 4.0.2 for a couple weeks and havent found any real bugs or problems. I take advantage of T-mobile as much as i can and Hotspot off my phone for my tablet and Google Chrome. If your familiar with T-mobile, it is unlimited.
So last night i found my tablet had an update for Nougat, and turned on my hotsopt from the OP3 and about 5 min later i found the hotspot was off..... But not due to no device connected....(had that problem a couple of times) It is now completely grayed out. Wont let me toggle the option on anymore!
When i talked to T-mobile they think its a problem on my phones side and they suggested to a re install of my OS...
Received 4.0.2 over OTA (running great for about 3 weeks)
Stock/Not rooted
Bootloader is stock
Any suggestions?
well in the screen shots you added the option isn't grayed out. the usb tethering is grayed out because it isnt connected to a pc. what you want is to toggle portable wifi hotspot
OMG..... i feel like a complete Tard.... I was going back and forth with T-MOBILE changing APNs and about to do a master reset, convinced i had a problem!
Sorry for creating a new thread to just to confirm my wife's thoughts that i am a complete TARD.....my bad.... And thank you
its an OOS 4.x issues, if u have a wifi hotspot security code it shows that u do u not have a device connected so it disables wifi hotspot after 5 minutes. i noticed mine stays on for more than 5 min if i do not have a wifi hotspot security code and device shows connected

WiFi Hotspot - share wifi connection (not 4G)

Hi,
Per above, want to share 7T's wifi connection - travel often, hotels often restrict number of devices, also, roaming offices usually provide 1 wifi access too. WOuld like to share using the inbuilt hotspot.
I know Pixels and Samsungs are capable out of the box.
What are my choices on the 7T? I can see a wifi extend feature in dev. settings, but that doesnt seem to work.
Has anyone got an easy way to manage wifi-direct?
thanks
7T
Got same issue and kinda disappointed because i came from s9+ and Xiaomi MI 9T Pro and no issue like this.
P.S. hope someone have solution about this wifi hotspot
If rooted, this app can be used to share wifi.

You'll want to use the "repeater" mode.
